"At this point, I think you were lying to about the outburst he normally has each morning," Natsumi-san said as we were getting ready to leave for our morning jog. She seed to be acting as if everything was fine, but I know for a fact she has a terrible headache going on at this mont. Need to make so miso soup for her breakfast.
"Well, Ethan decided it was going to be a good idea to let try to attack him instead today," I said, tying my shoelaces. "Tried is the key word here."
"Don’t tell you were just flailing your arm at him for hours and not able to get a single hit in," she said jokingly, and I lowered my head in sha.
"It’s going to be okay, Kazu-kun, I know you looked cool even during that," my lovely angel of a girlfriend here tried her best to make feel better, and I can’t be anything but grateful for the gesture.
"I’m sure you would say that even if I stupidly fell down the stairs," I said, getting up.
"No, you would look cute then. The clumsy you has its own charm, you know," she said, patting my head with a huge smile on her face.
"Your headache feeling better?" Natsumi-san asked, and I nodded.
"What about yours?"
"Need so actual food to get that to fully go away." Yep, need to get on the soup the mont I get back.
We all stepped out and went on with the run following Natsumi-san. There wasn’t really much of a difference in our morning training compared to yesterday. Natsumi-san and Ai still have the stamina of a beast, and I was breathless by the end of it. I guess vampires still need to go through the sa struggle with training as humans. What’s the point of turning immortal then? I don’t understand.
Unless they got turned without their consent, then they have my condolences.
My headache from the morning was gone thanks to Ai’s blood and so of Akira’s I drank from the blood bag in the fridge. Once that went away, my mind quickly went back to what Ethan told . I can’t get over the fact that I wasn’t able to clearly answer his question. I had so many reasons, yet I wasn’t able to just say one out with full confidence. It almost makes think my reasons aren’t genuine, but that isn’t the case. I want to get stronger because of them. That is truly my own desire, yet I can’t pinpoint what one reason it would be that would be my own. I would like to answer this question myself, but no matter how much I think about it, nothing cos to mind.
"Get your head in the fight, idiot," I heard as I swiftly dodged an axe kick from Ai aid at Natsumi-san with in the trajectory of it.
"Sorry, Kazu-kun!" she yelped and stopped to look at my face for any damage.
"Get down!" I said, grabbing her head and pushing it down as I crouched at the sa ti, saving us from a devastating head kick from Natsumi-san. "You said you won’t attack us!"
"I will test your awareness when you get distracted mid-battle," she said, standing over us. "Stop babying him in the middle of a fight, Ai. I told you that yesterday, too."
"But what I- "
"If Kazuki can’t handle this much, he is as good as dead out there," she imdiately cut her off. "I know you are worried about him. So am I, but we can’t just look after him forever. Or should I train you two at different tis in the morning?"
"No, I understand. I’m sorry," Ai said, standing up and looking back at with a saddened expression.
"I’m alright, Ai," I said, placing my hand on her shoulder. "Plus, this is far from the worst injury I had as a human. Vampire can withstand way more with no issue."
She nodded her head, and we continued our training as usual, as I always do. Neither of us was able to land a hit on her. By the end of about twelve hours of trying to hit opponents far stronger than those who were holding back, I had landed zero hits. Great going, . Sigh.
We reached back and quickly freshened up. Ai wanted to sneak into my bath but was promptly stopped by Natsumi-san, who showed us the ti. Not much ti was left for us to get to school, and we already had a lot of stuff to take care of. Sulking and very unhappy, Ai went to the other bathroom as we all quickly got ourselves cleaned and ready. I made all the lunches and breakfast while Ai helped with setting the table and packing things up for us. Natsumi-san was the last one to get out, and by that ti, we were ready to eat. Getting her the soup was a good idea since she seed a lot more relaxed thanks to it.
We got in the car, and Natsumi-san drove us to school. Thanks to her borderline illegal speeds of driving, we reached there in no ti, and I found myself staring at Ai, who was sitting in the chair before across my desk.
"What’s wrong, Kazu-kun?" she asked .
"Huh? What?" I was broken from my trance as she grabbed my face in her hands. They were extrely soft and cold. I want to sleep.
"You didn’t listen to a single thing I said in the past ten minutes," she complained, pouting and pulling my cheeks. "Pay attention to your girlfriend!"
"Ouch, ouch, ouch, I’m sorry!" I said, but that didn’t really change the outco. "I’m sorry, my love. I an it!"
"Wha-wha-what?!" she ended up squealing and covering her face, letting go of my poor cheeks. She quickly hid her face as she turned into a big tomato. "Y-your what?"
I smirked proudly and leaned closer to her as I whispered, "My love."
"You’re so an, Kazu-kun!" she said, hitting my arm. "Y-you can’t just use that out here out of nowhere!"
"You don’t like it? Okay, I wi- "
"If you stop, I will never forgive you!" she quickly said, facing . How cute, the little tomato is angry. I couldn’t help but leave a tiny kiss on her nose.
"Get a room, you two!" we heard a familiar voice as Ai’s friends entered the class. How did they end up coming here this early? "Do you guys ever know how to stop?"
They got to my seat and greeted us right before barraging us with teases. Ai kept getting redder as the second passed by, and I couldn’t help but also feel embarrassed at the sa ti. In the anti, more people started to pour into the class I saw the guys enter too. I saw them in the corner of my eyes at first, and clearly when Ai got inevitably pulled away by her group. I waved at the three and decided to stand up to walk towards them, when I already found them walking towards . Okay, now I don’t know what to do.
I can either sit back down and let them co here since they show no clear sign of stopping, but if I do that, it would be deed too rude. On the other hand, if I start walking, we would et sowhere in the middle of the class, which would be pretty weird. What should I do? This seems tough.
As I was thinking that, I looked as they montarily stopped in their path. I let out a little laugh and decided to walk towards them and indicated to them to head to the closest seat between us, which was Tanaka’s.
"This is quite the interesting gathering at my desk," Tanaka said as Kobayashi decided to sit down at his seat. "And why are you sitting down here?"
"Co on, I walk the most out of us three. Let rest my legs," Kobayashi said as he raised his hand before in a handshake, and I raised it too, only to get a clap in it. Right, I’ve seen many people doing them when they et. God, I sound like a grandpa thinking that. "How’s your eye now, Shiba?"
"It’s better, the doctor said the colour may not leave, but I need to keep wearing it since it’s still very sensitive," I explained.
"Why would the colour not leave?" Nakamura asked.
"He said sothing about a blood vessel in my eye bursting due to unusual pressure, and it getting into my iris. It isn’t really anything dangerous according to him, but if I feel the need, I can get it removed through surgery," I ca up with another lie.
"Yikes, sounds painful. It’s better to leave it as is," Kobayashi exclaid.
"Well, I think the surgery would also be pretty painless," Tanaka comnted.
"How would that even be? It sounds painful as hell," Kobayashi snapped back.
"Ever heard of anaesthetics? They would probably put so on the eye to make sure it doesn’t hurt. Of course, they won’t just do it as it is," Tanaka said. "I’m no expert in this, but that makes more sense."
"I say leave it. It looks cool that way," Kobayashi said, raising his hands in defeat. "Can’t wait for the teachers to point it out to him and feel awful when they find out the reason."
"Mishima-sensei will turn red like a tomato if that happened," Nakamura said, and they all laughed.
After that, the bell rang, and we all went back to our seats.
