Chapter 232 [I’m Going to Kill You!!!]
The two rushed into the depths of the pyramid, sprinting past one chamber after another as the pursuing undead rcenaries closed in from behind.
Chen Nuo tossed grenades behind him from ti to ti, using the explosions to slow down the enemy’s pursuit.
After several such delays, the grenades were depleted. However, the commotion from the explosions inside the sealed pyramid had successfully attracted the entire undead army. Vanel saw an arrow pierce the stone pillar right beside him! The arrow had nearly grazed his ear!
The bear-like man glanced out of the corner of his eye, and his heart skipped a beat.
The recent grenade explosions had collapsed two archways, piling rubble on the ground and slowing the undead rcenaries’ chase.
But looking now, several figures dressed as ancient Maya warriors were rapidly catching up!
These figures seed hardly human. They scaled walls and even moved across the ceilings within the pyramid. So climbed as rapidly as geckos, using all fours and holding daggers in their mouths!
Others, ard with bows and arrows, leaped among the stone pillars, their agility surpassing that of parkour experts!
Even in mid-leap, they could draw their bows and shoot at him and his companion!
Vanel cursed aloud and quickened his pace, nearly overtaking Chen Nuo.
A bright light appeared ahead. Both n erged one after the other from an archway, finally having traversed the pyramid’s interior!
As Chen Nuo ran out, he had already pulled out a square-shaped object. He turned and slapped it onto the archway!
"TNT? Damn! When did you get your hands on this thing?"
"Critical items are ant for critical monts!!" Chen Nuo roared as he scrambled down the pyramid’s slope.
BOOM!!
A massive explosion thundered from behind. Vanel even felt the steps beneath him shake violently. He stumbled and nearly fell down the stairs but was caught by Chen Nuo.
Looking back, the archway of the pyramid was now blocked by a heap of collapsed stones.
The two n simultaneously exhaled a breath of relief.
They could breathe a little easier for the mont. If the undead wanted to pursue them, they would have to take a detour around the side.
"To the ground! Let’s get to the city buildings and use hit-and-run tactics!" Chen Nuo shouted.
It was a good idea. Vanel imdiately showed his agreent with action—he ran even faster than Chen Nuo!
Just as the two were sprinting down from the pyramid and had stepped onto the ground...
BOOM!!!!!
A thunderous noise seed to co from the sky!
Both n instinctively lunged forward and flattened themselves on the ground.
Looking up, they saw the battle between the top-tier combatants had already begun high in the air so distance away.
The Son of the Sun had soared from the ground into the sky. Although his power was suppressed here and he couldn’t maintain flight, he still leaped upwards like a teor streaking towards the heavens!
Unable to project his power outward, aning he lost the ability to use his flashy special skills, the Son of the Sun turned his own body into the most direct weapon and lunged toward John Sterling. The portly old man, blazing with light, truly resembled a radiant star at that mont.
John Sterling also floated in midair. The two collided head-on, bursting with spectacular radiance!
Black mist swirled around John Sterling, imdiately overwhelming the red glow emanating from the Son of the Sun!
The entanglent of black and red in the sky lasted only a few seconds before a trendous shockwave erupted. The Son of the Sun was slamd to the ground like a spiked volleyball!
Amidst a series of CRASHES, the portly old man slamd into the ground, creating a crater. He then bounced up, smashed down again, and bounced up once more...
In the sky, John Sterling recoiled dozens of ters. He seed to stagger slightly but managed to maintain his flight. With a twist of his body, he shot like a gale towards the Son of the Sun on the ground!
"Hey!!"
A sharp cry ca from the ground! Sea Monster had already launched his Trident, sending it hurtling toward John Sterling in midair.
John Sterling paused. He gestured at the oncoming Trident, and it froze in midair. On the ground, Sea Monster coughed up blood.
anwhile, Bonfrey began to radiate a brilliant golden light. He ripped off his outer clothing, revealing his fair skin, beneath which a golden Rune was faintly visible!
Bonfrey actually flew into the sky! He pointed with both hands, and with a few quick gestures, a patch of the black mist surrounding John Sterling was torn away!
John Sterling snorted coldly. He swiftly manipulated a wisp of black mist, which shot out and wrapped around Bonfrey in midair. The light from Bonfrey’s Rune dimd instantly. John Sterling sneered, "What delicious spiritual power!!"
The golden light of the Rune seed to be devoured by the black mist, flowing towards John Sterling.
Suddenly, a furious roar erupted from the ground, and a boulder over two ters tall hurtled upwards.
The boulder struck John Sterling. His outer layer of black mist absorbed its impact. However, the tendril of mist entangling Bonfrey lost control and retracted. Bonfrey imdiately plumted from the sky but was caught by Sea Monster, who had rushed over to help.
On the ground, the Son of the Sun had already hefted another boulder and hurled it fiercely at John Sterling.
John Sterling was prepared this ti. With a point of his hand, the boulder exploded in midair, turning into a cloud of dust!
However, from within the cloud of dust, the Son of the Sun leaped up again. He shot through the powdery haze and charged straight at John Sterling!
BANG!!
After they collided again, the Son of the Sun was once more smashed to the ground.
This ti, however, it was clear that the black mist surrounding John Sterling had weakened considerably.
For the first ti, everyone could clearly see John Sterling’s face!
The strange, light-refracting black mist around him had finally thinned! John Sterling’s gaunt face was revealed to everyone for the first ti!
Contrary to expectations, the man’s face wasn’t terrifying. Though emaciated, he was actually quite handso. However, his skin had a deathly pallor, like that of a corpse, giving him an eerie, unsettling appearance.
The portly old man climbed out of the pit, quickly dusted himself off, muttered a couple of curses, and then looked up at John Sterling in the air.
"We need to bring him down! Otherwise, with him able to fly, we’re at a serious disadvantage on the ground," Golden Bird interjected quickly.
"Easy for you to say! If you think you can do it, go ahead!" the Son of the Sun retorted, annoyed.
Golden Bird replied resentfully, "Just get him to land once! Create an opportunity for , and I can make sure he won’t be able to fly again!"
"?" The Son of the Sun glanced at Golden Bird. "Hey, you there—the one who could be a man or a woman—are you serious?"
"...Yes, I’m serious."
The Son of the Sun’s spirits imdiately lifted. He shouted to Bonfrey and Sea Monster, "Did you hear that? Everyone, spread out! I’ll find a way to bring him down once! Then, we’ll do as this... lady... says!"
Golden Bird rolled its eyes. Damn it! He calls ’the one who could be a man or a woman,’ but now that I offer a solution, suddenly I’m a ’lady’?!
"Stop gawking, run!" Chen Nuo pulled at Vanel, who was still watching the distant battle.
To the right of the pyramid, the undead army had already exited through an archway on its far side and was now circling around on the ground to intercept them.

The two of them ran wildly at the base of the pyramid, circling it while being pursued by the undead army.

"Where’s your solution?!"
"I’m using it right now! This is it!" Chen Xiaoguo declared, his tone brimming with confidence.
Vanel’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. He gasped while running, "Your solution is just to lead these undead in circles?"
"Right!"
"What kind of crap solution is that!"
"It’s called... the magical rry-go-round of love..."
Although Vanel didn’t understand the reference, the expression on his face clearly said: Are you ssing with again?!
By the ti they were leading the undead army around the base of the pyramid for the third lap, Vanel felt that this ti, that bastard Harvey might actually get him killed!
No, he was ’definitely’ going to be killed by that bastard!
It was only because this horde of undead was brainless, focused solely on pursuit. If even a few of them had possessed an ounce of sense and decided to split off to intercept, they would have easily surrounded him and Harvey.

Where is he?! Where’s my damn partner?! Sukabule!!!! When did that son of a bitch sneak off? How could he just vanish?!
The undead continued their silent pursuit. Vanel cursed loudly, leading the undead army for another half lap. Suddenly, he looked up and saw a figure he loathed to his very core, casually sitting on the pyramid steps, more than ten ters above him.
It truly was that infuriating, shaless bastard!!!
The sight nearly made Vanel’s blood vessels burst!
That son of a bitch had sohow climbed up the steps and was resting up there! Just watching , watching run around in circles leading this undead army all by myself! That alone would be infuriating! But what the HELL is that cigarette doing in your hand?!!!
Once Chen Nuo saw he’d been spotted, he gave a sheepish smile, quickly flicked away the cigarette butt, and instantly switched to a concerned, enthusiastic expression. He then shouted down to Vanel:
"Davarishi! Quick, co up here!!"
Vanel completely snapped. Davarishi?! Davarishi, my ass! I’m going to kill you when I get up there! To hell with it! If I’m going down, you’re coming with ! We’re all going to die! ALL OF US!!!
