Chapter 143: Undoing
ALEXA
The wait was maddening.
All she wanted was to pry open those tal doors to finally get what she wanted.
When the elevator finally chid, it took everything in her not to crane her neck forward. She wanted to look like they were just heading down, to follow where she ’thought’ she saw them.
Though these people had no idea what was really coming, Lucian’s presence suddenly thickened the air with anticipation. Alexa reveled in monts like these.
Maybe that was her personal undoing and guilty pleasure. She also reacted similarly when she realized Eliana saw her with Jasper.
It didn’t matter how bad she’d looked, but seeing her go through sothing like that would always give her a certain kind of high.
Now that she could reverse the cards and create a scandal, she wanted to immortalize Eliana’s reaction and destruction.
And as for that kid?
Sorry, brat, you chose the wrong parent—a bastard before it was even born.
The elevator doors eventually slid open with a sluggish inevitability that would reveal her greatest masterpiece yet.
There they stood, two figures entangled in what appeared to be a lover’s embrace.
The man was all too familiar to these people—one that kept on trying to associate himself with Eliana at every possible turn.
And the woman?
Alexa kept her sneer to herself, but of course, how could she forget this snake of a woman?
But then she turned.
Alexa’s smile faltered, her confidence turning into confusion.
This was a totally different bitch.
It was not the pregnant woman whose face was supposed to turn horrified the mont she realized her situation.
The figure, however, had the sa hair and silhouette but an entirely different face.
"Is sothing wrong? Why is everyone blocking the elevator?" Said the unfamiliar woman with an expression so relaxed that it was grating on Alexa’s nerves.
"What the hell was this?" she hissed under her breath, her voice venomous and low, as if ready to chortle the people inside the elevator.
And what was worse was this Nicholas looked like nothing was amiss?!
The woman in the elevator suddenly t her gaze with an all too-knowing smirk.
It didn’t register right away, but she knows that face. It’s a face she makes when she’s about to take soone apart.
She’s been set up.
This was a trap.
Alexa shifted her stance, extrely vigilant after realizing her situation.
Her nails dug into her palms as she fought to maintain composure, provided she was not yet here—
But her thought never made it past that. Because from the corner of the room ca a soft laugh that she recognized all too well.
Alexa’s eyes narrowed, her anger almost causing her to steam in place.
Eliana.
The real one.
"What’s with the sudden gathering?" She had that quiet confidence, that grace that Alexa absolutely detested.
It made her feel small and subpar because she had missed the critical years of her young life when she could have mastered the sa tricks.
And then Lucian moved towards the damned woman who didn’t look like the pig she was supposed to be.
She was radiant, like an insult to Alexa, who now realized she’d been outplayed.
The world slowed down for her.
And all she could see was how everyone had smiles on their faces, and even the reporters marveled at the scoop they were getting.
To these people, it didn’t matter who would win. What mattered to them was that soone was even fighting.
These traitors.
All of these people were fucking traitors.
Alexa was now seeing red and realized that she was beyond fucked.
And so she’d rather bring them with her.

LUCIAN
Lucian was about to walk towards his wife when he felt a sudden movent coming from behind him.
Out of nowhere, he saw Alexa lunging towards Eliana while gripping her keyring like a weapon.
Lucian’s world felt like collapsing, and his back grew cold as the scene unfolded before him in an agonizing slow motion, and he was even slower than he wanted.
His mind scread at his body to move, to intervene, but his legs felt like lead. His heart pounded painfully in his chest as he realized the horrifying truth—
He wasn’t going to make it.
But then, like a thunderclap taking him out of this slow-motion, Eliana moved.
Her body twisted in lethal precision, her years of training instantly taking over.
His pregnant wife’s hand shot out, chopping Alexa’s wrist mid-thrust, her keyring suddenly clattering onto the floor.
Alexa’s eyes widened in shock, but she had no ti to react as a forceful punch hit her throat. Her scream turned into a choking fit as she staggered back, clutching her neck, with tears streaming down her face.
Eliana’s face was a mask of calm fury, and Lucian didn’t waste any more ti. He grabbed Alexa, who looked like she was planning to lash out again in desperation.
She clearly couldn’t breathe, but her hatred fueled her last-ditch attempts before being forced to crumple to the ground.
Lucian had no scruples when using force like this. Gender did not matter when his wife was almost stabbed.
In fact, in his anger, he made sure to dig into her ribs. This was the only way for soone like her to stop. And just rembering the monts before Eliana stopped her made him want to maim her, just in case.
Lucian could not let up until the police arrived. With Alexa’s actions, this wasn’t just a case that could be resolved with words.
This wasn’t about dignity or reputation.
She wanted to take Eliana’s life and that of their unborn child.
His fists remained clenched even as the authorities arrived, and it took Eliana unclenching each finger for him to let go.
That day, Lucian learned the concept of fear and loss.
And the mountain giant couldn’t be pried away from his wife.
He didn’t even speak. He just stuck to her like glue and barely blinked in case sothing similar happened again.
Lucian would be such a dumb fuck not to know.
This woman was already his life.
