The distance between the shore and the power plant was another 20 miles away.
It was seen from the shore that there was in fact a river that connected directly to the power plant.
However, due to the narrowness of this particular river, it was hard for the icebreaker ship to pass through it. As a result, the only alternative left was to throw the anchor in order to dock the ship, and since they were no longer able to use the ship, they were forced to go on foot to reach the destination.
The fact that all of the sailors had been ordered to remain on the boat caught him by surprise once more. This left Viktor, along with Jessie, Wade, Biggs, and Roman, to be the only 5 people who were going to continue the mission.
"Jessie… are you really sure about this? Shouldn't we bring more guys?" Viktor inquired, his voice tinged with skepticism, as he believed that the idea of just going with the five of them was not a sensible one.
"No no… we don't co for a battle. We just co to sneak in and sneak out.. and hopefully, we won't need to fight at all" The young lady responded in order to convince him.
It was actually better to have fewer but more reliable people if sneaking was the plan.
Fortunately, Viktor has the Djinn sensor. If the plan went south and beca too much of a risk, he would leave right away.
anwhile, while he was at it, he checked the strength of his party.
[Bugs - Battle Power: 37 - Earth Realm - high stage]
[Wade - Battle Power: 35 - Earth Realm - high stage]
[Roman Fedortsov - Battle Power: 47 - Sky Realm - initial stage]
[Jessie Wineberrie - Battle Power: 40 - Earth Realm - high stage]
[Viktor Romanov - Battle Power: 42 - Earth Realm - middle stage]
[Strength - 30] [Agility - 60] [Endurance - 35] [Spirit Force - 68]
When it ca to strength, the two Wade and Bugs were comparable to Olga or Andrei, while Roman, as a sky realm fighter, had a higher stat than Viktor. What piqued his curiosity was Jessie's stat, which turned out to be higher than the others.
Nevertheless, while this team was definitely a total upgrade to his previous party, the party's reliability was still yet to be decided.
"We must arrive at the plant before the night cos. Or else It will be troubleso to fight both creatures," Jessie said to get around her teammates.
"Both creatures? What do you an?"
Apparently, her statent just now had left Viktor in confusion once again.
The girl just remained smiling as she added, "You'll see it later," and winked at him.
They finally disembark from the ship, and leave with a radio to communicate with one another in the event that they needed a change of plans.
Two hours before sundown, 20 miles to run.
Most normal humans would take an average of 3 hours to get there, but for them, the earth realm may quickly reach it in one hour without trouble.
However, it wasn't really a run in a park as there were many threats and risks in their imdiate vicinity.
They arrived on a shore near the town of Kandalaksha. The town itself in fact was swarming with the undead as if no one had ever passed through it the last two years.
Jessie was leading the way and she chose a path along the river just across the town. Viktor could see the hordes of undead swarming on the other side of the river, only a hundred ters away from the opposite bank.
It only took them about an hour to run 15 miles from their starting point, and they were ultimately in town next to a lake when they reached their destination.
At this mont, the sun had already set and the palace was half dark with only an hour left until it was totally dark. This signaled that the risk of abyss creatures to arrive was about to be multiplied.
"Ok let's get moving boys. The power plant was just a few miles over this town."
In a similar manner to what the group had done before, they also decided to walk and choose the most direct and safest route possible by taking the long way around the town.
However, as soon as Viktor was in the vicinity of the town, with his enhanced sense, he was able to detect glowing lights all over the town.
"Wait… there are people living there?" Viktor asked.
As opposed to this, the girl and the others did not seem to be surprised in the least as if they already understood what was going on.
Jessie quickly approached him and said,
"That's not people, I will explain it later, but the point is that we don't want to get too close to that town, so let's go.."
These words instantly elevated Viktor's level of suspicion and imdiately rose to the maximum level. Fortunately, Viktor did not need to approach the town in order to find out what was going on there. After all, the town was in the vicinity of the Djinn sensor range.
"Djinn, tell , are there any humans in that town?" he whispered secretly while following the group from behind.
"But Djinn, I swear to you that I can see movent in there, as well as lights. Soone must stay in there," Viktor continued as he tried to confirm whether or not what he had just witnessed was true.
The Djinn, on the other hand, did not say anything, which only increased Viktor's concern and caused him to quickly slow his pace.
"What is it, Djinn?"
