669: Chapter 33 – Graffiti on the Dragon’s Back_1 669: Chapter 33 – Graffiti on the Dragon’s Back_1 Dragons, in the world of Yarran, are the fastest flying creatures.

Their normal flying speed is approximately four hundred kiloters per hour.

At full speed, it can exceed eight hundred kiloters in an hour.

The powerful wind pressure generated by such rapid flight is enough to tear a normal person’s body to shreds.

Only dragons, with their sturdy bodies, can disregard this powerful wind pressure.

The Red Dragon, Bast, took off into the sky, causing the world to shrink in the eyes of the girls.

In just two or three minutes, they had already reached a height of a thousand ters.

At this elevation, their view beca exceptionally broad.

The vast snowfield beneath them kept shrinking, appearing like a white canvas.

The Golden Dragon Village below beca a small patch of green on the canvas.

The houses and the central altar, however, were completely out of sight.

As they gazed into the distance, all they could see was a vast blanket of white.

Hills and forests covered in thick snow undulated across the snowfield, stretching to the far horizon and rging with the snow-capped mountains.

“So cold…” Lina hugged her chest and shivered as they ascended to the sky, finally understanding the warning Bast gave earlier.

The temperature was low on the snowfield, and even lower after flying up high.

Exhaling on her fingers would create a fine layer of frost on her hands.

Lina hugged her shoulders and jumped up and down to warm herself, her voice trembling, “This won’t do, I underestimated the coldness of the snowfield.

I should have brought an extra coat.”

“Such a blockhead,” Vivian scoffed on the side.

“You’re way too weak.

Look at , I don’t feel cold at all.”

“Well, isn’t that obvious?

You don’t feel the cold,” Lina retorted, rolling her eyes.

“Strip off your clothes and let have them if you’re so tough.

Let’s see if you freeze to death.”

“I would not!

I’m not a fool.” Vivian glared with her big blue eyes, voicing her displeasure, “Big sister, look at this fool!

She’s trying to hurt .

You better teach her a lesson.”

With a headache, Catherine turned her head to gaze at the snowfield, pretending not to hear anything.

In contrast, Pannis was rummaging through his bag, mysteriously saying, “Don’t worry, I’ve planned ahead.”

“Planned for what?” Lina looked at Pannis with anticipation.

“A thicker coat?”

“Nope, look.” Pannis finally pulled out a cylindrical object.

He triumphantly declared,”This is a crystal energy furnace.”

“Seriously?” The girls collectively rolled their eyes at him.

Lina glared and snapped, “You might think it’s a good idea to light a crystal energy furnace on soone’s back, but be careful or you’ll get thrown off.

If you fall, you deserve it.

We don’t want to be smashed to pieces.”

“Relax, it won’t happen, I promise.

Bast is incredibly dull, he won’t even feel it if we light the crystal energy furnace.

We could even drill a hole in his back without him noticing.”

“What the hell is wrong with you?” The flying dragon finally lost his patience, yelling, “You’re the dense one!

I can feel everything you’re doing on my back.

However, the crystal energy furnace won’t be a problem.

Our scales can completely isolate the heat from the furnace.

It will not be an issue.

If you’re really too cold, just use it.”

“Really?

You’re not dull?” Pannis already placed the lit crystal energy furnace on Bast’s back, sat cross-legged by the fire roasting his hands with a dreadful grin.

“Let’s discuss that ti when soone accidentally….”

Before he could finish, Pannis seed to realize sothing.

He stopped speaking abruptly, his smile stiffening on his face.

His hand hovered in the air, trembling uncontrollably.

He didn’t even notice when the flas licked his hands.

Catherine sighed, walked over and patted his shoulder.

This brought him out of his stupor.

Pannis sighed deeply and shook his head with a bitter smile, “I’m okay.

Just rembered sothing.

It’s funny how it feels like it happened yesterday.

It’s a pity….”

“Now you understand how we feel.” Bast turned his head while flying, and once again spat a ball of fire at Pannis.

“Every ti we wake up, we feel the sa way.

We’ve gotten used to it.”

“Ha, hahaha!” Lina was about to drink from a cup of recently heated water when she suddenly burst into laughter.

She laughed so hard she nearly fell over.

The unexpected laughter broke the somber mood and attracted everyone’s attention.

Bast, anwhile, had to maintain his flight, so after his retort, he turned his head back and paid no further attention to what was happening on his back.

After laughing for what seed like an eternity, Lina managed to catch her breath, wiped tears from her eyes, and said amidst continued giggles, “Don’t look at .

I couldn’t help it.

It was too funny.”

“What’s so funny?” Catherine asked, bewildered.

“What did you see that caused you to laugh so hard?”

“It seems you have noticed too.” Pannis no longer seed downcast as before, smiling, he said, “So people have peculiar preferences.”

“Sisters, see for yourself.” Lina pointed to a dragon scale on the dragon’s back.

“It’s utterly bizarre.”

Following the direction Lina pointed to, there was a blaze of red dragon scales.

With the dragon’s size, each scale was almost larger than a normal human’s head.

Only very special parts would have smaller and finer scales, which were generally used as symbols of the Guardians’ friendship.

But obviously, Lina was not referring to these small scales, but the normal ones.

The human head-sized scales were originally smooth and glossy.

They seed to be flickering flas.

However, this beautiful scale was, at an unknown ti, graffitied by soone.

Upon closer inspection of the graffiti, it must be said that it was extrely poorly drawn.

However, one could still discern the content of the graffiti.

At the center of the graffiti, two small figures made from single lines were flying in the sky, with two solid lines behind them representing a pair of wings.

Another figure, ford by obviously shorter lines, represented a shorter figure.

The two flying figures were kicking a third person from above, while the third person on the ground was lying with both hands covering his head.

On one side of the graffiti, the depiction of the fourth person was slightly of better quality.

He appeared to be a man leaning on a spear watching the drama before him.

On the other side, the fifth person was sitting on the ground, and the quality of the figure was almost masterful.

Simple lines outlined the posture of a girl wearing flowers on her head, sitting on the ground, weaving a flower wreath.

Such strange graffiti wouldn’t attract attention on any city street.

Yet, this graffiti happened to appear on a Guardian that represents mighty power and order.

As Lina said, the incongruity was so jarring that it made everyone look bemused.

“Where are you?” Catherine stood behind Pannis, her hand still on his shoulder.

Leaning to his ear, she softly asked, “Why don’t I see your image?”

“I am a flawless man.” Pannis snorted, tilting his head back, “How would I join in their tomfoolery?”

“So, you really want to join in but instead hide, maintaining a stern expression?” Catherine teased quietly, “Aren’t you going to add a few strokes?”

Pannis’s gaze brightened slightly, but in the end, he sighed and shook his head, “Let it be, what’s in the past is in the past.

Trying to make up for it won’t bring it back.

What’s the point then in doing these pointless things?”

“Go on, go on.” Catherine gave Pannis a strong nudge from behind, encouraging him, “How can you say it’s pointless?

Although it can’t salvage anything from the past, it can soothe regret.

That alone gives it significant aning.”

Pannis’s body jerked.

He was silent for a while then slowly stood up and walked towards the graffitied scale.

He seed stooped, as if there were tons of weight on his back.

Under the gaze of the girls, he walked step by step towards the graffiti, squatted down, and with trembling hands, etched his own lines on the scales.

Perhaps due to his inner turmoil, the lines were crooked, but one could still make out the figure standing shoulder to shoulder with the spear-bearing figure, watching the three individuals tussling in front of them.

“Hey, what are you doing behind my back?” The silence behind him made the Red Dragon, Bast, sowhat uneasy.

He looked back and roared, “We’re about to enter the forest.

Do you want to lower the altitude so you can get a clear view?”

“Is that possible?” Lina’s eyes sparkled as she said, “I’ve never seen the Magical Beast Forest before.

But if we decrease altitude, won’t we be affected by the flying magical beasts in the forest?”

“Hahaha, don’t worry!” Bast let out a roaring laugh, “There isn’t a magical beast in the Magical Beast Forest that dares to disrespect the Drakes.

Where we fly, all the beasts in the forest would automatically back down.

This is the authority unique to the Guardian Clan.

So, rest assured.

If you want to see, I’ll lower the altitude.

However, the flying speed will decrease and it’s already nightfall.

It’s pitch black down there, you might not see anything.”

“It’s okay, Mr.

Bast.” Catherine was also curious about the Magical Beast Forest.

She said sowhat shyly, “If it doesn’t trouble you, please lower the altitude to let us have a closer look.”

“Alright then.” With that, Bast tucked in his wings and amidst the startled cries of his passengers, he swooped downwards.
