Jacob Jennings felt a pang of discomfort as he wandered around the bedroom. He turned and went to the study, where he opened the safe and took out a delicate jewelry box.
Inside the box was the only piece of jewelry he had ever given to May Morgan—her wedding ring, the Star of Extre Night. May had never been a woman who coveted wealth and luxury. He didn’t have ti to buy it for her, and she couldn’t be bothered to shop for it herself. Although he gave her a card to spend as she pleased, her greatest joy seed to be in curling up with a comic book or binge-watching shows under the covers.
Sotis, he would tease her for being too easy to please, joking that she was wasting her husband’s talent for making money. But May would stubbornly argue back, saying she loved these simple pleasures and couldn’t care less about bags or jewelry.
Holding that wedding ring in his hand, Jacob felt he owed May so much. She had been unwilling at their marriage, had rely gone through the formalities, and now, without asking for anything or giving him a chance, she left.
Brianna White knocked on the door with a late-night snack, catching Jacob in a reverie with the dazzling ring in his hand, her eyes nearly popping out.

Seeing him about to return the ring to the safe, Brianna’s eyes lit up as she hurriedly said to Jacob, ’President Vance, since Miss Morgan doesn’t want it, why not give it to ?’
Jacob had anticipated Brianna’s request for the ring but wasn’t ready to give it to her yet, so he deflected, "This is a wedding ring. Isn’t it inappropriate for you to have it?"
Brianna gave an awkward laugh, shyly lowering her head, softly saying to Jacob, ’President Vance, didn’t you promise to give an explanation?’
Jacob smiled faintly, reaching out to hold Brianna’s fingers, gently tracing them in his palm: ’Certainly, but I’ve just signed the divorce agreent with May. We’re not formally divorced yet. Everyone knows I bought this ring as a gift for my wife. If I give it to you now, what will people say?’
"I see, I was too hasty." After Jacob’s explanation, Brianna, though reluctant, could only endure it.
Seeing she agreed, Jacob released her hand, returned the jewelry to the safe.
"After all, this ring belongs to my ex-wife. Giving it to you wouldn’t be genuine. How about I take you to buy a new one tomorrow?"
Brianna knew quality; this Star of Extre Night was unparalleled, worth millions, incomparable to those worth re millions on the market.
If she could get this ring, even if Jacob left her soday, selling it would fetch tens of millions. She wouldn’t lose out.
Besides, because it was a gift from Jacob to May, she was determined to get it—to unsettle that woman, so she couldn’t rest easy.

Hearing Jacob promise to propose and give her the Star of Extre Night made Brianna beam with delight. She quickly smiled happily, kissed Jacob on the cheek.
"Darling, can I stay with you tonight?" Brianna seized the chance to wrap her arms around Jacob’s neck, coquettishly seeking affection.
Jacob gave a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, telling Brianna, ’Not tonight. You should head ho. I’m too tired tonight, but we’ll spend ti together another day.’
Brianna, upset with being sent away again, pouted, "Darling, why do you always have excuses to send off? Don’t you like ?"
Hearing this, Jacob reached out, cradled Brianna’s head, kissed her forehead gently, speaking softly: ’How could that be? You’re the only one in my heart now; besides you, I like no one.’

"Be good. I’m really exhausted tonight. My sister’s issues took up my whole day. I truly have no energy to accompany you. Please head ho, okay?"
Jacob’s patience was thinning; if not for needing to maintain harmony with Brianna, he would’ve thrown this vexing woman out. But for now, he endured for the sake of the bigger picture.
After Jacob’s calm yet persuasive words, Brianna finally left Zenith Villa. Once she was gone, Jacob imdiately returned to the study and called Jacob Jennings.
"Find soone to make a replica of the Star of Extre Night identical to the original. Yes, I need it."
