CH.227 Parasitic Armored Jacket
I woke up in the morning, with my girlfriend sleeping next to . Ria was getting dressed, so I probably woke up to the sounds from that, as I usually do. Lua on the other hand didn’t seem to care, so I just let her sleep for a bit longer, and headed for the factory. It’s just normal for , and as long as I have Laura keeping an eye on things outside, I should realize when Lua wakes up.
Of course there is a reason I imdiately jumped here. I wanted to run so experints here before I did them in the real world. If sothing sses up here, all I’ll lose is the Pack Opener cards I use, but outside, I’ll lose everything. … Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration. But I might lose my new armor, before I even had a chance to use it in combat.
Now why didn’t I just leave this for Laura to do during the night? Well, I feel like I’ve been pushing too many things on her already, so I wanted to do it myself. And I don’t really get to do these experints, as they just are sothing Laura usually does, so I’m honestly a bit excited.
First things first, I checked on the ‘real ti’ room, or whatever I should call it. Soone, probably Tahlia, had let the blacksmithing forge out of my storage and it was now there. I saw no monsters there at the mont, so I assu they are taking a break. … remind to reward Kotetsu and Hinotama Soul at so point. I think I’ll do it after they convert Ria’s armor into a better tal. … I’ll also have to reward the vampires. Add that to the list.
I have too many monsters. No one person could ever use them all.
Anyway, I also checked my storage, and saw that so of the iron I bought had been converted into blood iron. Other than that, it doesn’t seem like they had done anything else. The interesting part was the quality of the blood iron. When I bought the wrought iron, it was Interdiate in quality, but after putting it in storage and using Material Quality Increase, it beca High quality. But now, I had Flawless quality blood iron in my storage. Sure so of it is because they likely used dragon blood again. Or the blood from another high ranking monster, so that would help, but I feel like they just used the Material Quality Increase first on the iron, and then again on the blood iron. I know the Material Quality Increase can only be used once per item, but at what point has the item changed to the point where it can be used again?
Well, back to why I ca here. I made a few armor stands with a combination of Dungeon Founder and just Different Dinsion Factory shenanigans, and put copies of both my and Ria’s armor on them. Three of each, just so I had a decent sized test. Then I got out a few copies of tallizing Parasite - Lunatite so I could start.

Screech!
Only to hear a terrifying sound coming from the armor. It sounded like tal rubbing against tal and it let out a literal ear screeching sound. I covered my ears out of reflex, but after a few seconds, the sound stopped.
I looked at the armor. It looked … fine. No visible damage or anything. I honestly thought it was breaking apart considering the sound, but it seems fine.
I analyzed it to make sure, only to realize just how wrong I was.
Armored Crimson Boa Jacket - Parasitic (dead) Mithril tal Inserts
[Defense 250]
[Magic Resistance - 30% damage reduced]
[Fire Resistance - 50% damage reduced]
[Ranged Attack Resistance - 30% damage reduced]
[Lightened - 30% weight]
[Durability 2700/2700]
A leather jacket made from Crimson Boa hide. It has mithril plates inserted into critical places to make it more defensive. Because of the hide used, it is naturally fire resistant. It has been enchanted to make it lighter and to improve its resistance to ranged attacks. A tal parasite was later added to it, and then killed. While so of the parasite's magic resistance remained, a large portion of it was lost when the parasite died.
Yeah. It did get rid of the parasite, but it also basically ruined the armor. Well, not quite but still. 150 drop in defense. Magic Resistance went from 91% to 30%. And the durability decreased by 500. All around, just terrible. Dealing with the life drain effect is much better. At least for , as the life drain is clearly not affecting at all.
With my test complete, I cleared the armors away. Now that I had the data on them, I could just recreate them in the factory whenever I wanted. Not that I need them here for anything except experintation. But what I learned today was that while my armor could support a tallizing Parasite - Lunatite, Ria’s couldn’t. So we’ll have to at least change the tal before I can install one for her. And at the sa ti, it might not be worth it, unless I install Spell Economics into her.
Then with everything cleared, I returned to the real world and waited for Lua to wake up.
“Good morning, sleepy head.” I playfully woke up Lua, by poking her cheek. I had already changed clothes and was ready to go for breakfast.
As to why I had to wake up Lua, well Ria had already returned from her breakfast and had given the information to prepare for our breakfast as well, so I really had no choice. Even though I did enjoy looking at Lua’s sleeping face.
“.... eh..? where? B-Brian?” Lua said, still clearly half asleep.
“Yes. It is I, Brian.” I joked. “You should wake up now. We need to get ready for breakfast.”
“... where? Oh. … We … I …” Lua muttered sothing, as she seed to finally realize where she was.
“Yes, we are in the Sawyer manor.” I reminded her, trying to bring her back to reality.
“... I see. … I guess it was just a dream then.”
“Oh? Did you have a good dream?” I asked.
“... yes. … I hope I get to see it again.” She said.
I wanted to ask for more information about it, but I feel like that might not be the best idea. Instead, I gave her the space she needed to get up and get changed.
… I guess this is a good ti to ntion sothing about Lua’s Dhampir Princess. Or Princess’s Grace to be precise. It can store multiple dresses made by the skill, but it can only store one ‘non-dress’ outfit. And in Lua’s case, that was the combination of the t-shirt, jeans and hoodie that I made her. If she wanted to change into other ‘casual’ clothes, like nightwear, she would have to do it the normal way. She could likely make herself a night dress, but she hasn’t done it yet, so she can’t swap her clothes with the skill.
A second thing worth ntioning is that no one else can wear clothes made by Princess’s Grace. Lua can remove them just fine, and even store them in things like a magic bag, or I can take them into my storage, but no one else can actually wear them. I don’t really know why, but Ria did attempt to put on Lua’s mantle, but she just couldn’t. Like there was so sort of a force field blocking her from putting it on. The sa went for the mace. If soone other than Lua tried to use it, it would hurt them. As in cause literal HP damage to you, as well as plenty of pain. Sure I could negate the HP damage, Health Conscious, but I couldn’t negate the pain it inflicted. Not quite Thor’s hamr, but still an effective anti-use asure.
But it might still be useful if she could hand it over to soone else without the weapon hurting them. I wonder if sothing like the slave contract I have with Ria would prevent the damage. After all, for my cards, Ria is counted as ‘mine’. Aka. cards that only affect my opponent, don’t affect Ria. So sort of a system contract does seem to be necessary for it, so maybe. … If I get officially engaged to Lua, will she count as being ‘mine’? I guess one way to find out, but let’s not rush into that. There might be a way more simple of an answer for what happened.
I left the room and stood in the corridor, so that Lua could change in peace.
