But he knew sothing: it was not his own doing but the doing of his Learning Ability. Since he had found his one and only talent, he should develop it to its fullest rather than being swayed by novelty, otherwise what would it an even if he beca a Mage?

Although the Scholar Profession didn't grant any Magic, it awarded Qin Muye with an additional point in Knowledge.
It was evidently the effect of Academic Research, providing 1 Knowledge per Level, and since he was at LV1, naturally, he was given an extra point of Knowledge. More importantly, his Magic Value was 11, which should normally be 10.
