You didn’t accept my confession, why are you crying because I changed my mind? Chapter 158
Chapter 158: An Unusually Quiet Han Rou, A Crying Chu Yuwei
After an hour, they passed a rest stop. Jiang Zhou pulled the car over, letting everyone get out to stretch their legs.
The weather was quite nice today. The wind wasn’t strong, and there wasn’t any of the sleet that had been in the forecast.
It seed they really had to start listening to the weather forecast in reverse.
At that mont, Han Rou got out of the car very quietly.
She held her phone and hurried into the restroom. Throughout the entire process, whether she was opening the door or walking, she was extrely cautious, as if she didn’t want to alert anyone.
She even kept her head slightly lowered, afraid to et anyone’s gaze.
Seeing this, Jiang Zhou couldn’t help but frown.
He had a feeling that sothing was off with Han Rou today. Even though she was talking and laughing like before, the furrow between her brows never seed to disappear.
Jiang Zhou couldn’t guess why, but he was quietly worried. “Here, have so.”
Just then, Chu Yuwei bounced out of the car.
She peeled an orange segnt and gently put it into Jiang Zhou’s mouth. “How is it? Is it good?”
“It’s okay, just a little cold. It’s chilling my teeth.”
Chu Yuwei thought for a mont, then cupped another orange segnt in her hands. After warming it for a while, she gave it to him. “How about now?”
Jiang Zhou turned and looked at her. “We still have two hours until we get ho. Do you need to use the restroom?”
Chu Yuwei shook her head. “No, do you?”
“What about your period?”
“It hasn’t co…”
“Impossible. I’ll have to check.”
Jiang Zhou squatted down, pretending to lift her skirt.
Chu Yuwei didn’t move at all, just stared at him blankly.
“You silly girl, why didn’t you dodge? I’m going to take advantage of you!”
“Didn’t you say you wanted to check…”
Jiang Zhou reluctantly pulled his hand back. “I’ll be honest with you. I want you to go into the restroom and take a look.”
Chu Yuwei tilted her head in confusion. “But I told you, I don’t want to go.”
“You have to go even if you don’t want to!”
“Do you… do you have a special hobby?”
Jiang Zhou couldn’t follow her sudden turn. “What are you talking about?”
Chu Yuwei bit her lip. “Are you trying to go in with ?”
Jiang Zhou reached out and tapped her head. “I’ve noticed you’ve opened a whole new world since you started college, haven’t you?”
“Hmph, then why do you keep telling to go to the restroom?”
“It’s not for you to pee. I think Han Rou has sothing on her mind. Go listen in and co back if it’s nothing.”
“Han Rou…?”
Chu Yuwei thought for a mont, then her eyes widened. “No wonder she kept getting distracted when I was talking to her.”
Jiang Zhou nodded and rubbed her face. “She’s been out of it all day. She won’t tell what’s wrong, so I have to rely on you.”
“Okay, I’ll go listen.”
“Good. Go on, and rember not to let her see you!”
“Okay!”
Chu Yuwei shoved the remaining orange into his hand and hurried to the restroom. While she was gone, Jiang Zhou pulled out the backseat mat and shook it off.
—
It was just after 1 PM. The sun was out, and the air was bright. The rest stop’s parking lot was warm from the sun.
Many people who were taking a break sat on the benches outside, soaking up the sun. Jiang Zhou finished with the mat and leaned against the car to wait.
Five minutes later, he heard a rush of footsteps.
Chu Yuwei had co out of the restroom. Her eyes were red, and she was about to throw herself at Jiang Zhou.
But before she could, he stopped her by putting a hand on her head.
“Did you not wash your hands after using the restroom? Are you trying to wipe them on ?!”
Chu Yuwei suddenly started crying. “Why didn’t you tell about sothing this big sooner?!”
Jiang Zhou’s mouth twitched. “Tell you what?”
“You’re still keeping it from . Do you think I’m stupid?”
“Okay… fine, I admit it. The belt you gave broke.”
Chu Yuwei froze, then waved her hand. “I’m not talking about that!”
Jiang Zhou was even more confused. “Then what did you hear? Why are you reacting like this?”
“Han Rou was crying in the restroom just now! I heard it all! Don’t lie to anymore!”
“Crying? What does her crying have to do with ?”
Just as Jiang Zhou was about to ask more, Han Rou ca out of the restroom. She looked normal, except for her slightly red eyes.
This was why she kept her head down and avoided looking at Jiang Zhou.
“Rou Rou, what’s wrong?”
“N-Nothing, brother. I’m just tired and yawned.”
Jiang Zhou looked at her suspiciously. “Really?”
“Yeah, I can’t help it.” Han Rou cleverly used an excuse to hide her emotions.
But she didn’t know that Jiang Zhou had already noticed her strange behavior.
However, Han Rou clearly didn’t want to tell him, and since she was right there, Chu Yuwei couldn’t say anything either.
Jiang Zhou thought for a mont and decided to wait until they were back in Linjiang to talk about it.
Han Rou had been through a lot of hardship since she was a child. She was a very sensible and well-behaved person. She had also been the student council leader for three years. She wasn’t the type of girl to act on a whim.
Jiang Zhou still had a lot of trust in her. If it was a truly urgent matter, she wouldn’t hide it from him. Maybe she just had her own reasons.
“Hey? Where’s Guo Wei?”
Chu Yuwei raised her hand. “He’s over there.”
Guo Wei was squatting on the ground. He was holding his phone and wiggling around, looking like a big fat worm.
Jiang Zhou quietly walked over and stood behind him for a while.
“Xinxin, are you ho yet?”
“Yeah, Jiang Zhou and the others are at a rest stop. Are you tired?”
“Mmm, I’m already missing you.”
Jiang Zhou gave him a kick and mouthed ‘get in the car’ without making a sound.
Guo Wei imdiately nodded. “Xinxin, I have to go now. We’re leaving.”
“Mmm, love you, bye.”
Jiang Zhou’s teeth were aching. “Jeez, you’ve only been gone for an hour. Is that really necessary?”
Guo Wei proudly lifted his head. “You wouldn’t understand the feeling of being in love.”
“Get your butt in the car and stop wasting ti getting ho.”
“I haven’t peed yet.”
“You’re just like a lazy donkey. So many excuses.”
Jiang Zhou waited for him to finish in the restroom. Then he hit the gas and got back on the highway.
As they approached Linjiang City, it was getting darker and darker. Guo Wei was the first to get out, pulling his luggage as he headed ho.
This ti, however, Jiang Zhou chose a different route.
He first dropped Han Rou off at her house and then took Chu Yuwei to Jiangdong Courtyard.
As they drove down Jinhua Road, which was near the park, it was completely dark.
Jiang Zhou found a place to pull over and looked at Chu Yuwei.
“What did you hear in the restroom?”
When he brought it up, Chu Yuwei started to cry again, biting her lip. Her tearful, sorrowful expression was a devastating blow to any guy.
“She… she said you weren’t going to live long, wuwuwu.”
Jiang Zhou’s head was full of question marks. “Hey! Don’t use Han Rou’s na to curse !”
Chu Yuwei really started to cry. “She really said it! She said ‘brother is going to die’ and ‘sothing about cancer’.”
“‘Brother… is going to die?'”
“You’re still pretending! Wuwuwu!”
Jiang Zhou pinched her ear. “Do I look like I’m about to die?”
Chu Yuwei looked at him. “No, you don’t. So why did Han Rou say that?”
“Alright, don’t ask anymore. I think I know what’s going on.”
