What else could Director Lawson do? He looked up at Vincent Vance, still hanging in mid-air, life or death uncertain, and didn’t dare hesitate further. He quickly asked soone to call May Morgan, who was outside, to co in.

May Morgan looked up and saw Vincent Vance being tortured by the vines, and her heart panicked involuntarily. She rushed forward to save him, only to be stopped by Director Lawson.

"Young lady, what are you doing? Don’t you see how terrifying those vines are?" Director Lawson calmly advised May Morgan.

May Morgan, however, nonchalantly replied, "It’s fine, I have a type of parasite in my body that other parasites fear. They won’t dare do anything to ."

"This..." Though that’s what she said, human lives were at stake, and Director Lawson didn’t dare let May Morgan go in easily. If sothing happened, he wouldn’t be able to bear the responsibility.

With Vincent Vance’s safety on her mind, May Morgan couldn’t afford to waste ti with Director Lawson and others. She decisively pushed aside those blocking her and headed straight into the villa.

"Director Lawson, Vincent is very important to . I ca here to save her, and if she dies, I don’t want to live either, so please let go."

Seeing May Morgan entering on her own, Director Lawson’s face changed with fright. He was about to call people to pull her back, but was stunned by the scene in front of him.

The vines that attacked anyone who ca near seed to instinctively fear May Morgan, retreating as if encountering sothing terrifying. A path that could accommodate people instantly opened in the originally impenetrable villa.

However, the vines, though bloodthirsty by nature, feared touching May Morgan’s body, but didn’t want anyone else to follow in. As soon as May Morgan entered, the path closed up instantly.

Very quickly, May Morgan, who had entered, disappeared from everyone’s line of sight, her life or death unknown.

"Director, what do we do now?" Seeing May Morgan had gone in, her survival uncertain, everyone quickly inquired of Director Lawson’s opinion.

What else could we do? Previously, the villa only had Vincent Vance, and they couldn’t freely use heavy weapons. Now with May Morgan added, it was even more unadvisable to act recklessly.

Director Lawson furrowed his brows at the terrifying scene before him and, after so thought, suddenly rembered sothing.

"Whose villa is this? Why are there such terrifying things inside? Did the owner of the villa plant these things?"

Previously, tired of dealing with these strange things, investigating the villa’s owner had been forgotten. But now, with such terrifying things appearing inside, it must be related to the villa’s owner.

A subordinate, hearing this, quickly sent soone to investigate. In less than a minute, the investigation revealed that the property belonged to the Grant Family, naturally making it Victor Grant’s. May Morgan’s identity was also confird; she was Victor Grant’s newly wedded wife.

Naturally, May Morgan’s past identity was also uncovered — she was previously Vincent Vance’s wife. There had been many misunderstandings between Victor Grant and Vincent Vance, and they had fought several tis over this woman. During their last wedding, Vincent Vance had tried to snatch the bride, escalating their feud.

Hearing this, Chief Lewis slapped his thigh and quickly instructed his subordinates, "Call soone from the Grant Family and make sure Victor Grant cos here."

The subordinate, hearing this, quickly found Victor Grant’s phone number and called him. When Victor Grant suddenly received a call from the police departnt, he understood what it was about. He pretended to be out of town and temporarily unable to return, but said he would cooperate with the departnt’s arrangents and, if necessary, donate the villa for Director Lawson to handle as he wishes.

With this claim from Victor Grant, Director Lawson and the others couldn’t find fault. Although the incident occurred in Victor Grant’s villa, it couldn’t be presud he was behind these things. The Grant Family had significant influence in Beldon City, and without concrete evidence, such words couldn’t be spoken lightly.

Even if solid evidence was found, if Victor Grant denied it fiercely, future dia exposure or reports to higher authorities might not find many believers when such supernatural claims are presented.

Unable to get hold of Victor Grant, and fearing he was playing gas with them, Director Lawson had no choice but to call Victor Grant’s mother, Heather Holt.

Heather Holt, who had overheard fragnts of Victor Grant’s phone call, was already uneasy. Hearing Director Lawson ntion strange happenings at one of their villas, her first thought inexplicably went to Victor Grant.

Linking it with the phone conversation she’d overheard, everything made sense.

To ensure Heather Holt would co over smoothly, Director Lawson purposely told her, "Mrs. Grant, your daughter-in-law is also at the villa right now, her life is in grave danger. We hope you can persuade your son to co quickly; otherwise, we can’t guarantee your daughter-in-law’s safety."

Hearing that May Morgan was also involved, Heather Holt was frightened pale and quickly told Director Lawson, "Okay, okay, I’ll inform my son to get over there imdiately."

After hanging up with Director Lawson, Heather Holt quickly called Victor Grant. Victor Grant, who was in a hospital, promptly answered upon seeing a call from his mother: "What’s up, Mom?"

Holding in her anger, Heather Holt tried to question Victor Grant calmly, "Victor, let ask you, what’s going on with Westend Villa?"

Victor Grant was taken aback and stamred a response to his mom, "What are you talking about, Mom? I don’t understand!"

Seeing Victor Grant denying fiercely, Heather Holt couldn’t contain herself and finally shouted loudly at him, "Victor Grant, you know what you’ve done. I’m telling you now, the police departnt called — there’s a big incident at Westend Villa, and May Morgan is trapped inside. Go save her, or you’ll pay!"

Heather Holt’s words startled Victor Grant. He never imagined May Morgan would suddenly go to Westend Villa.

How did she find out? Wasn’t she supposed to be monitored at the hospital? How did she manage to escape?

Panic surged in Victor Grant, and he imdiately rushed towards May Morgan’s hospital room. Arriving there breathlessly, he indeed found it empty.

Seeing that May Morgan had indeed run away, Victor Grant’s fury flared, and he grabbed Mae by the collar, demanding, "Where’s May? Didn’t I tell you to keep an eye on her?"

Mae trembled with fear, repeatedly explaining to Victor Grant, "The young lady was crying with all along, and I felt terrible, so, so..."

"Damn it, you idiot! Didn’t you know what she was up to?" Victor Grant slapped Mae hard across the face, sending her sprawling to the ground.

Victor Grant’s strength was so great that blood soon dripped from Mae’s mouth. Victor Grant had intended to turn and go save May Morgan, but then, reconsidering, he turned back and picked Mae up from the floor again.

"Tell , who sent you? If you don’t, I’ll beat you to death!"
