1273: Chapter 59 Freya 1273: Chapter 59 Freya “Phew, it’s boiling,” Freya fanned herself with the silk handkerchief in her hand, and said laboriously, “I haven’t co to see mom for months, and there’s so much dirt on her grave.”
Just monts before, Freya had ticulously cleaned her mother’s grave, including the sculpture’s base and the grave floor, making them spotlessly clean.
As for the lawn in front of the grave, it did not need the princess’s attention as it was regularly trimd by the cetery staff.
Hence, after Freya’s cleaning, her mother’s grave once again regained its past neatness.
The princess walked around the grave, making sure she did not miss any spots, then satisfied, she nodded her head, casually sat on the stone slab of the gravestone, stretching her full-bodied limbs, and sighed contentedly.
“Hmm, you’re sitting like this, aren’t you worried she might get angry?” Pannis asked with a bitter smile, regarding her behavior as if desecrating the deceased: “You shouldn’t just sit on grave markers and tombs like that.”
“Why would she be angry?” Freya widened her eyes as if it was the most natural thing to say, “She is my mom, not so stranger.
Isn’t it normal to lean on mom’s side?”
“Well, that’s not what I ant.” Pannis touched his nose, his expression strange as he stated, “I’m just worried that she might think you’re too heavy, concerned you might crush her…
hey, why do you bring a weapon to tomb-sweeping?”
Before Pannis could finish, he saw a dark gun muzzle pointing at him; it was a mystery how the princess managed to hide the crystal energy gun under her graceful gown, but it was certain that in less than two seconds, the weapon was ready to be activated.
Pannis scread and only managed to leave a protest behind before turning and running, disappearing among the Rhea pine forest, leaving behind birds that were startled into the air still aimlessly circling and calling.
“That damn Pannis.” Freya waved her fist towards the direction where Pannis had disappeared, unable to suppress a smile herself, the crystal energy gun disassembled into pieces and vanished into her gown instantaneously.
She felt both annoyed and amused, puckering her lips, muttering, “If you think you should have avoided the situation, why didn’t you just say so?
Having to use such a stupid thod, you should have used Catherine’s way and chased you to the entrance of the cetery.”
“Mom, you saw that, didn’t you?” The princess mumbled a few curses, then looked up at her mother’s statue, and spoke with a sweet smile, “This is the man I chose.
How do you like him?
He’s not bad, right?”
“I always thought that with the title of a Holy City princess, I could never find true love in this life.
I even gave up at one point, wanting to use the incident with Wesker to completely step away from the path of romance, never to search for love again,” Freya spoke as if chatting with a real person, “Just like I told you back then, staying with Catherine and the others until they all found their own places.
I was going to settle in the Tower of Colossus, spending my days beside you and dad, and just living out my life.
But now, I’ve t him.
On reflection, living a different kind of life seems quite interesting, though it’s a lot more dangerous and I can’t visit you often.
But I think you would prefer to live this life because it ans not being lonely alone, because it ans being with the person I love.”
“Honestly, when I first t him, I just saw him as a reliable teammate, a comrade who could watch my back, a friend with whom I could talk and who could ease my troubles.
Initially, I never thought that one day he would beco so important in my heart; to , that was an impossible thing.
Even though I guessed his identity, even though he helped resolve my guilt towards Catherine and the others, even though in front of us he turned the impossible into the possible nurous tis, and even though he once saved my life on the ice plains, I had no romantic feelings for him.
Maybe to , at that ti, he was only a friend, distantly close, very interesting, soone whose company could make laugh every day, but that was all until one day, an accident happened.”
“I haven’t told you before, mom, but my feelings for him actually stemd from an accident.
Without that accident, our relationship would have been completely different.
No, that’s not right to say—my attitude towards him would have been fundantally different.
But, the accident just happened,” Freya smiled sweetly, imrsed in the past mories: “Actually, just a few months ago, I rember telling you about our trip to help that idiot Vivian find a treatnt device, and the accident happened during that trip on the ice plains.
Rember?
I told you, I was blown away by an ice storm and ended up lost on the ice plains, all alone and nearly froze to death.
Fortunately, I found a safety house left by soone before, which barely supported through.”
“Yes, that night, I was overly exhausted and fell asleep in the safe house.
I woke up once, and when I did, I saw a pair of glowing eyes by my bedside—it was his eyes,” Freya spoke in a low murmur, “At that mont, I felt an imnse sense of security and naturally fell asleep again.
Though I was already asleep, I could still feel in my dreams that it was the most peaceful night since you left.
After that, I started to see him in a different light, hoping that I could continue this journey with him, to accompany each other for life.
Of course, I know it’s hard to monopolize him, the enemies are really strong, but being together all the ti is not too much to ask.”
“Whether he’s a good man like father, I can’t be sure, but seeing how he treats Lady Nellie, I think he is, so I just don’t want to let this opportunity slip by,” Freya pondered as she spoke, “Many people like him, Catherine, Vivian, Lina, Lady Nellie, and even Queen Flare of the Elves are all attracted to his qualities, even though he’s never really made any promises to us because of Lady Nellie’s circumstances.
But it’s his reluctance to make promises that beca another appealing factor to , making like him more and more.”
“What do you think, mom?
I’ve told you all about him, do you like him?” Freya asked with anticipation, looking up at her mother’s statue, “I keep liking him more and more.
I hope to have your blessing, mom.
Would you agree to let be with him, to be with them?”
