Chapter 225 The Calm
Considerable ti had passed since the attack of the mutant salamanders. The incident did not claim any casualties, only inflicting bruises on several people and damage to so parts of the ship. The ship can still sail normally without a hitch.
In a way, there was no significant loss. Thus Viktor could breathe a sigh of relief.
The trip across the Volga River went smoothly. They spent a few hours docked at the Port of Volgograd, before heading straight for the Caspian Sea.
Viktor and his crew marveled at the vast, seemingly endless azure horizon before them. In addition to the new spectacle, sailing on the sea was different from being on the Volga River. It was very rare for monsters to attack them.
"How is the situation on the ship?"
Viktor, who had just entered the bridge room, unceremoniously threw a question at Captain Mavis.
The bridge was spacious with large windows that offer a stunning direct view of the blue sea and equipped with sophisticated navigation equipnt.
Hearing the question, Captain Mavis turned around with a straight face. After finding that the person who greeted him was Viktor, the middle-aged man imdiately put on a friendly smile.
"Anything to report, Captain?" asked Viktor again.
"Everything's fine. No signs of monsters showing up."
The ship was moving towards the Eurasia Canal, a passage that connects the Black and Caspian Seas. It has been three days yet they had yet to encounter any monsters, if still to be seen if this was simply luck or just the calm before the storm. Viktor couldn't see the future, so he can only hope.
He tried to calm his uneasy mind by enjoying the view on the roof of the ship, watching the female adventurers in his crew basking in the sun. But still, Viktor couldn't stop fidgeting.
Captain Mavis had told him that during the ti he and his crew were sailing the Caspian Sea, they had encountered several sea mutants. Among them were flying jellyfish, eardrum-breaking dolphins, to carnivorous seagulls. So of them do not attack humans, but so were very aggresive.
Viktor tapped the captain on the shoulder. "I leave it all to you, Aye Aye."
Viktor then left the bridge and whispered to the Djinn.
"All seems to be in order, Djinn. It seems you are just making worry for nothing."
