The elevator slid open after a 'ding'.
Song Xing Xing looked at the number on the screen. Noticing that she had arrived at her floor, she quickly stepped out of the elevator. After she had walked a little farther, Song Xing Xing paused to glance at the person behind her. Seeing the bespectacled man smiling back at her with a nonchalant attitude, Song Xing Xing quickly picked up her pace and walked towards her unit.
Sohow, she had a feeling as if sothing was not right.
She could not understand what had happened either.
A while ago, Lu Xun had told her that he had sothing to ask her about Bai Zhi. When he ntioned that it might be related to her safety, Song Xing Xing quickly agreed to discuss this matter at her apartnt.
This is not right…
Song Xing Xing suddenly had this feeling as if she was being tricked.
"Aren't you going to open the door?"
His voice startled her. Song Xing Xing quickly scrambled to find her keys and stopped herself before she could let him enter her house. She watched him with a hesitant gaze and spoke, "Maybe we should have this talk sowhere else?"
"Mmm…" Lu Xun glanced at his watch. "That work too. Let's just have dinner together while we talk."
Song Xing Xing continued to feel as if sothing was not right.
It couldn't be that this was a trick to have dinner together, right? He did say that he wanted to pursue her.
Her heart skipped a beat as the thought ca to her mind.
Song Xing Xing quickly changed her mind again. "No. Forget it. Let's just discuss this inside. You did say that this would take a few minutes."
Lu Xun pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose with a finger as he hid the disappointed look in his eyes. It seed as if once the discussion ended, this girl would quickly drive him away to leave. Lu Xun took a deep breath and reminded himself that he has to take things slow.
At least, this girl is willing to talk to him. This small progress is good enough.
This was only the small punishnt he had to experience because he had wronged her previously.
Lu Xun stepped into the apartnt and changed his shoes into a pair of guest slippers. As soon as he stepped into the living area, sothing jumped out towards his feet. Lu Xun quickly composed himself and looked down.
A fat, gray cat was rubbing his head on his legs.
"ow!" The cat raised his head and looked at him with an expectant gaze.
Song Xing Xing narrowed her eyes when she saw that the cat was acting coquettishly towards a certain person. "Mr. Fluffball, don't make trouble."
It was at this ti that Lu Xun recalled that Song Xing Xing had a cat. "Mr. Fluffball?" The last ti he ca to her apartnt, Song Xing Xing had not told him the cat's na.
Lu Xun looked at the cat that kept on rubbing on his legs. He always thought that this cat is very adorable.
When Mr. Fluffball heard Lu Xun called his na, he raised his head and stared at the man in excitent.
One look at the cat, one would have this feeling as if he was asking to be petted.
Song Xing Xing looked at her cat and clicked her tongue in disapproval. Why does it feel as if this cat was so happy that soone had called his na?
Mr. Fluffball would not have this kind of expression when she called his na. This cat would often have an arrogant look on his face, but the mont he saw Lu Xun, his attitude would change.
Song Xing Xing looked at her cat and decided to to make a little experint. "Mr. Fluffball, co here. Let give you sothing to eat."
The cat rely glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. Then, he started to look at Lu Xun again. Then, he continued to rub his head against Lu Xun's legs, marking him with his scent.
Her breath stuck in her throat. Song Xing Xing watched as Lu Xun picked up her cat and the two started to act as if they had known each other for a long ti.
This sight made her heart boiled with anger.
She really did not know whose cat is Mr. Fluffball.
Her eyes narrowed. Song Xing Xing decided that from tomorrow onwards, this fat, gray cat will go on a diet. No matter how much he would beg for that wet food, she should not give in to him.
Song Xing Xing placed the box of pastries on the table. Then, she sat across Lu Xun and Mr. Fluffball.
Suddenly, she had this feeling as if she was the outsider.
"President Lu, didn't you say that you have a few questions to ask ?"
Lu Xun looked at the girl in front of him and saw the way she had her arms crossed on her chest. Her posture was domineering. If he did not know about her background or family, Lu Xun would definitely find it strange for soone like Song Xing Xing to have this kind of aura around her.
Looking at her expression, Lu Xun had a feeling that this girl was angry at him. However, he did not know what he had done wrong. Lu Xun had this thought that if he did not get straight to the point, there was a chance that this girl was going to kick him out.
His hand continued to caress the cat in his arms. Lu Xun recalled his conversation with the guards earlier and all of a sudden, his expression turned serious. "That's right. This is about Miss Bai Zhi."
Song Xing Xing heard this na and her expression turned serious.
"I heard from your cousin that Miss Bai is your friend."
"Un." Song Xing Xing tilted her head to one side. "But, I wouldn't call her a friend."
Lu Xun nodded. "It's good that you're not a friend with soone like that," he mumbled under his breath.
"President Lu, I have nothing to do with her or what she tried to do to you on that night," Song Xing Xing quickly tried to explain. "Let clarify this to you. Bai Zhi and I used to be roommates. But I have already cut ties with her a few months ago. On that night, I saw her following you around. Then, I caught her passing sothing to the server. I had an instinct that she was up to nothing good and that was when I called my cousin."
Lu Xun had a feeling that this girl had misunderstood that he was accusing her of sothing she did not do. "I know. I trust you." Lu Xun let out an awkward cough. "That is not what I ca to talk to you about."
Song Xing Xing looked at him in puzzled. If he did not co to talk about this, then, what did he ca to talk about?
