For the next fifteen days, things were calm. Lu Lijun didn’t go to Jiang Yuyan and maintained a distance from her. However, he was busy all the ti as the day of the main project was closer.
Jiang Yuyan busied herself too, but the thought of why Lu Lijun said to her that she hated him and she wouldn’t think about it as if he didn’t exist kept troubling her. She was worried about what must have happened with him. He didn’t co to her apart from when they faced each other in so eting or anything related to so work. She was relieved to think he must be on the right track but troubled to think what triggered him suddenly.
The night before the project, after the dinner, Lu Jinhai asked Lu Lijun to sit with the family.
"Tomorrow is an important day. Don’t be stressed out about the result. Just keep in mind you did your best," Lu Jinhai said.
Lu Lijun nodded.
"He is my grandson. I know he will never lack in the effort, whatever it is," elder Lu exclaid proudly.
"I know he is gonna get it," Lu Lian said, and Lu Bao agreed. "Our brother is smart."
Lu Lijun was calm and let the family have their ti with him and feel good.
Lu Feng, who sat beside Lu Lijun, looked at him. "Just do what you can do best."
Lu Lijun nodded. Though he was calm, in the end, so many things depended on the result as he was the one to put everything in trouble by betting with Mr. Wen. No one said anything to him, and it made him feel even responsible.
"Lu Feng, the day after tomorrow, you know what day it is," said Ning Jiahui.
Lu Feng nodded and assured to what Ning Jiahui wanted to say to him. "I’ll be here this week."
"Jiang Peizhi and Mo Ruolan are here too. We need to invite them to attend the morial service," Grandma instructed.
"I already did, mother," Ning Jiahui replied. "They will co directly to the temple."
"Like every year, we have to do morial service for both," Grandma reminded again.
"Yes, mother," Ning Jiahui assured, and Lu Lijun looked at them. "Both?"
"Hmm!" Ning Jiahui said, "Your brother and the baby."
"Baby?" Lu Lijun asked surprisingly.
"Hmm, baby. Yuyan and Lu Qiang’s baby."
It shocked Lu Lijun that he didn’t know it.
"She was pregnant at that ti," Lu Feng replied, knowing what his brother wanted to know.
"You were a kid at that ti and were not in good condition, so you must not know it," Lu Lian added.
Lu Bao, who was there, touched her belly. "I can understand her pain. I can never imagine...."
Lu Lian touched her sister’s hand. "Don’t say anything that will scare you. You will be fine."
Lu Lijun didn’t know what to say and thought, ’How could he never know about it?’
"It’s sad, but what had happened, we can’t turn it back," elder Lu comnted.
"It’s getting late. Lu Lijun, you should sleep early," Lu Jinhai instructed.
Lu Lijun nodded as he was in his own thoughts.
Lu Feng stood up and said to Lu Lijun, "Let’s go."
Lu Lijun and Lu Feng left to go upstairs. On the way, Lu Feng patted his shoulder. "Don’t think much about it. She is fine now."
Lu Lijun could only nod to it and went to his room.
Lying on the bed, Lu Lijun finally realized a few facts. When he and Jiang Yuyan visited Lu Qiang’s grave, there was another small flower bouquet, and a soft toy ant for babies. At that ti, he didn’t think about it, but now he knew what it was.
Lu Lijun realized, after the accident, Jiang Yuyan was hurt physically and ntally but she still acted strong and took care of him. She was there for him all the ti, hiding her pain and smiled for him.
It made him feel even more responsible towards her. ’I’ll take care of her always and give her all the happiness she deserves then whatever it takes.’ He thought to himself.

The next day, Lu Lijun and Noah had to go to the venue straight from ho, so Lu Lijun didn’t get the chance to see Jiang Yuyan. Moreover, she stayed with her parents, so he didn’t get to see her in the Lu Mansion too.
"Big day for my boss today," Noah comnted as they arrived at the venue.
"Hmm, truly a big one," Lu Lijun agreed.
"By the way, I trust my boss’s capability, and I bet my boss will be the one to win it," said Noah.
"I am on the sa side as you, Noah," said Jake, who just arrived there and heard the two.
"Well, I have one best assistant and one best business partner now," said Lu Lijun as he looked at Noah and Jake.
Jake’s company was the partner for Lu Corporation in the project they had co to represent and needed to grab it.
In the huge hall, so many tables were arranged in rows with chairs around them and reserved for each company’s representative where particular company’s naplates were kept on it.
The attendants guided everyone towards the respective tables. Lu Lijun and his friends sat around the table that was booked for Lu Corporations.
The professionally well arranged and decorated hall had the stage at one side of the hall with a huge screen behind it which had a welco ssage written for the guests.
"Nervous?" Noah asked Lu Lijun.
"My ass!" ca the reply from a cold guy.
Hearing the reply, Noah concluded, "You passed the test, my friend. You are absolutely fine."
"You and your unique ways of testing," Jake comnted.
"Do you want to test you too?" Noah asked.
"My a.s.s is not nervous. Yours might be the one," Jake countered with a sly smile.
Noah ignored him, and just then, the person in charge ca on the stage to make an announcent as finally, all the guests had arrived at the venue.
