Chapter 157: The Person was Suspicious
Feng Jia looked at the ti. It was past six in the afternoon, and it was getting dark. He asked her, “Do you want to wipe your body?”
Hearing his question, Gu Chu suddenly beca anxious. “Quick! Go to the lodging and bring my suitcase over!”
She sounded so anxious that Feng Jia thought sothing was wrong. She patted her face and said, “I haven’t used a facial cleanser and any skin care products for three days! If I don’t save it now, I won’t be your little rose, but a cactus!”
Feng Jia: “...”
He didn’t expect that this vixen who was lying on the hospital bed, cared so much about her face.
He was speechless for a mont. Then, he paused and said, “I’ll ask the nurse to get it.”
“No!” Gu Chu copied what he said earlier, “There’s confidential information in there. What if it goes missing? We’ll lose our joint assets!”
Feng Jia pinched her cheek and sighed. “I’ll get the nurse to watch over you. If you’re tired, sleep for a while. I’ll co back and help you wipe your body.”
Gu Chu rushed him. “Go quickly!”
After he left, Gu Chu sent a Wechat ssage to Lin Yu. “I’ve already convinced the owner. The remaining nineteen households should not object to the construction.”
Lin Yu was probably busy and did not reply to her for the ti being. She was a little bored, so she started watching a TV series.
Just as she was engrossed in watching it, the nurse suddenly walked over and said, “Miss Gu, did you order millet congee?”
“Ah?” Gu Chu looked up and saw the millet congee in her hand. She was a little confused. “I didn’t order it. Maybe you’re mistaken?”
The nurse replied, “He said that you ordered it this morning.”
Gu Chu said, “Oh, put it down first. I’ll ask Feng Jia when he cos back.”
The nurse was responsible and reminded Gu Chu, “Miss Gu, your eyes haven’t fully recovered yet. Don’t stare at your phone for too long, or it’ll hurt your eyes.”
She acknowledged it and turned it off when she saw that there was still half of the episode left.
Gu Chu sent a ssage to Feng Jia. “Have you found the place?”
“Yes.” Feng Jia arrived just in ti and was about to open the door.
“Did you order millet congee for this morning?”
“No.”
Sure enough, they were mistaken.
Gu Chu glanced at the millet congee and rested her chin on one hand. She sent him a voice ssage when he had nothing to do. “Feng Jia, co back quickly. I’m scared!”
Feng Jia’s mouth twitched when he heard her coquettish words.
He didn’t reply, but his hands moved faster. Soon, he stuffed all her things into the suitcase.
He left the lodging and saw a sea of red flowers in front of the door.
“Mr. Feng.”
Soone called him from behind. He turned around and saw two policen. One was surnad Zhang, and the other was surnad Li.
Feng Jia nodded and saw that they were holding notebooks in their hands. He asked, “Are you checking the surroundings?”
“Yes, I just got to know the situation from the people nearby,” Officer Li replied.
“Thank you for your hard work. Then I won’t bother you two.” Feng Jia pulled the suitcase and was about to leave when he suddenly thought of sothing and asked, “Officer Li, the person who claid to be Li Xiu’s neighbor and caught her son, did you also question him?”
“It’s strange. We’ve been asking around all day and none of the neighbors knew him. Only soone had seen him in the neighborhood. We called him, but it’s not a valid number,” Officer Li said with a frown.
Feng Jia frowned. That was indeed suspicious. He asked, “What’s his na?”
“Jia Ming.”
Jia Ming? A fake na? Feng Jia said coldly, “Do you have a photo of him?”
Officer Li took out his phone and said, “We took his photo from the surveillance cara.”
Feng Jia took a look and found that he was about 40 years old. He looked ordinary, but there was a tattoo on his arm which looked like a scorpion.
At this ti, a notification popped up. Feng Jia opened it and saw that it was from a colleague of Officer Li.
“I found two people who looked similar in the facial recognition system. One is called Wang Yong, from Chengdu, and he is working there. The other is called Pan Zhen, from Zhuhai. He is currently working as a courier for a delivery company in Haicheng City. He should be one of these two people.”
Feng Jia imdiately noticed the other person behind him.
He was from Haicheng City? Wasn’t this too much of a coincidence? Feng Jia narrowed his eyes. Did he purposely co all the way from Haicheng City?
What was he trying to do? Follow Gu Chu?
He felt that the air he breathed in was bone-piercing cold. He returned the phone to Officer Li, pulled the suitcase, and strode away.
He took a taxi back to the hospital.
On the way, he texted Susan, “Check on a guy nad Pan Zhen. He works for a delivery company.”
