After she finished speaking, she tugged on May Morgan’s hand, signaling her to bow to Arthur Vance, but despite pulling twice, May acted as if she didn’t see it at all, standing there motionless.

Arthur Vance noticed that May was looking at him with an indifferent expression, and coldly reprimanded her, "What kind of look is that? After all, I am your grandfather, and you’re this disrespectful? Weren’t you raised properly?"

May thought of the things this old bastard had done to her and of her grandmother’s tragic death, and felt such hatred that her teeth itched. Bow to him? Not in this lifeti. Maybe when he dies, she might even celebrate by lighting firecrackers at his grave.

"I have no manners because I’m from the countryside, how would I understand your city ways? But my grandmother once told two things I can’t do. First, don’t be ungrateful; second, don’t be a backstabber. So, even if I lack manners, it’s better than so people who preach righteousness but are actually disgusting bastards at heart!"

"Disrespectful, who are you insulting?" Clearly, May’s words were insinuating Arthur Vance’s despicable nature. Given his old age and notorious temper, how could he tolerate this impudent little girl being so brash in front of him?

He slapped his palm on the heavy wood table, startling everyone present. Audrey Vance noticed her father’s fury and quickly pulled May to sit at the dining table.

"What’s wrong with you, girl? What kind of occasion is this? Don’t talk nonsense and upset your grandfather."

Audrey, dragging and pulling, seated May next to Vincent Vance before returning to her own seat.

Sitting right beside her father and noticing his angry expression, she kindly tried to smooth things over for May, "Dad, don’t bla May for her unpleasant words; her grandmother just passed away, and she’s not in a good mood."

Arthur Vance sighed to himself, glanced at May, and then said, "Let’s eat!"

Butler Lawson heard and quickly instructed the servants to bring the dishes one by one. After so polite small talk among everyone, the banquet officially began.

Vincent Vance, taking advantage of everyone being busy flattering Arthur Vance, asked May quietly and with a grim expression, "Why did you co? Didn’t you agree not to go anywhere today?"

May looked across at Logan Vance, feeling sowhat unwilling, and asked Vincent, "Did Logan say my sister is living at the Vance Residence? Is it true?"

Vincent, taken aback by May’s sudden questioning, stumbled over his words, "I’m not really sure. Don’t listen to Logan. You know what kind of person he is."

"Really?" May gave Vincent a complex look and suddenly pulled her phone out of her pocket, showing him so photos, "These are photos Logan sent this morning. Look, isn’t this the Vance Residence?"

The photos were secretly taken. lanie’s location was indeed the back garden of the Vance Residence; Vincent could tell imdiately that the woman in the pictures was lanie, and the place was undoubtedly the Vance Residence.

Looking at these photos, Vincent’s already bad expression turned even darker.

He glanced at Logan, who t his gaze with a vague look. Logan rely smiled lightly at him and soon continued his cheerful conversation with Adam Owens, wine in hand.

"Did Logan give you the photos? What else did he tell you?" Vincent turned his gaze away from Logan and suddenly asked May.

May looked at him, hesitated, then said, "You wouldn’t want to know, forget it. I ca today to take lanie out of the Vance Residence. Don’t stop , or I won’t be polite with you."

Taking lanie out of the Vance Residence was sothing Vincent had wanted to do. He figured, since lanie’s presence at the Vance Residence was confird, he would find ways to get her out. But May was pregnant and needed to be cautious in her actions, so it’s best to get her out first.

"After dinner, leave with Jacob Jennings first. I’ll help you get lanie out of the Vance Residence and hand her over to Director Lawson for them to take care of, listen to ."

Vincent lowered his voice, trying to persuade May with gentle words.

Since May was here, she had no intention of leaving. If she could fully trust Vincent, she wouldn’t have needed to co and could have directly sent these photos to his phone.

"Let’s eat first; I’m hungry!" Not wanting to deal with Vincent, May simply picked up her chopsticks and started eating, not saying another word after that.

During the al, she constantly felt a pair of eyes staring at her from across the table. She knew whose eyes those were; they were Adam Owens’s. He was sitting opposite her, and every ti she looked up, he’d stare at her for quite a while.

She now felt nothing for Adam Owens, so when he stared at her, the burning gaze only made her feel awkward and uncomfortable.

Beside her, Maxwell Vance, sowhat annoyed, tugged at Adam Owens, pulling his head away from May, "Adam, are you full? If so, let’s go sit in the garden?"

Adam Owens was about to refuse, but Audrey Vance quickly chid in, "Yes, Adam, there’s a natural hot spring pool in the back garden of the Vance Residence. It’s perfect for your leg to soak and help the recovery of your wound."

"Yes, yes, hurry up." With Audrey’s help, Maxwell quickly dragged Adam away from the banquet to the back garden.

Vincent Vance ate a few bites but had no appetite to continue. He put down his chopsticks and, seeing May also set hers down, quietly said to her, "Shall we go for a walk outside?"

May nodded with an "Mm," stood up, and left with Vincent. Since she ca to find lanie, sitting at the dining table wouldn’t accomplish anything, so going out for a stroll might yield results.

Once she and Vincent stepped out of the villa, Vincent pulled out his phone and called Jacob Jennings, "Jacob Jennings, drive back to the Vance Residence and take the young lady ho."

Hearing this, May angrily yelled at Vincent, "What are you doing? I’m not going ho."

Vincent didn’t want to argue with her here, trying to pacify her with gentle words, "You ca here to take your sister out for the law to handle, right? I’ll do it for you."

Seeing May still staring stubbornly at him, Vincent tried earnestly to convince her, "Do you think I ca here just for the birthday celebration? I wouldn’t have co if I didn’t know your sister is at the Vance Residence. Rest assured, since I’m here, I definitely won’t leave empty-handed."

"No, you don’t understand. You won’t find her." May gave Vincent a complicated look, suddenly turning to run toward the back garden, "My revenge, I’ll take care of it myself, without your help."
