839: Chapter 104 The Adventure Team in Action 839: Chapter 104 The Adventure Team in Action “Indeed, has Zack sprung a leak?” the priest spoke slowly, “Certainly, given Zack’s character, asking him to disguise himself as Samoer was simply too difficult.
Zack hasn’t t as many strangers in his half of a lifeti as Samoer does in a month.
If it wasn’t absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t have wanted him to show himself.
It’s truly a pity that Samoer is not one of us; otherwise, there wouldn’t have been this vulnerability.
Presumably, the secret lines laid by Jukayse have been discovered, huh?
Continue, what did they do afterward?”
“Zack’s secret lines were only ant to be expendable; their discovery is of no great surprise.
But Zack and Mara are dead.” The voice of the newcor sounded sowhat lancholic as they spoke with a sigh, “Following the secret lines, they traced back to the two of them, and to keep our God’s secrets, Zack and Mara chose to die monts before they were found.
They destroyed their laboratory and, together, embraced the arms of the River of Ti.”
“Let us pay our respects to them,” the priest turned to face the vacant Divine Throne as more than twenty robed figures bowed in unison, offering their respects to their departed companions.
After a few seconds’ pause, the priest stood up and calmly said, “Respects are all we need to offer, not mourning, my friends.
With their lives, the two dedicated their devotion to our God.
There is no death in the River of Ti, and with our God’s generosity, they shall not be forgotten.
Therefore, when we return to the River of Ti, we will surely et with them again.”
“May the glory of our God forever shine upon the expanse of ti,” the newcor bowed again before the Divine Throne, before continuing to speak, “Although Zack and Mara destroyed all the traces that could be destroyed, the others still found so clues from the things around the two of them.
Now I am completely unable to follow their thought process, not even the Oracle from our God can descend, so I have no idea how to cut off the clues and can only watch as they continue to investigate step by step.”
“Oh?
The clues have not been cut off yet?” Even after such bad news, the priest did not show any panic, continuing to calmly ask, “Do they have any new progress?”
“Yes, three days ago, they traced back to ron, who subsequently detonated his own Floating Island.
Unfortunately, although the explosion destroyed two-thirds of ron’s capital, they managed to escape unhard by taking refuge in Kyle’s domain.
There were no casualties,” spoke the newcor sadly, “Regarding this, Chairman Warrensen’s delegates negotiated with them the day before yesterday, but it seems that they were persuaded, failing to halt their investigation.
Instead, the delegates ordered all domains to cooperate with their actions as much as possible.”
“ron has returned, too?” The priest sighed lightly and said, “Warrensen’s reaction is not unexpected; it is very hard for us to completely deceive him, only maintaining a mutual understanding, with him not directly intervening.
Relying on him to stop their investigation is unrealistic.
But I assu ron’s actions must have impacted them in so way.”
“The impact is in fact significant.” The hood of the newcor swayed, as if nodding, “ron’s capital was not prosperous, but the explosion of the Floating Island still caused nearly ten thousand casualties, and the affected civilians even exceeded fifty thousand.
This has caused their investigation to go underground, trying to avoid detection by anyone.
However, this change poses disadvantages for us, too.
If they deliberately go undercover, it will be difficult to monitor their whereabouts like before, unless they are within the controlled range of our own Floating Islands.”
“Nearly ten thousand casualties?” The priest reached up to adjust the hood over his head, in his fingers pale and slender, yet steady without a tremble, “To sacrifice their lives for the glory of our God, that’s their fortune.”
“Yes, the glory of our God is supre,” the newcor said, caressing the Emblem on their chest.
“For the goals of our God, all sacrifices have their necessary value.
The goal of our God will bring glory to the River of Ti.”
“So you an to say, we now have no way to find out the clues they have discovered?” the priest asked calmly, “Nor do we know whom they are targeting as their next breakthrough?”
“No, Elder Brother, quite the opposite,” the newcor shook their head, “According to the last update about their whereabouts, they are advancing toward Reyno’s territory, seemingly choosing Reyno as their next target.”
“Reyno?” For the first ti, a hint of puzzlent laced the priest’s voice, “Reyno isn’t one of us, why would they target him?
You should be more knowledgeable about these matters, possibly able to follow their thought process—what is your opinion?”
“It’s a diversion,” the newcor explained.
“They also know that we can monitor their movents and would prepare in advance based on that.
So, while concealing their tracks, they deliberately show signs of targeting the wrong person to confuse our sight, making it harder for us to discern who they will actually approach next.”
“Highly probable,” the priest pondered for a mont then uttered in agreent, “What is our God’s Oracle regarding their actions?”
“Our God has not bestowed any Oracle,” the newcor shook their head, “I have already reported these updates to our God, but there has been no response.”
“Then there is no need to worry.” Once more, the priest’s voice regained its composure, slowly speaking, “The past, the present, and the future, all things in the world, under the wash of the River of Ti, hold no secrets.
If our God has not given an Oracle, it ans all our plans are unfolding along the predefined path, everything is under control.”
“I firmly believe this, too,” the newcor stated confidently, “But still, there’s so unease, a feeling that the situation might spiral out of our control.
In case they trace it back to us…”
“That would an the outco is also within the plan,” the priest answered without hesitation, “Do not try to guess the will of our God with the eyes of a mortal.
As long as our God’s plan succeeds, everything is expendable, including you and .”
“Yes, everything is expendable,” the newcor said with a resolute tone, “We are all prepared at any mont.”
“That’s good,” the priest nodded and then said, “Their ssage is now complete.
What about our plan, how is the preparation going?”
“The plan is progressing smoothly; all arrangents are complete,” the newcor sounded invigorated, “Without their interference, it should have been quicker.
But even so, everything is finally in place as of today.” (To be continued.
