You overhear so tipsy villagers claiming that their village is the birthplace of the one who beca master of the world, or at least that it was rebuilt on this very spot. They suspect that one day the Central Empire will launch its troops against Faraway to claim this village as the birthplace of their founder. They can already picture themselves welcoming their victorious soldiers with the cry, “The enemies of the Empire must perish!”.

So travelers are discussing the dangers threatening the earldom of Thotherside, to the south. Pursued by the kingdom of Nonearby, nurous rebels supporting a colonel who recently attempted a coup, amidst a turbulent succession, have taken refuge in Faraway. Their forces are gradually coalescing into a veritable army and are plundering the region. With the kingdom's army virtually annihilated by the dragon, the Earl's soldiers stand alone against this threat.

It is also rumored that Nonearby’s troops are massing at the borders to exterminate the rebels, even at the risk of provoking a diplomatic incident. However, few believe they will dare cross for fear of being annihilated by the dragon. It is said that the dragon has already destroyed one of their fortified outposts as a warning.

Rumor also has it that a princess from across the seas has arrived at the court of Talipeca, the capital, to marry Crown Prince Gaspar. This would be cause for celebration, as the kingdom is still mourning the kidnapping of Princess Gina by the dragon and the resulting heavy taxes and military losses.

Even more fantastical rumors speak of strange phenona occurring on the western border, near the Enchanted Forest. Mysterious disappearances of people who were, in fact, on the right bank: on the opposite side from the forest…

Of course, you also gather so information about local pilgrimage sites. You learn, for example, that by heading north from Crossroads, you will reach the famous village of Val-Hero, birthplace of the legendary hero who, with his mighty sword, repelled many monsters and helped consolidate the early kingdom of Faraway.
