The mountain path is lined with steps carved directly into the rock. You wonder what the history of this place might be. As you continue your ascent, you notice a cave, clearly designed as a resting place for passing travelers. There are benches hewn from the stone and a small fountain channeling a natural stream.
A strange figure occupies one of the benches. It resembles a monkey, about four feet tall, with a thin body dressed in strangely made human clothing and wearing a golden diadem encircling its head. Its eyes are half-closed, and it sits cross-legged, ticulously picking its nose with a small stick. In front of it is a small bowl with a small sign that reads: “The Great Saint Equal to Heaven: leave a gold coin to be flooded with his wisdom.”
