1032: Chapter 147: Targeted Undead Attack 1032: Chapter 147: Targeted Undead Attack “Six, that’s quite a lot…” Catherine didn’t know what expression to make.
When discussing the Undead, she was used to their numbers being in the thousands.
So hearing that there were only six, and that this was considered a lot, she was taken aback for a mont before saying, “Six doesn’t really count as many, right?
Hey, if there are only six, how did they force you to leave your holand?
Are you saying that all six of these Undead are extrely powerful Upper Rank Undead?
No, wait, how many of you Thunder Elents are there?
Six Upper Rank Undead shouldn’t be impossible for you to deal with.
You’re not going to tell they are all Demigod Rank Undead, are you?”
“I don’t know what a Demigod is,” the Thunder Elent crackled.
“That’s your thod of assessing strength, I guess.
We don’t understand it, we just know that they are very powerful, and we can do no harm to them.”
“Sigh,” Catherine let out a long breath and looked helplessly at Flare, asking, “How did you use to communicate with them before?”
“Let do it,” Flare said with a smile as fresh as a blooming flower, speaking gently, “Communicating with them requires not only patience but also understanding so key points.
For example, they hardly ever interact with the outside world, spending their relaxed lives only in the Muddy Land.
On the rare occasions that so of them leave, they rely make a quick loop outside and soon return, never interacting with the other creatures of the world.
So, when you talk to them about Demigods, Legendaries, Upper Ranks and such, they have no possible way of understanding.”
“How can they speak the common tongue then?” Catherine asked, puzzled.
“In such a closed-off environnt, there shouldn’t be anyone to teach them, right?
Is it sothing you taught them when you t last ti?”
“Not at all,” Fula shook her head.
“They already knew how to speak it when I t them.
I asked them the sa question, but even they don’t know the reason.
In the end, we had to leave it as a mystery to be unraveled by future generations.”
“Hmm, so that’s how it is,” the girls stared at the Thunder Elent, filled with puzzlent, especially Lina, whose curiosity almost seed to physically burst forth.
Unfortunately, it seed this question was dood to remain unanswered.
“Let’s do it like this again, Flare; I ask, and you answer,” Flare moved the wooden post closer to the Thunder Elent and sat down, but even as a Demigod, she didn’t want to get too close.
After all, maintaining a Shield constantly damaged by thunder energy isn’t a pleasant experience, so she kept a certain distance, facing the Thunder Elent and asked, “You ntioned there are six Undead causing trouble, forcing you to leave your holand, right?
How does the strength of these six Undead compare to the other large magical beasts nearby?”
“Seems about the sa,” the Thunder Elent recalled for a mont before saying, “I don’t feel any difference.
Should be the sa I guess.”
“Then to the second question,” Flare cast a satisfied glance at Catherine, who blushed slightly.
Indeed, if the other party didn’t understand the thod of dividing strength in the outside world, using creatures they were familiar with as a reference would easily solve the problem.
A simple thod yet the girl hadn’t thought of it montarily.
Fortunately, Flare didn’t tease her too much, just signalling with her eyes before continuing to ask, “Since the strength of the six Undead is similar to the other magical beasts, and since you have lived among other magical beasts for so many years without any trouble, why do you specifically consider those six Undead a major nuisance?”
“Magical beast?
Those creatures don’t disturb us,” the Thunder Elent felt confused and said, “They have their lives, and we have ours.
We don’t affect each other, so why should we consider them a major nuisance?”
“Hmm, thinking about it that way isn’t wrong,” Flare mused thoughtfully.
“Those magical beasts are only hunting for food and fighting over territory, and since they can’t eat you and attacking you has no effect, plus having lived together for who knows how many years, the beasts generation after generation have grown accustod to your presence, so there’s no territorial dispute.
No wonder you can live normally in the Core Area.”
“Yes,” the Thunder Elent said with curiosity, trying to sit down like Flare.
But as soon as it sat down, the violent lightning energy turned the wooden stake crisp and charred black, frightening it into quickly standing up again and continuing, “This is much more fragile than what we usually sit on, I really don’t understand you creatures from the outside.”
“What you usually sit on is stone,” Flare sighed helplessly.
“You just said the magical beasts don’t bother you, but logically, the Undead shouldn’t affect you either.
Compared to you, they should be more likely to bother those magical beasts, right?
Could it be that all the nearby magical beasts have been cleared out by them?”
“No, they only attack us,” the Thunder Elent complained.
“The magical beasts ignore them, and they ignore the magical beasts, but as soon as we appear, they chase us and attack, driving us to distraction.”
“Hold on.” Pannis, who had appeared behind the girls at so unknown ti, was wrapped up with two small Undead and wore a very serious expression.
“You just said the Undead are only targeting you Thunder Elents?”
The Thunder Elent did not answer but instead turned its head away as if it had heard nothing.
Flare couldn’t help but cover her mouth with a smile and shook her head, “Thunder, stop being grumpy.
That’s the key question I wanted to ask as well.”
“Crackle, crackle, crackle,” a series of pops and crackles ca from the Thunder Elent’s body of electric arcs, giving the impression it was cursing in its own language.
After a while, it resud the common tongue, “They only attack us, that should be correct.
I’ve never seen them attack any other magical beast, even if one just passed by.”
“What?
Is there a problem?” the girls noticed that both Pannis and Flare, including the Winged people twins and the scorpion-tailed lion, all had a solemn expression.
Catherine asked with a frown, “Shouldn’t that be the case?”
“Yes, it’s understandable that magical beasts don’t attack the Undead since they’re just lifeless objects that can’t be eaten.
It’s unheard of for magical beasts to attack a stone or a tree without reason.
But that the Undead don’t attack magical beasts is a problem,” Pannis explained.
“Theoretically, Undead should hate all living beings, not just intelligent creatures.
That ans humans, Elental Creatures, and magical beasts, to them, are indiscriminate targets.
But now there’s an abnormal phenonon, and it’s created by six Undead together.
This is probably not good news.
Perhaps, these six Undead already have their own consciousness, heh, conscious Demigod Rank Undead, and they’re appearing at the edge of the Divine Servant’s territory.”
“The situation may not be as bad as you think,” Flare disagreed with a shake of her head, offering consolation.
“At least that’s what the outco so far suggests.”
“I understand your thoughts and I don’t deny that there’s a possibility, but we can’t place our hopes on a ‘maybe,'” Pannis stroked his chin in thought and then asked the Thunder Elent, “Have you considered what your situation would be like now if it weren’t for the harassnt of these Undead?”
