Vincent generally wouldn’t be this harsh on won, but there are always exceptions. lanie, that bitch, is just too detestable. If not for saving May and needing to keep her pathetic life, he would rather skin her alive slice by slice to vent his anger.

After being stomped to the ground by Vincent, lanie instantly found it hard to breathe, feeling as though several ribs were broken. She feebly held onto Vincent’s leg, desperately begging him to let her go: "Vincent, I was wrong, please don’t treat like this, I’m in so much pain..."

"Now you know pain? When you were harming May, did you not think she was in pain too? You bitch, I really should slice the flesh off your body piece by piece, let you taste the suffering of being dismbered!" Vincent’s face showed a vicious glow as he couldn’t help but threaten lanie through gritted teeth.

Gasping for breath, lanie cried to Vincent, "I didn’t want this either, it was your grandfather who made do it, what else could I have done?"

"You had no choice? The act of poisoning May with the Dragon Insect, making her life worse than death, was also instigated by my grandfather? lanie, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to? You malicious woman, you’re unworthy of living in this world!"

As soon as Vincent finished speaking, he suddenly pressed down hard with his foot, causing lanie to moan in pain.

Beside them, Jacob saw that the tornt had probably gone far enough, so he kindly stepped forward to persuade Vincent: "Master, that’s probably enough. If you keep going, this woman will die!"

"Let her die, such a vicious woman doesn’t deserve to live in this world!" Vincent coldly glared at the woman beneath his foot as he suddenly drew the gun from Jacob’s waist and quickly loaded it.

"I’m giving you one last chance. Tell , is there an antidote for the Dragon Insect in May?"

Vincent aid the loaded gun at lanie’s forehead, his gaze cold as he questioned her.

In fact, lanie herself didn’t know whether there was a cure for the Dragon Insect, but she now understood that if she dared to say there was no way, Vincent would definitely pull the trigger without rcy.

So, even though she was unsure herself, she had to grit her teeth and lie: "Yes, there is."

Vincent felt a slight sense of relief, but his expression remained stern as he pressed lanie further: "Alright, tell , what’s the thod?"

lanie’s eyes shifted slightly as she hastily tried to fool Vincent: "I-I don’t know. I don’t raise insects, the one in May was arranged by an old woman I found locally."

"You don’t know? Hmm?"

Upon hearing lanie’s words, Vincent imdiately bent down, pressing the muzzle directly against her forehead, scaring her so much her face turned pale, nearly screaming out loud.

"Don’t, don’t kill . Even though I don’t know how to break the spell, I can take you to find that old woman. Don’t kill . If you kill , you’ll never have a way to save May." lanie pleaded with all her might to Vincent.

The gun’s deterrence was indeed overwhelming, and lanie pretty much confessed all her secrets. Jacob on the side saw that it was about enough and once again tried to advise Vincent, "Master, I think lanie truly doesn’t know how to break the spell. She’s just a native of Silverwood City; how could she be involved with sothing as sinister as the Poisonous Insect Technique? If you kill her, how are we going to find the person to break the spell later?"

Jacob’s analysis was correct, and Vincent knew that too, but he couldn’t ascertain how much truth lanie had told him, so he thought he’d test her further.

"Since you’ve seen what that woman looks like, then draw a good likeness of her. I’ll have Director Lawson help find her!"

Vincent temporarily put away the gun and instructed Jacob: "Go find a digital artist to co over. I need the image as soon as possible."

"Alright!"

Jacob agreed and quickly went to make arrangents. Finding a digital artist was easy, and the Zenith Villa had all the equipnt. It wasn’t long before everything was set up.

However, the portrait wouldn’t be quick; it required gradual adjustnts and tracing, taking at least half an hour to complete.

Vincent was sitting on a chair in the basent, watching lanie guide the artist on the computer when soone from upstairs ca and reported, May had woken up!

Hearing that May was awake, Vincent could no longer sit still. He stood up and instructed Jacob: "Keep a close eye on this woman, and if she dares to play any tricks, don’t hold back!"

Keeping a close eye ant observing lanie’s every expression, watching for any sign of deceit while drawing. Jacob seed to understand this, so he nodded in agreent: "Understood, you want to go upstairs to see the young madam, right? I’ll send you the picture once it’s ready on your phone!"

"Alright!" Vincent nodded, then turned and disappeared from the basent, heading upstairs to see May.

lanie looked up at his quickly disappearing figure, touching her chest, throbbing with pain from Vincent’s kick, a trace of loss flashing in her eyes.

Jacob saw this and mocked her in a low voice: "Now you regret it? You didn’t look so forlorn when you betrayed our master back then."

lanie bit her lip, unwilling to give up, arguing with Jacob: "It was that bitch May who set up. I never slept with Victor Grant."

"Ha, does it still matter? Do you even know what self-respect ans? Perhaps you’ll never understand, but even if you didn’t sleep with so other man, the master might not have been interested in you given how vicious you are!"

"Why? He clearly chose at first, then if it weren’t for May..."

"It seems you don’t believe in fate? Did you think impersonators could last long? lanie, how could you be so foolish? You’ve been working with the old man for a while now, haven’t you noticed his plan to have the master marry a Morgan woman was just a trap? Do you think you could hide it forever?"

Jacob’s lips curled slightly as he surveyed lanie, both ruthless and naive: "Besides, even if the original choice was you, do you think your fate would be any better than May’s now?"

"This..."

Jacob’s words left lanie speechless, unable to utter a single word.

Because everyone involved knew that the marriage to a Morgan daughter was indeed a conspiracy orchestrated by the old man alone.

So, as Jacob said, if the one holding the Jade Pendant had truly been her, lanie, perhaps her situation would still be no better than May’s now?

After waking up, May didn’t call for the servants imdiately but first anxiously lifted the covers to check her thigh. When the car crash happened, her thigh indeed bled a lot from being hit, and the tearing pain of her skin was particularly vivid. She was afraid that the wound might suddenly heal like before, so the first thing she did after waking was to lift the covers and check her injury.
