Vincent must have guessed the outco, so he gave a faint smile and turned to the director, saying, "Then, can you please help verify lody White’s DNA? I want to know whether the woman lying in the morgue now is lody White or that nurse Lawson."

"Understood, I’ll arrange for soone to do it as soon as possible." Since this is a hospital, DNA verification is quite convenient; the hospital has Lawson’s records, and within an hour, the deceased’s DNA had been verified.

The result, however, shocked everyone. It turned out that the woman lying in the morgue was not lody White at all but the hospital’s nurse Lawson.

Upon hearing this news, Vincent’s brow furrowed even deeper. If it was Lawson who died, then it was lody White who left.

No, maybe lody White isn’t lody White, but lanie?

Or perhaps, she is now an even more terrifying creature?

"Call the precinct and ask the forensic team to recheck lanie’s DNA structure to see if it matches the original."

This matter is truly bizarre. To get to the bottom of it, Vincent didn’t dare be careless and quickly ordered Jacob to call the precinct to re-examine lanie’s body.

Jacob also found lanie’s death increasingly suspicious, so he quickly took out his phone and called soone at the precinct. About two hours later, news ca from there, confirming yet another of Vincent’s suspicions.

The body indeed wasn’t lanie’s, and it didn’t match lanie’s DNA samples stored in the database at all. Moreover, after a second examination, they discovered that the aging of the body was not at all like that of a woman in her twenties, but rather like a middle-aged woman in her fifties.

Further testing showed that the person had suffered from a severe heart condition before death, and the skin’s aging was also puzzling. Although well-maintained, it was evident this wasn’t the body of a woman in her twenties.

After hearing the forensic report, Vincent glanced again at the photo of lody White’s body, suddenly brightened up, and instructed Jacob, "Let them test again to see if the owner of the body at the police station matches lody White’s DNA."

Jacob nodded and, without a word, went out with his phone. About an hour later, the police station reported back, confirming Vincent’s suspicion: the body at the station was indeed lody White’s.

If the body at the police station is lody White’s, and the one at the hospital, which was supposed to be her body, is a nurse’s, does that an lanie is still alive?

If she’s still alive, why has she caused so much trouble repeatedly? Was it even at the cost of killing her own mother to escape?

Or has she mastered so kind of terrifying Poisonous Insect Technique that allows her to swap faces with others at will?

"Young Master, what now? Should we issue a citywide alert for the missing nurse?" Jacob thought that, since lanie has taken to wandering outside with the nurse’s face, they should issue an alert for that woman’s appearance.

Vincent looked at Jacob and, with furrowed brows, waved to dismiss the idea, denying: "No. If lanie truly has mastered a secret technique for taking faces, a citywide alert would only push her to kill and change faces again, leading to more innocent deaths."

"Then what to do? Just let that woman remain at large?" Jacob unwillingly asked again.

Vincent let out a bitter laugh and said helplessly, "If she simply wants to save her own life, letting her be free wouldn’t matter. I’m just afraid she’s made so pact with dangerous people, and her ambitions might grow with her abilities. Once she feels she can do whatever she wants, who do you think she’d target first?"

Hearing this, Jacob was startled, and reluctantly uttered the two words, "May Morgan?"

"Exactly!" Vincent almost nodded without hesitation, analyzing: "The two sisters were more enemies than family to begin with. Plus, May disfigured her face for revenge and drove her to the point of desperation. Given lanie’s grudging nature, if she acquires so unknown power, she would definitely first seek revenge on May."

"Then... won’t the young mistress be in great danger?"

"May is indeed in great danger right now. Not only is there lanie, but also those under the old man; she’s the old man’s only hope for survival. Since she miscarried, the old man will surely take more extre asures against us."

Taking a deep breath, Vincent suddenly stood up from his chair, looking at Jacob with resolute eyes, "Jacob, the plan must go on, and for May’s safety, we must act quickly."

Discussing their plan, Jacob worriedly said to Vincent, "Young Master, are you really sure about this? But what if the young mistress doesn’t want to co back to you?"

Vincent’s eyes flashed with a hint of sadness. He never wanted to lose May, but to ensure peaceful days in the future, he had to take this risky step.

"If she truly falls in love with soone else, I’ll choose to bless her. But if I currently lack the ability to protect her, I’d rather place her in another man’s care."

Vincent sighed deeply, speaking to Jacob with a bitter smile.

Jacob and Vincent shuttled back and forth between the hospital and police station, busy until almost evening before they had a mont of respite. Jacob was about to take Vincent ho to rest, but Vincent, thinking about the never-ending war between Maxwell and May, couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.

"It’s better to head back to the company for now; I don’t want to go ho at the mont." Vincent instructed Jacob while rubbing his throbbing temples.

With a complex expression, Jacob glanced at Vincent, aware that he was torn between the two won at ho, and couldn’t help but ask, "Since you know the young mistress and the eldest lady don’t get along, why keep them together? With the young mistress’s temper, she might really hit the eldest lady."

Vincent didn’t want Maxwell living at Zenith Villa either, but now that Adam wants nothing to do with Maxwell, where else could she go but stay at his house?

Besides, May got herself into this trouble, so she deserved to deal with it.

"She wouldn’t dare, nor would she. Although May speaks harshly at tis, she has limits. Maxwell is pregnant; she wouldn’t harm an innocent child."

"The young mistress might not, but the eldest lady isn’t as kind. You shouldn’t have let her move in initially. Now, surely, the young mistress hates the eldest lady."

Vincent’s fingers paused slightly on his temple as he replied in a flat tone, "Regarding the child, I’ll give May an explanation in due ti. But for now, we’ll have to make her endure."
