Box after box of dicine was loaded onto the truck.

The soldiers waiting outside were all excited, their movents swift and efficient.

The hospital's survivors also stepped forward to help, though their expressions were sowhat uneasy; after all, the people in camouflage uniforms in front of them were not regular soldiers.

No one knew whether they would betray them after taking the supplies, turning their backs and denying any connection?

The leading doctor and nurses were also sowhat concerned.

But they could only watch from the sidelines.

After all, they had completely lost the ability to resist and had beco prisoners of these self-proclaid company personnel; their fate was now left to chance.

Elsewhere, Zhang Ye was still in a state of shock.

Just a few steps away from him, a zombie with a head resembling a cauliflower whined silently with its mouth open.

It was more horrifying than strange.

Because it was indeed a cauliflower.

Its entire face was covered with leprous-like protrusions.

Despite its huge head, its limbs were very slender.

It looked very uncoordinated.

"Is it still alive?"

Zhang Ye suddenly noticed another na rising before him.

Kang Tianfeng.

This confird that it was indeed a zombie.

And it hadn't died, still retaining a state of being alive.

Zhao Sen next to him nodded, then gestured to Zhang Ye's gaze towards the creepy head and said, "Is there sothing outside of that thing?"

Zhang Ye imdiately shook his head, "Maybe there is, given that nothing is surprising anymore."

"But I haven't seen one yet."

Then he suddenly noticed so yellowed fabric remnants on the zombie's body.

No surprises there, it must also have been a white coat.

Now the color had completely changed.

And it was severely damaged.

Before he could ask what the pieces of fabric were about, Zhao Sen had already started explaining, "He was also a hospital colleague, as for that thing on the head—"

"It was originally a potted flower."

It was really a flower?

Zhang Ye couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

But now, this potted plant had clearly fused with his unfortunate colleague, or rather, the plant had long been parasitic on its head.

Even the petals had fallen off, leaving only the fleshy leaves.

The entire thing was a sinister dark red.

As he was grappling with his astonishnt, sothing suddenly flashed through his mind, and a shock of alarm rose in his eyes!

No, how could a flower be parasitic on a living human's head?

Could it be—

"It devoured my colleague."

As if to confirm Zhang Ye's guess, Zhao Sen's voice rose along with it.

"Alive and kicking."

His eyes were slightly dim.

He looked sowhat sad.

Zhang Ye, however, was completely imrsed in the shock brought about by those words, echoing endlessly in his head:

"The flower...ate a person?"

"How is that possible!"

Soon Zhao Sen began to explain in detail the events of that day.

It could be summarized in a single sentence.

After initially clearing the building, Zhao Sen and his colleagues began to check every room thoroughly, making sure to leave no safety hazards.

This unfortunate doctor initially just wanted to take a closer look at the strange plant on the windowsill.

But as soon as he approached it, he inexplicably felt weak.

And he leaned on the windowsill.

From there, the tragedy occurred.

By the ti Zhao Sen realized sothing was wrong and ca rushing over, the doctor's head was already tightly entangled by the roots stretching out from the pot.

Countless roots, carrying both soil and the stench of blood, were burrowing into his eye sockets and nostrils.

At the sa ti, his body underwent mutations.

Startled, Zhao Sen quickly seized the opportunity while the two hadn't fully fused to tie him down to the tal bed, and it was then that they discovered that strange sll.

Since then, the hospital had a new rule: no one was allowed near the windowsill.

Fortunately, this strange plant species was, for now, found only in this one case. The rest outside still looked normal.

Normal?

Zhang Ye suddenly showed a bitter expression.

It was only after Zhao Sen said this that he confird his own speculation had been correct all along: it wasn't just the animals that were changing.

It was also those plants that were still lush despite it being deep into autumn.

He had thought it was just his illusion before.

Just as Zhang Ye voiced this thought, Zhao Sen blurted out:

"Fuck."

"Really."

"I was wondering why the willow tree outside the office seed to have grown quite a bit taller."The sudden curse made Zhang Ye look at him with a hint of surprise in his eyes; it was indeed the young woman's first ti on the sedan chair.

Who would have thought that a person who appeared so calm and cultured could also swear?

The other party just looked at him with a big-surprise-small-wonder expression and asked:

"What?"

"You've never heard a doctor swear?"

Zhang Ye instinctively shook his head, about to speak, when suddenly he saw a long black strip-shaped object crawling slowly on the ground in his line of sight.

On closer inspection, he realized that the damned thing was actually stretching over from the bed.

"Doctor Zhao!"

"Quick, get over here!"

Zhao Sen's expression faltered, still clueless about what was happening when Zhang Ye had already grabbed him and pulled him out the door.

Then they heard sothing behind them shoot forward as if chasing after them.

Bang!

The mont the door closed, that black tendril-like object slamd right into it!

Before the two could catch their breath, several similar tendrils stretched out from the gap between the door and the floor, their slimy surfaces emitting an extrely seductive scent.

The tendrils snaked through the door gap and imdiately wrapped around both of their ankles, followed by an imnse force from above.

The two n quickly toppled to the ground together.

"Shit!"

"This thing's alive!"

Panic finally crept onto Zhao Sen's stern face, though his eyes still maintained calmness, and his mind instantly thought of the body on the bed.

Zhang Ye, too, was sowhat flustered. With a thought, the bodyguard beside him rushed forward to cut the tendrils.

But the toughness of the thing far exceeded his expectations.

The specially made crooked knife was no match for it.

Fuck, what the hell is this thing!

After cursing out loud, looking at the black tendrils stretching through the door gap, an idea suddenly flashed through Zhang Ye's mind, and he imdiately yelled to Zhao Sen:

"The problem is still with that zombie!"

"We must kill it!"

While Zhao Sen struggled, he still quickly replied, "Just tell how to help you!"

"It's simple!"

"Just hold tight to the door fra when I open the door!"

No sooner had Zhang Ye spoken than he had already opened the door to the room in front of him, and the black tendrils that surged towards them had already filled the entire room!

And that zombie on the bed was now completely enveloped!

It resembled a massive rice dumpling!

The head on the neck had completely disappeared.

The deep red petals, as if dyed in blood, slowly blood amidst a fragrance that filled the room, causing both n's brains to reel with a strong sense of vertigo.
