Ling Xiaoxuan was sowhat confused, her drowsiness vanishing, mouth slightly ajar.
She woke up and made a noise, drawing the attention of the Mountain Demon.
It quickly turned its head, fixing its huge copper-bell eyes onto Xiaoxuan and drooling profusely onto the floor.

Staring at the monster’s true face, Xiaoxuan’s usually soft and charming voice broke, releasing a sharp screeching tone that hurt the ears.
In response, Qin Ruan squinted her eyes and smugly pulled a face, touching her tornted ears.
She didn’t know that her senior could produce such a robust, sharp high-pitched scream.
She also wondered if the people in the dorms upstairs and downstairs had been awoken by her screams.

Shaking, Xiaoxuan clutched at Qin Ruan’s clothes.
“Why does it keep staring at ?” she asked, her voice trembling.
“Is this the demon you said would co to find in your dream?”

With a smirk on her face, Qin Ruan’s voice sounded eerily calm.

Seeing that the Mountain Demon was still staring at her, Xiaoxuan began to feel hopeless.
Just then, the Mountain Demon lunged towards them, its heavy steps echoing in the room.
With a cold expression, Qin Ruan warned in a serious tone, “Senior sister, protect yourself!”
The mont the words left Qin Ruan’s mouth, she was already charging towards the Mountain Demon.
Her fair hand began to glow with a thin golden light as thin as a thread.
As the Mountain Demon raised its arms, sharp claws gleaming from its furry palms.
It swiped its claws towards Qin Ruan, who would certainly be sent flying by this attack.
“Qin Ruan!
Be careful!”
Xiaoxuan watched the scene and scread in fear.
Qin Ruan evaded the Mountain Demon’s attack at the last second with her swift movents.
Simultaneously, she aid her golden thread-like glow at the Mountain Demon’s head.
The beast paw struck the cabinet beside Xiaoxuan’s bed, claws sinking deep into the wood.
Before it could draw back, its body collapsed heavily onto the ground.
The mont the Nether Divine Power was released, the Mountain Demon lost its ability to move.
Swallowing, Qin Ruan stared at the Mountain Demon fallen on the ground, her heart pounding.
This was her first encounter with a spirit monster; it was impossible not to be nervous.
When the Mountain Demon took its swipe, her heart nearly leapt out of her chest.

With shaky legs, Xiaoxuan circumvented the Mountain Demon’s body as large as a hill and walked up to Qin Ruan.

Qin Ruan shook her head at her and pointed at the fallen Mountain Demon.
“Where have you been recently that you managed to get on the wrong side of this thing?”
Normally, Mountain Demons could only be found deep in the mountains or in old forests; it was rare to see one in the city.
“Huh?” Xiaoxuan stared in confusion, wide-eyed and blinking, utterly clueless.
Qin Ruan’s icy gaze held a hint of ferocity.
“If I weren’t here tonight, this thing would have already taken your life.”
