(Alas, I almost really forgot to ask for monthly votes... I’ve been wondering these past few days why sothing seed amiss. Asking for votes at month-end!)
We had replaced the Sky Corridor above Mobra with bidirectional synchronous transmission technology, which could be said to have perfectly executed a "ti-stealing substitution."
Both the genuine Star Ring and the replica were transmitted to each other’s coordinates, minimizing the interference with the causal laws of this space. Not only did this make the entire replacent process flow smoothly, but it also alleviated a great deal of pressure on Qianqian, allowing her to maintain a temporal standstill for a bit longer. However, the whole process lasted less than three seconds, and after three seconds, the transmission was successfully completed.
The space station resud operation, and shuttles continued their busy trajectories through space. Energy collection stations near the Star Ring still flickered with blue light. In the distant Blue Light Grand Cathedral, crazy followers of ancient knowledge continued their mass. The solar flare caused by the Ravens was still ongoing, and corona material continued to disrupt communication systems near Mobra Planet, but the interference quickly dropped to normal levels. Ground personnel on Mobra started to panic as they checked their radars and the spaceships which had temporarily lost contact above. So officials only understood what had happened after several minutes, then began to worry about how to handle the economic losses caused by the solar storm, which together lasted less than ten seconds. Communication interruptions rendered the entire Mobra Planet unable to contact personnel near the "Sky Corridor" for several seconds, but no one realized that the sacred corridor overhead had montarily beco as eerily still as a paused photograph. anwhile, those working near the Sky Corridor mysteriously lost three seconds of ti, unaware of what they had experienced, knowing only that there was a slight discrepancy between the duration of the communication breakdown reported from the ground and what they had perceived.
But nobody would discover this three-second discrepancy—Qianqian had already corrected any errors that had arisen from it, and now she was rubbing her head against , nudging like a little dog seeking praise.
"Perfect," I said in satisfaction as I stroked Qianqian’s head and also pinched Visca’s soft little cheeks by my leg. Although this mission wasn’t very monuntal, it certainly tested our technology, especially the synchronization of skills between all units and Qianqian’s ability. It was proven that everyone involved in the mission perford exceptionally well. Now, the ancient Star Ring was quietly lying inside an outpost several light-years away, undergoing a comprehensive inspection and packing by Imperial Technicians, ready to be transported back to Shadow Base. I believe Taville would be more than happy to personally polish and wax it.
But then—well, those two words have trapped more than once, and it now seed they planned to do so again.
There’s a saying in this world: plans cannot keep up with changes. You never know what the Goddess of Destiny plans to do to you next, just as I never know what color the world inside Qianqian’s head is. Just when I thought everything was settled and I was ready to return to my companion, a very urgent broadcast suddenly rang out from the bridge: "Daddy! Super ergency!"
Almost imdiately upon hearing Bubbles’ voice, the alarm for a Type Three Enemy Situation echoed inside the Imperial Admiral—Type Three Enemy Situation refers to not detecting any enemy movents, not finding any explicit enemy attack alarms, but being able to confirm that the situation is about to drastically change for the worse, with the probability of deterioration exceeding fifty percent. The continuous and urgent alarms resonated in the air and through the spiritual link. Sandora’s ergency command was imdiately issued to every unit: "Ergency situation! Stop all activities! Strengthen the concealnt level of headquarters!"
"What’s happening, what’s happening?" Still clueless, I wasn’t accustod to being connected to the information network every second like Bubbles, completely unaware of what was occurring.
"An information storm, still ongoing," Bubbles’ image appeared on the massive holographic projection, her face full of anxiety and frenzy. "It burst forth at the sa mont the Star Ring was transported, originating from the entire universe! Look at this!"
As she spoke, Bubbles displayed a complex curve chart. I couldn’t understand the data on it, but I could still make out the words "cosmic background radiation" beside the curve chart, and that gave a start: when did the waveforms of cosmic background radiation start convulsing like this?
"The mont the Star Ring was transported, an information disturbance erupted in space, causing cosmic background radiation and various constants to fluctuate. This information is still resonating everywhere in space, and opening any high-frequency radar can receive it. It looks like a full-spectrum broadcast, but I’m still decrypting the content. Whatever it is, it’s definitely related to your operation, and it’s definitely not good news!"
Planning for the worst in any ergency is a good habit. This aligns perfectly with the usual luck index of our disaster-prone Imperial Leaders like us. Following suit, Sandora imdiately issued orders for reinforced concealnt and all-around defense, which was very necessary, as we soon detected more complex and abundant information bursts in space. Unlike the first information burst that filled the entire background radiation, the subsequent bursts of information showed certain intentions. They scanned the vastness of space in batches, dividing it into many quadrants like slicing a cake, with various incomprehensible signals rapidly oscillating within these quadrants. Invisible barriers kept them from interfering with each other. Imdiately, Bubbles found an interpretation for this phenonon from her own database:
Equipnt of the Revenge Army for world detection!
During Sandora’s reign, the Revenge Army used devices to monitor the Empire’s territory, instantly radiating information throughout the universe with no delay, through a thod of angular divisions that segnted the cosmic space into many equally sized quadrants. In each quadrant, scanning signals resonated, and by analyzing the differences between these feedback signals, they quickly determined the location of abnormal quadrants and then further divided and scanned them... step-by-step narrowing the detection range. In a very short ti, the Empire’s rulers could use this thod to analyze the entire world and identify "abnormal" locations. The term "abnormal" here encompassed nearly everything that could affect the domination of the Empire, including alien objects from other worlds, entrances to the Abyss, anomalies in laws, and even slight inconsistencies in the speed of light; all were within the detection range, and since this technology divided the entire world into a quadrant set at the beginning of the detection, it fundantally had no blind spots.
Soone was scanning the world for "alien objects."
Bubbles, originally an Xyrin Host under Sandora and a forr advanced unit in the Revenge Army, served as an informational core. She was well-versed in the various information tactics of the Revenge Army, so despite the layered encryption of this information eruption, she managed to decipher the information contained within the cosmic background radiation in a short ti, with surprising results:
"This is a coordinate system!"
Bubbles exclaid, "Soone is broadcasting the coordinates of the Mobra Star System! We’ve been locked on to!"
"No, it’s the Star Ring that’s been locked onto."
With that statent, Bubbles’s image was pushed to the side, and Sandora’s image appeared on the holographic projection, "Ah Jun, you are stationed on the Imperial Admiral, and I have already notified the outpost to quickly return to the Mobra Star System for defense. We cannot retreat. I suspect that the Revenge Army has remotely deployed gravity traps nearby. If their Commander is... never mind, I’ll be there soon."
The communication was cut off, and I turned my gaze to the holographic wall on the side, ignoring the various alarms that were now rising and falling on the bridge. A warship intelligence officer was loudly reporting large-scale gravitational collapses detected on the periphery of the star system. Indeed, even with the naked eye, one could now detect the abnormalities in space.
Light from distant stars was focusing, and the focal point of the light was unusually bright, while nearby starlight had stretched into long, thin filants. This was a phenonon of gravitational distortion occurring as a massive object passed through the spatial channel. After scanning, it was confird that these gravity concentrations appeared near the gravity boundary of the Mobra Star System: about one and a half light-years away, which sounds remote, but for Imperial warships, this distance is almost negligible.
Fortunately, I had previously stationed so forces in this star system to fend off sudden attacks. Apart from the Imperial Admiral, which served as the flagship, there were about a hundred Eternal-class Mother Ships now moored in the orbit of Mist God Star, accompanied by hundreds of Frontier-class combined defense warships. I refrained from deploying the limited number of the forr to the border, but instead, swiftly had the Frontier-class deploy gravity traps near their defensive line.
This was a choice made after brief consideration. I temporarily gave up retaking the gravity boundary and instead directly constructed defenses around the outermost planets of the star system. The enemy’s numbers and strength were unknown, and the star system’s edge had already been breached. Using limited military forces to traverse one and a half light-years to secure such a vast position seed a foolhardy act. The optimal choice now was to prevent the enemy from directly jumping from the gravity boundary to the orbit of Mist God Star via space jumps, and this command proved to be very tily and effective. Almost simultaneously with the activation of the gravity traps, the intelligence officer reported several second-stage space jump reactions near the gravity boundary, followed by large amounts of debris from Imperial warships torn apart by the spatial ripping effect crashing into the dense atmosphere of Mist God Star.
If we had been a few seconds later, these vanguard forces would have uncontrollably infiltrated the defenses of Mist God Star.
It was the enemy, no one would doubt that. In this universe, at this ti, appearing before us in this way, there was no second possibility other than the enemy.
Almost reflexively, I pulled out the deck of cards that Lin Xue had given from my chest. I didn’t know when I had started to rely heavily on the "Half-immortal Speech" that girl had incessantly whispered mysteriously into my ear. Even when she wasn’t by my side, I habitually wanted to see what guidance she might offer .
But I just glanced at it, and that montary contemplation imdiately evaporated.
The card depicted a small figure with tears streaming down its face, with a caption above its head: "This has gone too far..."
At such a critical mont, would it kill you to give a clear instruction!?
"Report the enemy numbers."
Visca commanded, and I could feel a bit of excitent in her voice: she was pleased.
"Eternal-class mother ships have reached one hundred, the counts of other types of heavy mother ships are unconfird, and a large number of mass collapse reactions are still occurring! Enemy reinforcents are increasing!"
"What about our gravity traps? And other devices that interfere with super space-ti transmission?" I quickly asked, feeling that sothing was off.
As an Imperial Soldier who had co through wars, no one would make this low-level mistake. During our stay in this star system, Sandora had ordered the installation of nurous invisible super space-ti interference devices around the periter of the system to prevent the enemy from jumping directly to a position too close to our fleet. Even the gravity boundary five light years away was within this defensive line. However, the current situation was that the enemy seed to have been unhindered, completely ignoring the nurous interference probes patrolling there and jumping directly to the edge of the star system!
The intelligence officer was also investigating the cause of this issue, and a tense flurry ensued in the command hall below as a voice loudly replied: "Gravity traps have been deployed, but they can’t affect the gravity boundary region. Super space-ti interference devices have gone offline for unknown reasons; we are trying to restart them now!"
Just then, a twisted light screen suddenly flashed beside us. Sandora had teleported to the bridge and asked urgently, "Ah Jun, what’s the situation? Why were they able to teleport so close?"
"The space transmission interferer went offline. Those devices were originally patrolling the gravity boundary of the constant star, but when the enemy appeared, they vanished without a trace, just like they disappeared. Now there are hundreds of heavy mother ships gathering one and a half light years away, and more enemies are reinforcing from that direction," I quickly pointed at a cluster of twinkling dots on the holographic projection, "This was where the jump interferers were supposed to be. Now it’s all enemies. However, the gravity traps are still functioning normally; the defenses of Mist God Star just intercepted the enemy’s super space-ti jump. Now the enemy must rely on ordinary superluminal jumps to cover this one and a half light year assault, we have at most..."
"One hour," Sandora looked at the rapidly flashing images on the holographic projection and ca to a conclusion faster than I did, "It’s my First Fleet, they have more powerful superluminal engines. In one hour, Mist God Star will fall within the shooting range of the First Fleet. We don’t have enough firepower."
"When can the reinforcents from the outpost be teleported here?"
Big Sister’s voice rang from behind . She had also teleported to the flagship, followed by a large group, including Pandora and others.
That was it—Imperial High Level gathered, including the Divine Clan’s Tiaozi Five, led by Bingdisi.
"I’ve always said establishing an outpost thirteen light years away was unreliable," Bingdisi swaggered over, "Look who’s the fool now?"
Bingdisi might have been on to sothing, stationing the main forces thirteen light-years away might not have been the most astute move, but there weren’t many other options. The prediction Lin Xue had given was exactly this, the degree of concealnt in this world would determine the severity of the crisis when the enemies appeared. Sandora and I could only find the most suitable place for concealnt to establish our base.
Although the space barrier is reliable in most situations, we couldn’t rely on it to quickly conceal the entire outpost and a bunch of constantly operating starports. Therefore, we had to rely on the interstellar nebula thirteen light-years away to enhance our invisibility.
The appearance of the enemy one and a half light-years away indeed caught everyone off guard, but I believe if I had not followed Lin Xue’s suggestion to establish a concealed base, the enemy wouldn’t have appeared one and a half light-years away—they might have been knocking on our door in the middle of the night to check the water ter.
Their targets are mostly the Imperial Army, who exhibit ghost energy reactions, as proven in several relic attacks. This should be one of the reasons Lin Xue reminded to stay concealed. Now, when we are transmitting the Star Ring Fragnts, the movent might be too noticeable. Even without ghost energy reactions, the massive disturbance generated by the super space-ti transmission of such large masses is tough to conceal, although we did manage to easily deceive the natives of Mobra.
The backup main forces have already departed. They are rushing here from thirteen light-years away, but the problem is that the enemy imdiately disrupted the entire star system after completing their transmission, affecting our reinforcents’ ability to enter the battlefield through super space-ti transmission. Consequently, ti might be insufficient.
If the reinforcents cannot arrive in ti, we might have to abandon this star system. Although the enemy’s numbers exceed ours, they have not reached the scale to form an encirclent. The Imperial Admiral, along with the accompanying Royal Fleet, are elite forces. It is still possible to break through the enemy lines, even if their numbers are two or three tis greater.
"Where are Asida and Asidora?"
I suddenly rembered the sisters who might have a solution and asked.
No sooner had I spoken than a distorted halo of light flashed by, and the twin sisters, looking identical and in garrison uniforms, stood valiantly before , corners of their mouths flecked with green leaves from instant noodles. Truly worthy of being twins, even the spots they got stained were the sa.
Although they could have accessed impressive military supplies free of charge, they had grown accustod to living off instant noodles while running a flower shop outside, making their presence here purely inspirational.
Then, I entrusted the inspirational sisters with a very honorable and not too arduous task for them:
"Figure out a way to break through the enemy’s blockade on our space transmission within an hour."
The twin sisters, sensing each other’s thoughts, exchanged looks and then nodded at reassuringly.
In many cases, super space-ti transmission, when disrupted by the enemy, could place an interstellar fleet in significant jeopardy, especially for an army like the Imperial Army which relies on super space-ti jump technology as a crucial tactic. However, where there’s a shield, there’s a spear; where there’s intimacy, there’s decay; where there’s Yao Ming, there’s Pandora; a transmission interference device can also be decoded. As commanders of the Super Space-Ti Force, Asida and Asidora possess imnse power in spatial control and various space tactical skills, with their twin sensing being the most effective thod in breaking through various spatial interferences.
The enemy’s interference targeted long-distance space transmission. Because the defense periter within the constant star system was still controlled by the Imperial Army, their interference signals could not affect close-range (compared to thirteen light-years) transmissions. One Asida sister hurried to the Mist God Star (apologies, I couldn’t tell whether it was the elder or the younger sister), while the other transported herself alone to the backside of the enemy’s jump coordinates.
Effectively, the sisters managed a front and rear attack on the enemy’s main forces—don’t think it’s funny for two people to strike a fleet; you should know that there’s a tactic in this world called "dishonorable tactics"...
