CH.47 Remote check on the Dungeon

After the tea ti, I had no clue on what to do, so I decided to do my job as a dungeon founder and took a look at my dungeon.

Dungeon 22_090 (unnad)

Core Status: Strong

Miasma Status: Low

Monster Status: So

Founder: Brian Wood

Current Master: None

Generation Points: 60

Generatable Items

So so monsters have appeared there.

(Laura, do you think I should do sothing about it?) I asked my information source.

(It’s not necessary. Until a large amount gathers, a dungeon founder shouldn't interfere.) Laura told . (The monsters will simply live within the dungeon until there are too many of them. If a large build up happens, the miasma and mana they are using for sustenance might run out and they would leave the dungeon en masse, so interference in the case of a build up is necessary.)

(I see. I wonder what kind of monsters live now in the dungeon.)

(You could take a look.) Laura told .

(What? I can? How?)

(Master’s thoughts control the skill, just try.) You make it sound simple Laura. Well, I’ll try. Get so security caras in my dungeon.

…It was simple. I have eight screens in front of , displaying the large rooms of the dungeon.

For monsters, we have basic skeletons and so dark skinned goblins. They look like wingless spear cretins. In the last room, before the core room, there is even a skeletal dinosaur. So it’s mainly skeletons as the main force of the dungeon and the little imps as, I would guess, assassin types.

The skeletal dinosaur is interesting. If it’s really based on Uraby, it might be strong. I guess we did use a really high ranking core for the dungeon, so it would make sense.

The core room is also completely monster free. I find that interesting. I would have thought that there would be monsters there as well. It should be the most mana rich place after all.

(There are none in the core room, as I have used Master’s skill to prevent them from going there.) Laura told .

(You can do that?) I asked her.

(Yes, Master. Setting rules like where monsters aren’t allowed to go, is within the power of a dungeon founder. Even a dungeon master can do it, but the effectiveness is less than the command of a founder. A dungeon founder is almost a god, within the dungeon.)

(Not that part. The part where you could use my skill.) I told Laura.

(I have usage of all system linked skills Master has.) Laura told . (For other skills, I must have the permission from my Master.)

(So… you could use ‘Pack opener’? It is a system skill, right? Or at least it uses the system window.)

(I could use most features, Master. But I cannot open packs with it. That seems to be power only Master can use.) Laura inford .

(So you could do things like go through the collection and make sleeves, right?)

(Yes, Master.)

(That’s good to know. I can just have you make sleeves if I ever need them. I’m sure you will be able to choose cards I wouldn’t use for other things.) I told Laura.

(I am glad Master believes in that much.) Laura said happily.

(Of course I believe in you. I know you would never betray .)

Dinner ti is here.

I’m not that hungry actually. I think it’s because I really didn’t do anything today. Perhaps I should have gone for a walk around the town. I have so pocket money and I need to buy so gear after all. Water container, bedding and a tent at least. I can make clothes with the dungeon, so those are not super necessary. Also my current ones don’t seem to get grimy no matter what, so I could keep wearing them, but getting clothes is a part of the otherworldly adventurer. I would love to have a magic water flask, like the one Lucia has, but I doubt I could afford one. I could possibly make one with the dungeon, if I was able to analyze the one Lucia has. I have to ask her the next ti we et.

“Dear, how was the guild?” Christina asked Brandon.

“It’s not as bad as I was expecting.” He answered. “The day to day operation is running smoothly enough, thanks to the work of ‘Diamond sword’ and ‘Pri Rib’, but the wyvern is causing so problems. Sales of that magnitude really shouldn’t be done by anyone but a guild master.”

“Didn’t you na Zayaan as the new guild master?” Christina asked.

“He is not approved by the guild organization, so he cannot be given the full title. I made him the ergency guild master, but even then he might not have enough respect from rchants out of town. He’ll have a hard ti with the negotiations on the wyvern sales.” Brandon explained.

“But hasn’t Pri Rib been the party that delivers so of the best at in town for years?” I asked. “Shouldn’t that give him so credit?”

“Sales in town and out of town are different. The at that is taken out of town is dealt with by Bakula trading & transport. On exported at, keeping the freshness is paramount, so skills like item box, that can slow down spoiling are paramount.” Brandon explained. “Otherwise we would only be able to export cured ats. And cured ats are not dealt with by adventurers, but by smokers and chefs. And the main exports of this town are at, both cured and fresh, wheat and the boar hides. None of them are sothing an adventurer would sell directly to an out of town rchant.”

“And that makes Zayaan's credit in town useless, right?” I confird.

“Yes. He might be known in town for high class, bloodless at, but that doesn’t extend to outside rchants.”

“Can’t he just ask for help from soone like this Bakula company?” God that na. I hope they won’t try to take over the world, or fill the world with darkness. “Wouldn’t you have the power to order them to do sothing like that?”

“And risk the biggest company in town pulling out of here?” Brandon asked back. “It’s simply not worth the risk.”

“Well, I guess you're right.” I admitted. Even if you can do sothing, you shouldn’t always do it.

“And what about the previous guild master?” I asked. Didn’t Henry go see him.

“He has completely locked himself up. He did give Henry a resignation letter and I approved it.” Brandon told .

“I hope he won’t spend the rest of his days trapped inside because of .” I sighed. “I understand he has so PTSD, but … well I guess it might not be an overreaction in his case. But we should make sure he understands that he won’t beco the dungeon master.”

“Oh. Then did you choose who you are going to na as the dungeon master?” That got Brandon excited.

“Yes I did.” I told him. “And it’s not you so don’t get your hopes up.”

“I told you, you have no other choice, didn’t I?” Brandon ca on to . “You can’t pick Zayaan, or any other mber of his party, unless they have approval from the Guild organization. So you have to pick a noble. And I am your only choice.”

“Think again.” I told him. “Or more like look to your left.”

As the baron turned his head, the one he saw was his smiling wife.

“You… you didn’t. Why would you steal that honor from ?” Brandon asked his wife.

“Why wouldn’t I? If I hadn’t Brian would not have nad anyone in this family as the dungeon master.” She responded. Well, it is true. I don’t think I would ever na Brandon as the master.

“Brian, what did I do to you to deserve this?” He turned to and asked. Honestly, if you are going to start fake crying now I might just have to leave this house and live at a hotel. Or would it be an inn?

“Why would you ask that after what happened this morning? You should damn well know why you have been losing my respect at an alarming rate.” I told him.

“This morning? I didn’t do anything to you this…” I think he finally let his mories catch up to him. Yes, you indeed ordered your n to attack , and kill .

“So, now that you realized what you did, are you still going to question why I won’t na you as the dungeon master.” I asked him.

“But… But that was just a montary lapse in judgnt. Anyone would react the sa way.” He tried to argue.

“It’s not just you ordering your guards to kill , you know.” I told him. “It’s also the way you obsess after the prophecy. If I gave you the powers of a dungeon master, you would likely just use them to fulfill the prophecy. To the point where I would assu you would attempt to use the dungeon to create the behemoth. I an, why else would you use the core of the lesser behemoth in the dungeon?”

“What do you an he ‘used the core of the lesser behemoth’?” Christina asked.

“Didn’t you know? He had use the lesser behemoth core to reactivate the dungeon.” I told her.

“...” Seems like Christina is now wordless. “You used a national treasure level core TO ACTIVATE A DUNGEON! What IS wrong with YOU!?” Christina yelled at her husband. It's national treasure class? I heard it was S-rank, but I didn’t think S-rank would be national treasure class. Family treasure, maybe. But national? That sounds made up.

“Is it really that valuable?” I asked “I heard it is S-rank, but that doesn’t sound like national treasure to .”

“Brian, I don’t think you understand how rare S-rank monsters are. And to be able to extract a flawless core from a S-rank monster, after it is defeated, is extrely rare.” Christina told . Well I guess the core would get damaged easily as you pound on the monster.

“Yeah, sorry. I didn’t consider the fact that the core could get damaged.” I admitted.

“You are not the one that should be apologizing.” Christina told . Her icy gaze was still piercing a hole into Brandon's head. Please don’t kill him with it. Or actually, go ahead. That would save the trouble of dealing with him.

With the marriage trouble and death threats, our dinner ca to an end. For , it’s off to a bath, and then bed.

On the agenda for tomorrow. Beco an adventurer. Or at least register.
