Perhaps due to preconceived notions, Leyu felt everything around him was odd on the way back.

Behind that wall, it seed like a fully ard squad was hiding.

The young man at the stall appeared to have a gun hidden in his chest.

From underneath the manhole cover he stepped on, it seed as if there were the footsteps of dozens of people.

In actuality, he hadn’t seen anything, but just imagining it made Leyu’s palms sweat.

Leyu didn’t know the specific plan White Night had to seize the city. After all, Yinyinyin was quite sensible—not revealing the secret to a mole like him at the enemy’s core. However, he knew that to conquer Starke County, several key points were unavoidable.

The City Guard Departnt spread throughout the city.

The County Guard Army protecting strategic locations.

And the noble divisions in the Mirror Lake District.

Ironically, forces like the Statistical Departnt and the Imprisonnt Departnt could be directly ignored because they weren’t loyal to Ding Yi himself, but to the Governor—no matter who sat in that position, they could win the allegiance of most people in these departnts. Even if they didn’t pledge loyalty, they wouldn’t resist.

However, the City Guard Departnt, the County Guard Army, and noble divisions were different. The first two were Ding Yi’s private armies, and all the leadership were Ding Yi’s confidants. If Ding Yi died, they would never submit and must be suppressed from the start.

White Night’s targets to overthrow also included the noble rchants in Mirror Lake District. Ordering them to surrender their wealth and production materials after taking over Starke County was neither aesthetically pleasing nor would it avoid turmoil.

Moreover, the nobility was already tied to Ding Yi in a war chariot. Once upheaval occurred, they would most likely deploy their divisions for support. So, it would be better to target them for elimination from the beginning—Yinyinyin might be designing this plan, and Leyu had a feeling that in Mirror Lake District, a lot of people would cleanly disappear tonight.

Additionally, weapon factories and grain warehouses must be controlled.

Considering these strategic targets, the battlefield tonight would cover almost every area of Starke County.

This calm before the storm was both thrilling and nerve-wracking for soone like Leyu, who lived in peaceti.

At this mont, a team of Statistical Departnt mbers approached from the opposite direction. Leyu’s gaze swept over and suddenly caught sight of an acquaintance.

"Director Lan?"

The person turned his head, smiled, and said, "Is it Captain Qian? I’m Mo Ming, captain of the newly ford Team Seven."

Leyu fixed his eyes and found that although this person also wore silver-rimd glasses and had a similar hairstyle, he was indeed not Lan Yan.

Not just the captain, so mbers, although not wearing glasses, all had the sa hairstyle as Lan Yan and carried long swords at their waists. At first glance, it seed as if five Lan Yans were off to level up in an internet cafe.

Damn, have die-hard fans gotten this extre nowadays!?

Leyu tapped his head, saying, "Look at ... this brain, I can even mistake people in broad daylight."

Mo Ming laughed, "It’s okay, we still have a task, so we’ll take our leave first."

Watching their backs as they left, Leyu squinted slightly. The newly established three squads of the Statistical Departnt, numbered six, seven, and eight in order, were specially ard combat squads, according to Chen Fu.

Although every team in the Statistical Departnt had combat capabilities, they usually had to investigate and capture people, leaving little ti for training. Teams Six, Seven, and Eight rarely went on assignnts, devoting all their energy to training weapon skills and surveying the Starke terrain. It was said these three squads’ tactical requirent was ’Urban Warfare Ghost Soldier’.

’Training such a loyal unit, Lan Yan is not that honest after all... The mbers even share the sa hairstyle as you, and you say you aren’t planning a revolt?’

Wherever Leyu went, when others saw that he was a Statistical Departnt operative, the first emotion that surfaced wasn’t disgust, but envy.

The story of Lan Yan standing against the Governor to protect his subordinates had spread through every street. Although the Statistical Departnt had a notorious reputation, people still recognized a good superior like this, especially the Patrol Execution Guards of the Imprisonnt Departnt. Each ti Leyu made eye contact with them, he saw nothing but pure jealousy in their eyes.

Winning people’s hearts and being powerful naturally allowed Lan Yan to find many loyal subordinates and openly placed them in the Statistical Departnt.

However, Leyu was not worried that these three squads would have any impact on the situation. After all, they were too few in number and not very strong. In the grand sche of things, a huge tide could not be stopped by a group of new recruits.

When Leyu returned to the slaughterhouse base, it was nearly dusk. Chen Fu saw him return and called out, "Brother Qian, I saved a portion of shredded chicken rice for you! It’s still hot!"

Leyu didn’t even need to apply for leave when he left in the afternoon, just holler at Chen Fu directly. Gotta admit, having a little brother in life makes everything more flavorful. Leyu sat down, eating and drinking tea while asking, "How’s it inside?"

Chen Fu shrugged, "What’s to say? Still the sa."

The Saint’s Relic wasn’t placed on the first floor of the slaughterhouse where everyone can see it, probably on the second floor only the boss could access—even Leyu couldn’t go up, with County Guards guarding the staircase.

Thus, the progress of the Saint’s Relic unsealing could only be speculated based on past records. While it was possible it might unseal tonight, it also might not, but in any case, it was better than the Ding Family getting hold of the Saint’s Relic.

Leyu didn’t quite understand the Divine Weapon’s recognition function either, but it was said that Divine Weapons could only be used by their holders. Once the holder died, the weapon would enter a sealed state, requiring a new unsealing ceremony for it to acknowledge a new master.

In other words, the ’Zhao Yun snatching the Qinggang Sword to counter Xiahou En’ scenario couldn’t happen.

Having eaten his fill, Leyu put down his chopsticks and began practicing his combat technique in the nearby open space, while others tactfully made room. Chen Fu, ever the sycophant, occasionally offered encouraging glances that seed to say, ’Brother Qian, you’re so diligent.’

Why did Leyu, who had resigned himself to diocrity, suddenly start training? It all began the night he completed the ’survive 15 days’ challenge.

His initial plan was to use 3 available points to upgrade the Biting Battle Technique to interdiate, then use an eternal skill upgrade point to boost it to advanced, instantly becoming a ’Peak of Perfection’ Martial Artist.

However, dreams were beautiful, and reality was that he lacked the points.

Leyu never expected that 3 available points weren’t enough to even upgrade the Biting Battle Technique!

Using an eternal skill upgrade point to push it to interdiate felt wasteful, like gaining a whole level when he was just 30% short on experience to naturally level up.

After much thought, Leyu wondered if the points consud to level up related to his proficiency. Would improving his skill reduce the points needed?

Raising it to interdiate could require 5 points, maybe 4, but it was within a range Leyu could et with so effort.

Since there was no rush to show off, and his Spiritual Power had surged post-Crossing the Tribulation, giving him a false sense of ’I might make it,’ he began training in the Biting Battle Technique, hoping his efforts would reduce the interdiate upgrade cost to 3 points.

As night fell, the streetlights gradually turned on. The slaughterhouse’s lighting was comparable to the main road, and from the gate, one could see the distant County Guard Army base, ensuring prompt response if anything occurred.

Leyu glanced at the ti, ntioned a ’bathroom break,’ and walked toward the back of the slaughterhouse.

Though the slaughterhouse was dark, two covert operatives were stationed nearby. Leyu approached them, clutching his belly with a sorry expression, saying, "I suddenly feel my stomach acting up again... You should head back and take a rest first."

"Alright, Captain." The operative wasn’t surprised, instead, offering concern, "Captain, you’ve been having this kind of diarrhea for days, might be a stomach issue. Do you need to see the dical Bureau?"

Leyu had been showing up right at this ti daily to ’have diarrhea,’ so none of the operatives were fazed anymore.

"The dical Officer said it might be a ntal problem," Leyu replied, making a face, "I’m the one burdening everyone..."

"Don’t say that, everyone is thankful to have Captain Qian and Director Lan," the operative consoled before leaving the post.

Leyu waited in place for a minute, heard a cooing cat call from the underbrush, and quietly replied, "Yinyinyin, you’re so cheeky."

"The correct countersign is: Is there a cute female cat here?"

Yinyinyin and Wang Zongdao erged from the darkness, "Sticking to the plan is common sense."

Leyu pointed to the slaughterhouse’s wall and rooftop, "The second-floor windows are glass. If you want to sneak in, you’ll have to go from the roof. No problem?"

"We’ve been preparing for this for a long ti."

Honest Wang Zongdao pulled out a grappling hook with rope, made a swift movent, and silently scaled the wall.

But Yinyinyin didn’t imdiately follow. Facing Leyu, he said, "I thought you would run away with your sister."

"Leaving in the middle of a team fight would have people cursing my family tree," Leyu chuckled, "Besides, I’ve carried the bla for so long, I have to see how you plan to clear my na afterward."

"Don’t worry, everything will end tonight."

Having said this, Yinyinyin also climbed into the slaughterhouse. Leyu was about to leave when he noticed a figure standing in the corner, making him tighten his muscles in fright.

Upon seeing the figure’s outline clearly, Leyu instinctively blurted out:

"Chen Fu?"
