"If you’re not letting go, then fine, but rember, we’re over, truly over!"

May Morgan, feeling wronged, burst into tears and kept sobbing in Victor Grant’s arms, "Victor, if anything happens to Vincent today, I swear I’ll leave you, even if it kills ."

May’s tears were always Victor’s ultimate weapon. Though he was filled with anger, he couldn’t bring himself to be harsh and eventually turned to his ready-to-act subordinates, instructing them, "Everyone, stand down, let the man go."

Upon hearing Victor’s order, his subordinates imdiately withdrew their weapons and stepped back. Seeing this, Victor coldly threatened Vincent, "Vincent, this is your last chance. Rember not to ss with May again, or you’ll be sorry."

"No way, May must co with today!" Vincent calmly picked up the test report from the bedside table and handed it to Victor.

"Take a look, it’s the blood test report we just did for May. I’m not lying to you; she’s really in danger."

Victor glanced at the test report Vincent handed over but didn’t even take a proper look before turning to leave, "Don’t try to fool . I’m not an idiot. I know what May’s situation is like."

May appeared weak but looked perfectly fine on the outside. Vincent was probably just creating a fuss. Falling for it would make him a fool.

After bringing May out of the hospital room, Victor looked down at her and, with a hint of caution, apologized, "I’m sorry. My father was just too anxious when he hit you. If you’re holding a grudge, hit instead. I’ll apologize on his behalf; you can hit as many tis as you want."

May didn’t have the strength to hit anyone now, and even if she did, she was in the wrong to begin with. It was only natural for Justin Grant to slap her in the heat of the mont, so what right did she have to bla Victor?

"I won’t hit you, just put down. I want to see Aunt Heather and apologize to her myself," May sighed helplessly and said sincerely to Victor.

Victor was relieved and quickly said to her, "It’s alright, no need. She’s just overwheld emotionally. A few IV drips at the hospital will do her good, and my dad is there with her."

"No, that’s not okay. I’m her daughter-in-law now, I need to be with her!" May clutched Victor’s shirt tightly, her voice low but firm as she spoke to him, "Victor, I’m telling you for the last ti, since we’re married, I won’t go back on my word, but you can’t touch Vincent. Otherwise, this marriage is over."

Victor looked down at the woman in his arms for a long while before letting out a soft sigh, "I understand. I promise you."

In fact, May couldn’t be blad for this. Regardless of her wishes, hadn’t she ultimately married him?

If it weren’t for Vincent’s interference, they might have already been on their honeymoon...

Thinking of these things, Victor couldn’t help but grind his teeth in hatred, damn Vincent. You’ve wrecked my happiness. Just wait until May and I are on better terms; I’ll find a way to deal with you!

May was so weak that she could barely stand. As soon as Victor put her down, she nearly collapsed, scaring him into quickly scooping her back up from the ground.

"I think you’d better take it easy. Why is your body so frail?" May’s unusual frailty made Victor dubious. Vincent’s blood test report ca to mind, and his expression changed slightly.

"How about we take you to the hospital for a check-up first?" Victor asked, worried as he looked at May’s paper-pale face.

May knew she had just been examined and felt it wasn’t necessary. She just felt weak; everything else seed fine, "It’s nothing. I got weak because of whatever drugs Logan gave when he kidnapped ."

When May passed out, she vaguely rembered soone prying her mouth open to feed her a bitter liquid, but she didn’t recall the details. Now it seed Logan had given her so damn drug, leaving her endlessly fatigued and listless.

"Damn that bastard Logan, I won’t let him go either!" Rembering what happened last night, when May was kidnapped by Logan, Victor gritted his teeth in anger again.

Not wanting to discuss this further, May signaled Victor to take her to see Heather, "Let’s see Aunt Heather first; it’ll put my mind at ease knowing she’s okay."

"Alright, I’ll take you there." Seeing May’s insistence, Victor had no choice but to carry her upstairs to Heather’s room.

At the doorway, May feared she’d be ridiculed if she was seen being carried by Victor, so she insisted on being put down, then walked in supported by Victor step-by-step.

Upon May’s arrival, Justin Grant’s face turned even darker, "Why are you here?"

May lowered her head, about to apologize, but Heather, lying on the hospital bed, reproached Justin gently, "Don’t be like this to May, she’s innocent too."

"Aunt, Uncle Grant, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault for causing you so much trouble," May’s nose twinged when she heard Heather still speaking up for her, leading her to tears.

With a "thud," she knelt before them, apologizing sincerely, "I brought disgrace to the Grant Family and put Aunt in the hospital. Uncle Grant was right to hit , I deserved it."

"Oh dear, why are you such a straightforward child?" Seeing May both crying and kneeling, Heather, already soft-hearted, imdiately sat up to help her.

Justin hurriedly stabilized Heather on the bed, reprimanding her softly, "Do you not know the condition of your body? Why bother about her? Lie back down!"

Justin was notorious for spoiling his wife. Everyone knew, even if his son offended his wife, he’d show no rcy, so though his words were harsh, May didn’t let it get to her.

In fact, in this regard, Victor was quite similar. If, just if, Vincent hadn’t been there, maybe marrying Victor would have ant being spoiled silly.

She was being ungrateful, passing on such a good family, only to be hung up on Vincent.

But who can control matters of the heart? No amount of kindness from others compared with one smile from Vincent. May just felt that, with Victor, she’d never feel the sa as she did with Vincent, no matter how much they tried to get used to each other.

"Uncle Grant is right, the issue started with . Aunt, don’t feel sorry for , I deserve to kneel for you!" May harbored no resentnt as she remained on her knees before Heather.
