Maxwell heard that the wedding dress had arrived, and quickly ran over to pick it up. The dress hadn’t even been delivered to the villa yet, and she rushed over to inspect it: "It’s finished so soon? Is the quality okay? If not, it’ll have to be sent back for rework."

Maxwell clutched the wedding dress on the mannequin, examining it repeatedly, feeling like sothing was missing. Indeed, although this wedding dress was exquisite, it was sowhat tacky compared to the one Vincent chose for May.

"Why does this feel so cheap? It’s nowhere near as nice as the one my brother picked for his wedding."

Maxwell had seen May’s wedding dress when it was completed. A million-dollar wedding dress naturally had the effects and value of such, and besides, Vincent had better taste than Maxwell. The wedding dress he personally chose was, of course, magnificent. But Maxwell insisted on a Rococo style and wanted the dress to be so long that the designer had to make it sowhat ostentatious.

The value of the dress was there, with real jewel inlays and genuine diamonds, but the style was indeed a bit gaudy.

Adam also ca out from the villa, and upon hearing what Maxwell said, couldn’t help but complain: "You chose the style yourself. Now you find it tacky, who’s to bla?"

"You!" Maxwell was so infuriated by Adam’s words that her face turned white and couldn’t help but retort: "Bla ? When my brother married May, he personally selected the wedding dress. But you? I wanted you to choose it with , and you made all sorts of excuses. Now you think my choice is tacky?"

Adam couldn’t be bothered to argue with Maxwell, he rolled his eyes and intended to leave: "I can’t be bothered with you."

"You can’t leave; stand still, Adam. We’re all busy with this wedding, and you’re the only one acting like it’s nothing. What do you an by that? Isn’t this your wedding too?"

Maxwell grabbed Adam’s hand, furiously questioning him.

Adam had enough of Maxwell’s relentless argunt, especially since they just fought over the photos earlier. Adam was utterly annoyed, and simply shook off Maxwell’s hand, intending to walk away.

As a result, he accidentally threw Maxwell hard to the ground. Had it not been for the soft grass beneath her feet, Adam’s push could have caused quite an incident.

Seeing Maxwell thrown to the ground by Adam, Vincent quickly opened the car door and got out.

Upon seeing this, May also followed him and got out.

Adam never expected May to be there, so he suddenly stopped in his tracks, staring dumbfoundedly at May.

Vincent went to Maxwell’s side first, helped her up from the grass, and saw she wasn’t seriously hurt. His anger slightly subsided.

"Adam, didn’t you know Maxwell is pregnant?" Vincent sternly questioned Adam.

Adam quickly averted his gaze from May’s face, quietly answering Vincent: "I knew..."

"You knew and still treated her this way?" Vincent’s face turned cold, and he spoke again, his tone extrely unpleasant.

Adam was about to speak when May suddenly approached him, glaring and said: "Adam, I don’t care what misunderstanding you have with Maxwell, but treating a woman like this makes you very unpleasant."

Being disliked by the woman he loved made Adam feel embarrassed. He was about to explain when May quickly spoke again: "The child is yours, the wedding is one you agreed to. Don’t tell you’re unwilling. If you were unwilling, you shouldn’t have hard the girl in the first place. Since you chose to compromise with fate, live out the rest of your life properly. Otherwise, the child will suffer even more once born."

Adam knew May despised irresponsible n who didn’t take care of their children, as her father was such a person. What she hated most were n who abandoned their wives and children.

Yet after all this turmoil, Adam ultimately beca the kind of man crushed by fate.

"I’m sorry, but I really can’t do it, I don’t love her."

Adam felt very distressed. The kind of gut-wrenching tornt of being pushed to take responsibility for a woman he didn’t love by the woman he cared deeply about was sothing he never wanted to experience again in his life.

May turned to look at Maxwell behind Adam, suddenly feeling sorry for her: "You couldn’t love her, so why did you get involved with her in the first place?"

"I was set up, drugged, I don’t rember what I did."

These words had been pent up in Adam’s heart for so long. Event after event kept him from explaining this to anyone. That day, he had simply had a cup of coffee and ended up with Maxwell. How could it happen so coincidently? Sothing wasn’t right, was it?

Adam, with a face full of tornt, held his head in his hands. The tall man, over six feet, crouched on the ground, making onlookers’ hearts ache.

"May, I never wanted to wrong you. On grandpa’s birthday banquet, I really didn’t want to get involved with Maxwell. I was drugged; I don’t even rember what happened. What do you want to do? Now a child inexplicably appeared, and the whole family is forcing to take responsibility for Maxwell and the unborn child. What can I do?"

May looked down at Adam squatting painfully on the ground. At that mont, her face full of anger turned into sympathy.

She knew Adam was not lying, he was telling the truth. So, who was the person that drugged him?

Was it Maxwell herself, or... Vincent?

May looked complexly at Vincent, her suspicions evident. Vincent saw the doubt in her eyes and couldn’t help but frown.

He pushed Maxwell away, turned, and walked to May’s side: "May, your health can’t take it, co back with ."

He knew May was doubting him, but he had done nothing, so his conscience was clear. But this matter couldn’t be explained in front of everyone, or it would beco a laughingstock.

When Vincent tried to pull May away, May suddenly pulled her hand behind her back, stubbornly saying: "I just arrived, and haven’t even t my aunt and uncle yet. Is it appropriate to leave?"

After saying this, May deliberately bypassed Vincent and walked to Maxwell’s side, reaching out to pull her: "Co on, Maxwell, I’ll help you inside."

Maxwell hated May to the core, and glared at her, pushing her chest hard: "Get lost!"

This push caught May off guard, obviously not expecting it. She was suddenly shoved to the ground by Maxwell, with a sharp pain in her abdon.

Vincent was scared, hurriedly ca over to check on May, only to see her face pale as if injured. He quickly and carefully picked May up from the ground, rushing towards his car.
