As you turn a corner, you discover a strange sculpture. It's a statue of a rchant or adventurer, a bag on his back and a finger raised forward. On his chest, a rosette represents the four cardinal directions.
As you pause for a mont to observe this curiosity, you notice that its base is made of a pile of stones of varying sizes, held together with mortar. An inscription, almost erased by ti and engraved in a sowhat archaic style, reads: “You are not lost if you have no destination.”
If you co across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
You raise an eyebrow, surprised by this strange maxim. A detail of the base then catches your eye. Among the stones used to build it, one seems very old. It is still engraved with strange runes, so damaged that you can't say for sure if it's an Elvish language. In any case, that's your first thought.
Would you like to observe this stone more closely in 70? Or else, leave it alone and return to the morized number.
