Chapter 148: The Conversation was Interrupted
The secretary clenched her fists tightly. Her director was so good at this.

“I just got a more detailed report. Her son is a fugitive suspected of a criminal case.”

Lin Yu succinctly summarized, “Twenty years ago, soone saw her son bringing a girl ho. Later on, that girl went missing. The police suspected that the girl may have been killed, but because the body could not be found, her son was not charged. As ti passed, it beca an unsolved case.”
Why would a sixty-sothing-year-old woman encourage a group of people to oppose a construction project that had already been approved by the authorities?
Or were they overthinking it? Was Li Xiu just trying to double the compensation?
Or was it that once the building was constructed, sothing bad would be dug out?

He carefully listened to the sound on the other side of the phone. There was a crackling sound that sounded like tables or chairs falling to the ground. The sound was mixed with the screams of a woman, and it was rather shocking to hear.
His tone beca even more anxious. “Gu Chu, Gu Chu? !”

The phone was hung up.
Lin Yu’s hand suddenly tightened.
He imdiately called the person-in-charge of the site. “Old Wang, a friend of mine seems to have t with an accident near the site. I’ll send her photo to you. Bring everyone to look for her. Focus on the restaurants nearby. If you can’t find her, imdiately call the police.”
“Okay.”
Lin Yu sent Gu Chu’s photo to Old Wang while he booked a flight ticket to the capital.
However, he was too far away. At this mont, Gu Chu and her secretary were already in trouble!
The two of them had their hands and feet tied with ropes and their mouths were taped. Two n and a woman threw them into the corner of the kitchen.
The woman looked the oldest, which made Gu Chu think of one person, Li Xiu.
The other two n, one looked like he was in his forties, and the other looked younger, about the sa age as them.
