From F Country, the couple took a flight straight to R City where Huo Yun Chen's parents were staying.
On the plane, Huo Yun Chen was telling Xia Yu about his family. His mother was a housewife and his father was a professor at R City University. Xia Yu thought that it was surprising that his parents would let him enter the entertainnt industry.
Xia Yu had thought that with his father in education, Huo Yun Chen would follow in his footsteps.
However, Huo Yun Chen said that his parents were people who would let him do whatever he wanted. He was free to chase after his dream.
As soon as they arrived in the arrival hall, the couple caught sight of a young man in suit and tie, holding a placard with 'Mr. Huo and Miss Xia' written on it.
Huo Yun Chen quickly recognized the man and pulled his girlfriend over. "Ah Sheng, why are you here?"
The young man lowered the placard and smiled. "Your parents heard that your flight arrived around this ti and asked to co over to pick you up." His gaze shifted to Xia Yu and he gave her a polite smile.
"That's right, let introduce you, Ah Wei, this is my girlfriend, Xia Yu. Xia Yu, This is Zhao Sheng, my father's student."
The two of them exchanged brief greetings.
As there were a lot of people in the airport, the group did not stay around for a long ti and waited to be recognized. Following Zhao Sheng, they hopped into his car and headed ho.
Xia Yu looked out the window and took a deep breath. Knowing that she will soon be eting Huo Yun Chen's parents made her grow anxious. Subconsciously, her hand clenched into a fist.
As she was still worrying, Huo Yun Chen stretched his hand and hold hers tightly.
Xia Yu turned to look at him and saw his smile. Although she was still anxious about eting Huo Yun Chen's parents, Xia Yu began to feel more at ease with his assurance.
After forty-five minutes, the vehicle finally stopped in front of a house. Xia Yu looked up and suddenly felt very nervous again.
However, now that she had arrived, Xia Yu had no other choice other than to follow Huo Yun Chen inside the house.
As soon as they entered the place, a woman in her fifties appeared.
Xia Yu looked at the woman and thought that she really resembled Huo Yun Chen a lot. The gentleness on their face was really similar.
"Mom." Huo Yun Chen called.
"Yun Chen, you're back." The woman walked over into the living room. The mont she saw Xia Yu, her lips curled up into an amiable smile. "You must be Xia Yu."
Huo Yun Chen wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "Mmm... Mom, this is my girlfriend, Xia Yu. Xia Yu, this is my mom, Miss Qing."
"Hello, auntie," Xia Yu greeted her politely. The smile on her face was a little awkward.
Growing up, she was disliked by her mother. Each ti that she t her friends' mother, Xia Yu would always be cautious around them. Now that she was eting Huo Yun Chen's mother, her heart was pounding loudly.
The most thing that she was afraid of was that, Huo Yun Chen's mother was going to dislike her.
Mother Huo narrowed her eyes at her son. Then, she looked at Xia Yu again with a smile on her face. "Xia Yu, have a seat first. Auntie is preparing so dishes. Later, we can eat together. Yun Chen, go and bring your girlfriend around the house. That's right, you're staying ho right?"
Huo Yun Chen coughed. "Mom, I already booked the hotel room."
Instantly, Mother Huo's expression changed. "What are you staying at the hotel for? Xia Yu, stay here, alright? I have already cleaned up the room when I heard that you will be coming over."
"This..." Xia Yu turned to Huo Yun Chen and saw that he was pretending as if he could not understand anything. Her lips pursed into a thin line and Xia Yu could not help but to pinch him lightly on his waist.
Huo Yun Chen gasped. He finally looked at his girlfriend and blinked. "Xia Yu, I'll listen to your arrangent."
Xia Yu had an urge to beat this man but she could not do anything because his mother was still around. Seeing that Huo Yun Chen's mother was looking at them with an expecting gaze, Xia Yu could only agree.
The smile on Mother Huo's face turned wider. "Then, it's settled. Yun Chen, go and bring Xia Yu to your room. I already cleaned it up and changed the sheet. If you need anything else, then just ask ."
Huo Yun Chen let out a helpless sigh. "Mom, I know. This is my ho too. If there's anything I will know where to find it."
"You know where to find it? Don't make laugh. You can't even find your shirt in your wardrobe." Mother Huo turned to Xia Yu. "Xia Yu, this person is the type of man who can't even find things when it was right in front of him."
"Mom, can you not embarrass in front of my girlfriend?" Huo Yun Chen mumbled. He grabbed at Xia Yu's hand and spoke. "Mom, I'll bring Xia Yu upstairs and let her get familiarized with this place."
"Go. Go." Mother Huo waved her hand. "I'll call you over when your dad gets back."
Huo Yun Chen pulled her girlfriend upstairs and let out a breath of relief. His mother started to nag him endlessly the mont she saw him. It is making him a little helpless.
"Your mother is a very nice person," Xia Yu comnted as they entered his room.
"Mmm... She's very talkative." Huo Yun Chen pinched at Xia Yu's cheek. "As long as soone is willing to listen, my mom can talk for hours. I hope you won't get tired of it."
"I won't." Xia Yu thought that this was also good. She was not good at speaking but she might be able to lend her ears and listen.
A thought ca to her mind. Xia Yu rested her arms on his shoulders and smiled. "Maybe your mother will tell a few embarrassing stories about you."
Huo Yun Chen chuckled. "Why do you want to listen to embarrassing stories about ?" He leaned closer until her back was leaning on the wall. "No. This is not right. Miss Xia Yu, you just wanted to bully , right?"
Xia Yu looked at him innocently and blinked. "No. Of course, not."
"Really?" Huo Yun Chen narrowed his eyes. "You better confess." He rested his hand on her waist and started to tickle her. Soon, the bedroom was filled with the sound of her laughter.
Mother Huo was still in the kitchen to prepare a few dishes.. The corner of her lips turned up upon hearing the laughter.
