Although this is the Owens Family’s mansion, it’s still full of risks everywhere, so it’s best to avoid the ones you can.
Moreover, the food outside isn’t exactly clean, and May Morgan is pregnant. If she were to get food poisoning, it wouldn’t be good.
Just as May put the pastries back in their place, she heard a girl calling her na from behind: "May? You really ca?"
May thought the voice was familiar, so she turned her head to look and realized it was Adam Owens’ classmate, seemingly nad Nina.
This girl got along well with Adam Owens, so she was also very familiar with his ex-girlfriend May. May had shared a few als with her before, so they were quite acquainted.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, May stood up from her chair and quickly greeted Nina: "Nina, you ca to Adam’s wedding too?"
"Yeah, we’re friends, right? Since he’s getting married, of course I have to co. Hey, hold on a second!" After a few words, Nina turned around and quickly ran off, bringing back a large crowd of guys and girls. May noticed that they were all Adam’s friends from back in the day.
Seeing these people appear in front of her, May regretted coming to the wedding. They all knew about her relationship with Adam, and what if, during their conversations, they accidentally said sothing they shouldn’t?
Nina, with her quick mouth, grabbed May’s hand and eagerly asked, "May, I’ve been wanting to ask you, back then, you and Adam were so close, how did you end up breaking up?"
Another girl quickly chid in: ’Yeah, how did Adam suddenly decide to marry Maxwell Vance’s sister? How are you doing now? I heard from Maxwell that you’ve also gotten married, is that true?’
After asking, the girl glanced at Jacob Jennings next to her. Seeing Jacob’s towering figure and handso deanor, she couldn’t help but gossipingly ask May: ’Is this your husband? He’s so handso, May, you have great taste.’
Jacob blushed at the remark, coughed awkwardly, and quickly explained to everyone: "Everyone, this is my wife."
The crowd gasped: "Oh, your wife? So you really married into a rich family? Seems like it’s an even richer family than the Owens. What does your husband look like? Is he as handso as Adam?"
May felt she really couldn’t answer their questions, so she awkwardly wanted to leave: "Sorry, my stomach feels a bit upset, I need to step out for a mont."
With her hand on her stomach and her head lowered, she planned to make her escape, but she had taken only two steps when a large hand shot out and pulled her back.
"Is your husband really so embarrassing that you can’t even bother to introduce ?" Vincent Vance pulled May back and looked around with an aristocratic smile: "Everyone, I am May’s husband, Vincent."
"Wow, that’s Vincent Vance? He’s even more handso than the photos in the dia."
"It’s definitely him, May, your husband’s face is a waste not to be on the big screen."
Everyone’s eyes sparkled as they gushed over Vincent’s strikingly handso face.
Quickly, Vincent, who was supposed to be a side character at the wedding, instantly beca a dazzling diamond, threatening to steal the groom’s spotlight.
Maxwell, standing nearby, felt a surge of anger and could not resist lifting her skirt to push through the crowd: "Everyone, today is my wedding!"
As she spoke, Adam suddenly appeared behind Maxwell, lightly placing his hand on her shoulder, quietly advising her, "Don’t be petty like this, we don’t want an unpleasant scene later."
Maxwell glared at Adam, but seeing him talking to her while his gaze remained fixed on May, refusing to move away even for a mont.
Coincidentally, a girl next to her spoke with intense admiration towards May: ’Wow, May, who picked out that dress for you? It looks amazing on you.’
Everybody was again full of praise: "Doesn’t she look much better than before? Her aura is completely different."
"Right? I think she’s even more beautiful now that she’s married, more mature and charming. In fact, I think she’s prettier than the bride."
That last comnt: "Prettier than the bride!" truly infuriated Maxwell, who turned to see a glass of juice on the nearby table, grabbed it, and splashed it on May’s face.
"Ah!" The crowd watched as May was doused with juice, with so timid girls screaming in fright.
May stood there, dumbfounded, for a good half minute before she realized what had happened.
Vincent quickly took out a handkerchief to help wipe the juice from her face, but May blocked him.
A fierce glint flashed in her eyes as she turned to glare at Maxwell, who was looking at her with a venomous gaze.
Indeed, it was this woman who threw the juice.
Maxwell glared back at May, then arrogantly tossed the empty juice glass aside and provocatively looked at her.
As the bride today, no matter what, her brother wouldn’t let May ruin her wedding, so she was confident May wouldn’t retaliate for the juice.
Sure enough, as May started towards Maxwell, Vincent quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
"Be good, after the wedding, I’ll help you settle scores with her!" Vincent firmly held onto May’s arm, not allowing her to move an inch.
To prevent May from causing any trouble for Maxwell, Vincent kept a grip on May while loudly instructing Adam: "Adam, the wedding’s about to start, take Maxwell to the back."
Adam seed to snap out of it, first giving May an apologetic look, then swiftly led Maxwell away, out of May’s sight.
Once Maxwell and Adam left, Vincent quickly called Jacob to keep an eye on May: "Watch over her, don’t let any more trouble happen."
Jacob understood the seriousness of the situation and quietly whispered to May: ’Missus, the young mistress splashed you with juice, but the master will definitely get an explanation for you. However, it’s their wedding, and so many people are watching. Please, try not to be too willful.’
Willful? Who on earth did she provoke? Getting splashed with juice for no reason, who’s being willful here?
Knowing today was her wedding, she should bear it and not seek trouble, right? What’s the aning behind that? She’s the queen today, the boss, and no one can touch her, is that it?
