Chapter 812: Chapter 812: The Secret of the Revenge Army

Uncle Zaku said he wanted to see Milia first. Of course, that’s not a problem. My only feeling is that this guy is really unreliable, traveling several astronomical units just to see his daughter…

Of course, the above was just a malicious brain supplent from . Uncle Zaku’s serious expression made realize that the situation might not be so simple.

“I can’t say for sure yet, there are so personal matters of ours,” Zaku scratched his head hesitantly, “You know, I found Milia in an ancient relic, and recently there’s been a little situation. I’m not sure if I should trouble you with it, so I need to talk to her first.”

“I’ll arrange it for you, you can take the Second Column’s transport ship back.” I agreed quickly, after all, Milia was originally his family mber. That girl only went to the frontline because of her own rebelliousness, and I felt a bit embarrassed about this matter.

Zaku seed to show a longing expression: “Your spaceship?”

I imdiately looked at him warily: “Warning you, if you dare do your old tricks on my ship, just wait to be bombarded by the patrol soldiers.”

Everyone knows what Zaku does, dealing with scraps from the battlefield all his life. Although he hadn’t interacted with relics for a substantial period, back in the day, he made a fortune by drilling into Imperial relics. I have no doubt that upon seeing a brand new Imperial battleship, he would be tempted to knock off sothing from it. Those who engage in tomb raiding and archaeology all have this habit. Qianqian’s dad was an archaeologist his whole life, and now the family doesn’t let him go on historical tourism alone because the old master habitually takes out a shovel, and he ends up getting restrained by those with red rings…

If Zaku dares to take a shovel to the warship, he’ll be restrained by more than just those with red rings.

Uncle scratched the back of his head, giving an innocent smile. This was the sa way I smiled when I failed an exam cheat attempt with Qianqian and got caught by the teacher!

“What else do you have to say?”

Ignoring Uncle Zaku, I turned my attention to the Pope. Still, I truly don’t believe he brought a bunch of governnt representatives just to disgust . He’s quite a man of action, having been in his second childhood from twenty-three straight to three hundred and twenty-three without missing a day. Just for maintaining the order of Mobra, he has countless ways to forcibly control the governnt army with his church army.

“Mainly to let the Holy Sage see Mobra’s plight,” a deep voice ca from behind the mask, but after knowing the true body of the other side, I understood it was actually thanks to a three-dinsional sound system attached to the mask. His real voice was like an inner manager, “Our citizens indeed lack experience. A little panic has led to many unnecessary casualties. When the Brown Earth Star was attacked, many people self-immolated or self-hard near the Vatican to pray to you. The faith I’ve been promoting now seems to have signs of getting out of control—of course, we’ll find a way to gradually solve this problem.”

I looked at him impatiently: “If you don’t get to the point, I’ll leave first. Notify when you get to the important part.”

Pope: “…”

I can’t do mind-reading, but I can guess what the other side is thinking: Why is it so jumpy talking to this person?

I can easily judge what the other side thinks because since I took office (also known as ascending the throne), every high-ranking mber of various races I knew had this evaluation of , but I feel wronged. It’s their habit of speaking in circles and never getting to the point when talking. In political circles, it’s basic professional etiquette not to ntion any particular business in less than three thousand words. But since I was little, my best nonsense is still “Have you eaten yet?” which the other side is definitely not used to—these days, it’s rare to see news spokespeople who don’t start by thanking their family kettle all the way to the President of the United States.

The Pope was choked by my words for a long ti before he finally nodded awkwardly: “In fact, we are indeed in trouble, not Mobra, but us—”

The Pope said, pointing to several Knight Commanders beside him.

“The Sin Punishnt Gun is not very controllable for us.”

“Nonsense, that wasn’t yours to begin with,” Tex muttered while drinking.

No one paid attention to this unstable elent who was drinking himself into a ss just after the battle. I looked at the Pope with a stern expression: “The Sin Punishnt Gun is out of control? You can’t contact those ard satellites?”

“Not completely out of touch,” the Pope said, “So far, we can still sense the Sin Punishnt Gun and send commands to them, but their response speed has noticeably decreased. And most of the ti, we can feel those ancient weapons running sothing on their own, not attacking, but… commands we can’t understand. Basically, they’re running themselves when no one is controlling.”

What the Pope said was unclear, but I had already started to take it seriously.

After so inspection, we confird the Sin Punishnt Gun to be over ten high-powered ard satellites left by the Revenge Army, distributed in several space folds in the sa coordinates but different dinsions of the Mobra Star System. In other words, in terms of coordinates, these ard satellites are located in the Mobra Star System, but they are enclosed in a highly warped spatial shell, making conventional detection thods ineffective. This is also a commonly used encapsulation thod for most Imperial super space-ti armors. I believe the main purpose is for dust protection…

Those ard satellites have super space-ti strike capabilities just like the satellites Milia commanded, capable of striking any world under a commander’s guidance. Their ferocious power once helped the Holy Pope unify the world. To be fair, while these things appear incredibly powerful in the eyes of ordinary races, even enough to let the person who owns them put their face on every coin in the world within a few years, to , they aren’t that advanced in equipnt terms. Among the Empire’s conventional weapons, there are over eight series and one hundred and twenty or so varieties of similar satellites. Pandora often used this accessory to shoot the eye on Canis Majoris out of boredom, even Tsuruya has the authority to mobilize Satellite Cannons—you can see how widespread this accessory’s usage is in the Imperial Army.

So the problem with the Sin Punishnt Gun in the Pope and those knights’ hands originally wasn’t a big deal, at least it wasn’t in our view. But the situation beca complicated as it did in tumultuous tis with all kinds of undercurrents stirring in the Revenge Army. At this critical juncture, I had to adopt the mindset of associating soone deflating a tire with doomsday, officially known as paranoia.

The Pope explained to in detail about the Sin Punishnt Gun’s issues. I gathered three useful pieces of information: First, the Sin Punishnt Gun… let’s call them ard satellites, they are still usable and obey commands. Second, those ard satellites had been sluggish in reaction since a few days ago because they were dealing with many extra tasks. Third, I found out after summarizing the first two points there’s nothing more.

After thinking for a mont, I felt a bit of sweat on my forehead.

“I’m afraid I have so bad news,” I gave the Pope a heads-up, “those satellites can no longer be used.”

The Pope remained silent, just quietly watching—at least the mask faced this way. He was waiting for to continue speaking.

“Not only can they not be used anymore, but I need to imdiately send people to destroy them, along with every Holy Relic in the Mobra Star System; every single one of them needs to be assessed. Anything still in operation must be dismantled.”

Because I suddenly thought of sothing: although the intelligence shows that when the Revenge Army left this universe many ages ago, they destroyed the bases here and de-registered the remaining Imperial facilities, setting them to offline mode. But do they really have no way to bring these devices back online?

If all these Revenge Army legacies are activated…

We’d be surrounded!

So upon hearing the Pope’s report of this phenonon, the first thing that ca to mind was that the commander of the Revenge Army finally rembered the non-combustible waste they discarded many years ago and is now attempting to remotely activate these devices. We must imdiately send people to inspect all still-operational Imperial relics, and if any of those devices show such tendencies, they must be dismantled at once, including those more than ten historically valuable ard satellites. At this point, it’s not a matter of wastefulness anymore—those unsafe things absolutely cannot be kept!

As for the Pope and others who have lost the huge reliance on ard satellites, they also need to be sorted out. At present, it seems they are quite conscientious in their new role; we can’t just disarm them for other reasons, especially since I still need them to help manage this civilization with their authority. I promised to provide them with so substitute items, derived one hundred percent from New Empire technology, completely under our control: this would make it easier to regulate the Pope and others.

I sent people to escort the Pope and Uncle Zaku to the Starport. The forr needs to return to Mobra, while the latter follows the transport ship back to the Mist God Star first. Milia is still anxiously waiting there for the battlefront reports on the Brown Earth Star. Uncle Zaku’s sudden appearance might be a pleasant surprise for her. As I returned to my room to take a break, I found Sandora already waiting for here.

“Ah Jun, I have sothing for you to see.”

Upon eting, Sandora promptly activated the holographic device in the room, appearing eager and impatient. Generally, only two things could stir her this much: one would be that a al is ready, the other… still a al.

But clearly, it’s not alti now, so I suspected that this girl had made a major discovery that could excite the usually calm Queen so much.

The holographic image depicted the vast outer space, with distant stars ceaselessly twinkling. Then, appearing in the center of the view were a bunch of numbers constantly jumping around.

I felt those numbers severely dampened my interest in star-gazing, so I suggested, “Girl, could you turn off these digits first?”

She tossed a sidelong glance and replied, “The point is to look at this data. Oh, I forgot, Ah Jun doesn’t recognize it.”

Why did that sentence make feel like she was implying I was illiterate?

“What does it an?”

Not wanting to dampen Sandora’s enthusiasm, I pretended to fully understand, standing beside her and glancing rapidly at the pile of numbers and symbols. After they were almost on a ntal scroll inside my head, I curiously asked.

“These are the space signals we detected before the Revenge Army attacked Brown Earth Star,” Sandora replied.

I was startled: “Space signals? Wasn’t it impossible to warn about their actions?”

“But coincidentally, when they opened the space rift, we happened to have a probe cruising nearby. These data were intercepted by the probe during routine scans. Although they’re very basic, we can deduce a lot from them.”

I finally understood why Sandora was so excited: we finally obtained firsthand data on the exact mont of space jump by the Revenge Army, and it’s from their exit point! Of course, I imdiately inquired how the enemy arrived, but Sandora waved her hand in front to signal patience, for she discovered sothing else “by the way.”

“These are the space coordinates where they jumped out during the attack on Brown Earth Star,” Sandora said, marking a point on the star map, “and here are the coordinates reported by the patrol team previously ambushed on the Fifth Orbital. They encountered the Revenge Army’s squad there.”

The two coordinates matched perfectly, completely overlapping.

“I should have noticed this earlier, but the sudden assault on Brown Earth Star made overlook that patrol team,” Sandora exhaled, as she always did after solving a problem. “The small patrol squads of the Revenge Army recently appearing frequently on the Main Material Plane weren’t wandering aimlessly; they were scouting.”

Sandora patiently explained her thoughts, and those of the Commander at the Command Center and Bubbles, based on the synthesized results of all current data. Ultimately, a vague action plan of the Revenge Army unfolded before .

The enemy’s small-scale fleet keeps entering and exiting the Main Material Plane, but due to so unknown reason, this movent is uncontrollable, aning that the Revenge Army themselves aren’t sure where their dispatched small units would transmit to. Therefore, the mission of those small units is actually to confirm coordinates. According to Sandora’s analysis, although they can’t control where they appear, once the transmission is successful, they could leave so space coordinates at the location by so unknown ans. Next ti, they can open a space rift directly at that location for the larger forces to arrive. In other words, those previously wandering Revenge Army squads were actually pioneering, and we are the wildland…

After these patrol squads confird the space coordinates, the Revenge Army would consider transmitting their main forces. By then, their transmission thod wouldn’t be like the previous Mist God Star surprise attack transmission, which could be pre-alerted, but an unanticipated sudden appearance similar to the attack on Brown Earth Star.

This effectively explained how today’s troops bypassed the gravitational interference shell marked by the Mist God Star and directly appeared within the Fifth Orbital.

Knowing this pattern of enemy transmission, we can deliberately lay out defenses, for instance, encountering the enemy’s “calibration force” near the main base, we can imdiately shift the main force or set ambushes nearby, or outright use a bunch of Space Internal Bombs to shatter the spatial order there. Although it wouldn’t entirely stop the enemy’s elusive maneuvers, we would significantly increase the chance of inflicting additional casualties on their surprise attacks.

“Now, there’s only one thing I’m unclear about,” Sandora slightly frowned, her expression puzzled, “The Universe is so vast, within hundreds of billions of light years, trying to find our coordinates needle-point precisely like this, the probability is practically zero. A single patrol squad can calibrate a one-light-year space span; they simply don’t have enough force for so many…”

“So those patrol squads probably aren’t completely aimless after all.” I also realized sothing, then conveyed the information just provided by the Pope to Sandora: so Old Empire facilities are triggering anomalously.

Sandora’s eyes widened in shock, suddenly having an epiphany: “I see, this clarifies it. The Revenge Army uses the remnants of their ancient relics as vague coordinates! Since they regard the Xyrin Apostles as enemies, they must have deduced that we’ll appear near those Imperial Relics, so their patrol squads would only appear in sky zones with Imperial Relics. The Old Empire relics are vague coordinates, small patrol squads verify and add precise coordinates, and finally, large forces transmit, a three-stage process of searching for enemies… Truly unexpected, that they would employ this thod… This further corroborates my hypothesis.”

“Hypothesis?”

I suddenly rembered Sandora had a more significant matter to apprize , and all those coordinates were rely incidental. However, it’s only been an hour since she left irritated at the Mobra Governnt representative, so what exactly did she figure out during this period?

Sandora adopted a serious expression, pointing to the flashy pile of numbers on the star map: “This data was just analyzed by Bubbles; regarding that hypothesis, I had been pondering it over for the past few days, and now it’s finally confird: the reason the Revenge Army is always elusive is because they co out from the Shadow Space!”

I was shocked, and then shocked again, afterwards… I didn’t fully grasp it.

“Ah Jun is so dense!” Sandora sighed helplessly, “Did you forget about the relationship between Shadow Space and reality space?”

“Shadow Space and reality space overlap, separated by conceptual layers and a space barrier. Everything in Shadow Space originates from reality space, but this replication process is controllable, and communication between them in this manner is impossible. That’s about it; the rest I haven’t finished reading yet, just the catalog is several GBs…”

“Exactly,” Sandora nodded, “Shadow Space and reality space overlap but do not communicate. The space where our Shadow City is located is like that, though it has an expansive Void Space, its main part, which is Shadow City, overlaps with K City in the real world. Therefore, we can also transport to any location in K City by directly entering the real world from Shadow Space on the spot.”

I realized, rembering how we could often skip fares like this when teleporting from Shadow City.

But after realizing it, I quickly raised a series of questions, “So hurry up and tell ! How co the Revenge Army can directly switch from Shadow Space when they jump? How do they fail to determine their coordinates when switching out from Shadow Space? When we make a direct switch from Shadow City, how co we can’t figure out our coordinates? With the Revenge Army directly switching from the Shadow Space, how big that space must be!”

Yes, how big must that Shadow Space be! According to Sandora’s analysis, there exists a massive shadow space parallel to the entire universe… wherever their patrol teams have shown up so far, their Shadow Space must be at least that large. The problem is, based on records, they’re everywhere in hundreds of light-years…” Sandora softly continued, “That should be the truth: in this universe, there exists a giant shadow space as vast as the whole world… they, they have found a way to use that paralleled shadow space as a blurred coordinate! Once transferred successfully, they can leave an exact space coordinate at the site and then open a space rift directly there on their next transfer, execute a three-step plan to search and attack the enemy…”

Knowing this transmission pattern of the enemy allows us to strategically deploy defenses, for example, encountering their forces near the main base, we can imdiately move the main troops or set up an ambush nearby, or destroy the space order there with a bunch of space internal bombs. This way, although we still cannot completely eliminate the enemy’s elusive actions, we can at least inflict so unpredicted casualties during their large-scale invasions.

“So, they could be targeting any remnants of the Old Empire based on this hypothesis,” observed Sandora with understanding finally dawning on her, “Their intention was to use their Shadow Space to hide those small units all along. Then, through the vague coordinates provided by the Old Empire’s relics and their probes, they are trying to determine exact coordinates to launch their major forces and open portals directly in critical locations.”

The real scope of Shadow Space must be vast! According to Sandora’s instructions, the current understanding is that wherever those patrol squads have appeared, their shadow space must be at least that large. However, their records show that they have appeared in several hundred light-years across the Universe… (To be continued)
