Seeing her cut herself was more painful than having a knife cut into his own flesh.

The servant hurried over, trying to stop May Morgan from "self-harming," but she blocked him with a wave, "Don’t move, it’s enough."

After speaking, May looked down at the small bowl of fresh blood in front of her and hesitantly said, "I don’t know how the poison in your body works or how much blood is needed, but I think the more the better. You drink this first, and I’ll check the situation. If it’s not enough, I’ll get more."

Once the wound on her wrist automatically healed, May picked up the bowl, stood up, and personally walked to Vincent Vance, signaling for him to drink it.

"Make sure you drink it all, don’t let my intentions go to waste." Afraid that Vincent might be too worried about her to drink, May playfully said, "This is my heartfelt effort, so you must drink every drop."

Vincent looked at her with a pained expression, gently touching her cheek, "Why do this? Seeing you like this breaks my heart."

May glanced down at his legs hanging from the wheelchair, feeling a pang of sorrow, she couldn’t help but say, "Seeing you like this breaks my heart too."

She brought the bowl closer to Vincent, personally feeding him the drink, "It might not taste very good, but just manage to drink it, then let’s see how it works. If it’s not effective, I’ll get more."

Vincent looked at May’s face, reluctantly opened his mouth, and swallowed it down.

Her blood wasn’t fishy at all, not only that, it had an indescribable sweetness. In fact, soone who drank it would even find it sowhat addictive!

Vincent found it strange. It’s not like he hadn’t tasted blood before, he’s coughed up plenty of it himself, but May’s blood was truly odd, very unique, with an inexplicable allure that enticed people to crave its taste, even to the point of willing submission.

After drinking a bowl of blood, May quickly and nervously stared at his legs and asked, "How do you feel? Any better?"

Vincent touched his legs; at first, he didn’t feel much, but after about a minute, his legs suddenly felt as though they were being cut with a knife—intense pain erupted.

Vincent’s face turned pale, and he suddenly grasped his legs with a pained expression. May was terrified and quickly stood to support Vincent, asking, "Vincent, are you okay? Is sothing wrong? I didn’t an for this to happen."

"Don’t worry, it’s alright..." Vincent reassured the teary-eyed May, his forehead cold with sweat, speaking with a calm voice.

His legs hurt unbearably, as if thousands of needles were stabbing into him, almost too painful to bear, but seeing May so panicked, his heart softened, and he forced a small smile for her.

This pain lasted for about three minutes, then began to slowly ease. Seeing Vincent’s expression was no longer so pained, May nervously grabbed his arm and asked, "How are you now? Feeling better?"

Vincent looked up at May, seeing her on the verge of tears, and forced a smile to comfort her, "I’m fine, I’m better now."

As May took a towel to wipe his forehead’s cold sweat, she looked at his legs and said, "Do you want to try standing? I don’t know if my thod is effective."

Seeing her more anxious than himself, Vincent felt comforted. He gestured for the servant to co over and help, "May, step aside, let try."

Before, several tis, he had tried to stand from the wheelchair but always failed. His body was heavy, and he feared falling again and hurting May.

"It’s alright, I’m strong, let do it." May wanted to witness the mont Vincent stood up, so when the servant ca over to assist, she decisively pushed the servant aside.

Vincent glanced at her, but seeing the unwavering light in her eyes, he couldn’t help but sigh and didn’t insist further.

He first tried to move his legs, finding that they, once numb, now had a peculiar sensation. This sensation was so familiar to him because it was the feeling of freedom.

Ecstatic, Vincent quickly stood up from the chair with May’s support, this ti, his legs didn’t lack strength like before. Even though they were still weak, they seed to be gradually filled with power, and soon, his legs beca strong.

"May, step aside, let see if I can walk." After his legs steadied, Vincent, filled with joy, quickly signaled for May to make so room.

May didn’t dare to step too far away, fearing Vincent might fall again, so she stood a single step away. Vincent gathered his strength and attempted to walk a few steps, surprisingly steady.

He felt delighted again, quickly taking the opportunity to walk several more steps, still stable, although slow, no different from before. He understood in his heart; he had passed this trial!

"Wonderful, Vincent, your legs are healed!" Seeing Vincent freely walking, May suddenly burst into tears of joy, rushing over to him.

Vincent wasn’t prepared for her sudden pounce, and the two of them fell onto the ground together. Fortunately, a soft carpet cushioned their fall, preventing any harm to Vincent.

"Sorry, sorry, I got too excited!" Seeing that she had knocked Vincent over, May quickly wiped her tears, attempting to help Vincent back up.

For so reason, when she’s with Vincent, her intelligence seems to drop to zero, almost like in his presence, she’s ant to be a child.

Smiling, Vincent pulled May’s arm, drawing her back into his embrace, and they lay on the ground, nestled together.

The nearby servant saw this, blushing, and awkwardly retreated.

"May, don’t get up just yet, let hold you like this a little longer..." Slling the lovely fragrance of her hair, Vincent suddenly spoke a bit wistfully, "After tonight, you’re going back to him, aren’t you?"

May had promised Victor Grant that after tonight, she would return and live well with him, but she didn’t want to bring this up now, because thinking of Victor made her feel uneasy.

Things had reached such a dilemma, she couldn’t pinpoint whose fault it was. Victor loved her genuinely, and Vincent had pushed her to Victor to protect her; neither of them was wrong. Was it her fault?

Perhaps, perhaps she shouldn’t have accepted Victor’s proposal out of spite, or maybe, from the very beginning, during her hardest tis, she shouldn’t have entangled with Victor. Now, he’s serious about her, if she lets him down, that would be her fault, her punishnt.
