Lin You returned to the room just before dinner. She brought along so takeaways and ate with them. Her presence made Xia Yu feel more at ease.
After dinner, the lawyer that Song Xing Xing had hired ca to the suite to look for Xia Yu.
Earlier, Xia Yu had already heard from Huo Yun Chen how her mother had continued to make a fuss after she had left the court.
Xia Yu watched the video and heard how her mother had slandered her as an unfilial child. According to Mother Xia, Xia Yu had changed after she t this guy.
Instead of taking care of her old mother, Xia Yu had raised a guy and gave all her money to him.
Xia Yu still rember that day when her mother had scolded her after she had listened from the gossipy neighbor that she was dating soone. On that day, there were a few of the neighbors who had seen Huo Yun Chen with her.
Hearing Mother Xia's words, Xia Yu imdiately knew that the person she had raised was Huo Yun Chen.
Suddenly, she wondered how would her mother react if she knew that the person she was raising had a lot more money than her. This guy is actually a popular celebrity in the country.
Before Xia Yu headed to A City, Song Xing Xing had co to et her and discussed what she wanted to do with her mother. Song Xing Xing had already anticipated that Mother Xia would continue to make things difficult for Xia Yu.
If she wanted to continue and live, she had to make a decision.
The talk with the lawyer lasted for almost an hour.
If it was possible, Xia Yu wanted to settle everything without being in contact with Mother Xia.
Before her father passed away, Xia Yu had promised her father that she would be looking after her mother and younger brother. However, after what had happened during the short period where she had stayed with the mother and son, Xia Yu knew well that it was sothing that she could not do.
During this talk with the lawyer, Xia Yu had agreed to send her mother so money and arranged for soone to look after her once every few days. If her mother was sick and needed money for her hospitalization, Xia Yu would provide that money.
Other than these things, there was nothing else that she could do.
The amount of the monthly money she provided would be just enough for her mother to spend.
With this, even if her mother wanted to accuse her of unfilial, she could not do anything.
The lawyer left shortly after with his docunts.
Xia Yu went back to her previous room and Lin You helped her as he used the bathroom. Due to Huo Yun Chen's request, Lin You would be staying in the room to accompany Xia Yu. Otherwise, she would stay in another room.
When she ca out of a quick bath, Xia Yu found that Lin You was staring at her with a strange smile on her face.
"Why are you looking at like that?"
Lin You chuckled but did not answer her. She took the towel from Xia Yu and helped her to dry her hair.
Xia Yu continued to watch as Lin You through the mirror. When her hair had dried, Lin You looked up and t her gaze in the mirror.
"Xia Yu, what do you think of Brother Huo?"
The question surprised her and Xia Yu was not able to react quickly. It took her a while to compose herself and speak, "I think he's a very good person."
Otherwise, she would not fall for him and stay as his fan for years.
"Then, do you like him?"
Xia Yu stared back at Lin You with a dazed expression. As seconds passed by, she could feel the heat creeping onto her face. She did not have to look into the mirror to know that her face had turned red.
Lin You giggled when she saw Xia Yu's reaction. "Xia Yu, you're so cute." The smile stayed on her face. "Sorry, I didn't an to be a busybody. But you could say that I'm a very curious person. You see, I have been Brother Huo's assistant for years. This was the first ti that I saw him working so hard to chase soone. Xia Yu, Brother Huo really cared about you."
Xia Yu lowered her gaze. She recalled how that man has been very attentive to her after he found her in the hospital after she was pushed down from the second floor.
It would be a lie to say that her heart was not moved.
In the beginning, Xia Yu had thought that Huo Yun Chen had done his best to help her just because she was Shadow, his online ga's friend. She had thought that he had only pitied her.
But his action and his every word showed how much he cared.
At least, she could see that he did not do everything because he pitied her. He wouldn't go that far and showed up at the court, trying to protect her if it was only because of pity.
When she had composed herself, Xia Yu looked up at Lin You again and smiled. "Are you here to help speak up for him?"
"After all, I am his assistant. Of course, I have to speak up for Brother Huo." Seeing that Xia Yu had kept her silence, Lin You finally heaved a sigh. "Alright. I won't tease you anymore. Xia Yu, you should go and get rest first." She turned around to pull the blanket on the bed and fluffed the pillow.
Xia Yu nodded. A thought ca to her mind and she looked up again. "How long will you and Huo Yun Chen stay in A City?"
"Brother Huo is on a short break. We'll leave on the sa day you head back to Capital City."
Xia Yu naturally did not miss the teasing gaze on Lin You's face.. She bit on her lips as she thought of sothing for a long ti. As Lin You ca over to her side to help her on the bed, Xia Yu grabbed at her arm and spoke, "Lin You, can you help with sothing?"
