After the ga was nearly over, Ming Lan glared at An Tian. "You still haven't given a chance to ask a question," she complained.
He offered her a teasing smile. "Alright, it's your turn now."
He had been acting as if he were playing with her all along, deliberately preventing her from directing her question to Wen Zac.
"You did it intentionally, didn't you, brother Tian?" she asked, clearly displeased.
"Are you going to ask him, or should I?" An Tian countered, glancing at Wen Zac.
"No, I will do it," she said, looking at her husband. "When did you exactly confess to ?"
"You truly don't rember?" Wen Zac asked. She shook her head.
Wen Zac looked at Ming Rusheng. "Do you rember at least?"
Ming Rusheng nodded. "I do."
"The construction site fell on your head, but it seems like your sister was impacted," Lu Lian teased, only to earn a glare from Ming Lan.
"Alright, brother Zac, tell us already. Your wife has been dying to know if you loved soone else before marrying her," Lu Lian urged.
"Soone else?" Wen Zac raised a brow at his wife. "It had always been you. Do you think I would have asked you to marry all of a sudden without having any thought about you? In your eyes, does marrying soone random seem that easy for ?"
"I...I thought..." Ming Lan was at a loss for words.
"Stop intimidating my sister and tell her," Ming Rusheng warned. "What if she forgot? Do you dare bla her?"
Wen Zac turned his attention to his wife. "It was at that party when Ming Rusheng was officially announced as President of the company."
Ming Lan tried to rember. "Years have passed, is that why I don't rember?" She looked back at him. "When and how did you do it?"
"At the end of the party when most of the guests were gone, you were alone standing on that balcony. You seed bored."
"The balcony?" Ming Lan tried to recall and realized she had been standing there for a long ti.
Wen Zac continued, "When I arrived there, you looked at and we smiled, but you turned away again and continued to look outside. Since we never talked much, I thought it was normal that you wouldn't talk much at that mont either."
"I do rember it," she said, a little puzzled.
"I still rembered that beautiful girl standing quietly, lost in her world, away from the crowd, dark long hair left open dancing gently in the breeze." He stopped and tucked her hair behind her ear. "At that ti, your hair was long till your waist, and it looked so beautiful on you."
"I had to cut it short because it was not convenient. I didn't have much ti to care for it while I was busy with my social work."
"I know, but these short hair looks good as well, so do not worry."
"I can grow them back like before," she said, fidgeting with her elbow-length hair strands.
"Ahem, we are waiting to hear further," Lu Lian interrupted them. "Enough of PDA. We are already nauseous with PDA from Lijun and Yuyan."
Everyone looked at Lu Lijun and Yuyan, who didn't mind their gazes and continued to sit closer, with Lu Lijun having her wrapped in his arms.
Wen Zac resud, "I thought that was the right ti to confess, and I did. I don't know how I blabbered out random things before jumping to telling you that I liked you and wished to date you. I have never been so nervous in my life. I even said that I saw us getting married if you didn't mind."
Wen Zac blinked a few tis. "You did that at the ti when I was standing on the balcony?"
Wen Zac nodded. "Ask your brother. When I was saying all that for more than five minutes continuously, he was there and heard it all. Before leaving, you saw him as well, didn't you?"
Ming Lan helplessly buried her face in her palm, as if she couldn't believe it. "I can't believe this."
"What happened?" Wen Zac asked, worried, while the others waited to hear.
She continued to bury her face in her palms, sounding annoyed. "I can't believe it. For the first ti, soone confessed to , and I missed it. I didn't even know what the guy standing behind was saying."
"What do you an?" Wen Zac asked. "You really didn't hear ?"
She raised her head and looked at him. "How could I? You were right. I was bored and annoyed at the crowded party, so I went to the gallery. I decided to listen to music to make myself feel better, so I was wearing earphones at full volu, and they were noise-canceling ones at that."
"What?" Wen Zac exclaid, as did the others.
"Maybe you didn't see them because of their tiny size and my hair covering them," she explained. "When I saw you co there, I smiled as usual to greet you and then turned back to what I was doing. I didn't know you were still there and talking to . After so ti, I turned and saw you were still there. I was surprised, but then I saw brother Rusheng standing behind, so I thought you two were there to talk to each other, and I left."
This ti, it was Wen Zac who felt helpless. He ran his hand through his hair and cursed. "What the... and all these years I was sad, thinking that the one I confessed to didn't even bother to reply to with a 'Yes' or 'No'. When the truth is you didn't even hear it. Fucking unbelievable."
The mories of how heartbroken he felt all these years, were just his one sided pain while the one who he considered as heartless woman, was not even aware of it. What exactly was going on?"
There was sudden silence as no one could believe this and found it so ridiculously wasteful. The confession didn't even reach the girl.
