Chapter 617: Chapter 617: Resistance Army

After the enemy’s Command Ship was destroyed, their combat capability significantly decreased a notch, becoming rigid and inflexible, and the frequency of their attacks also slowed down. Although the ensuing battle was still very intense, the scales of victory, without surprise, tipped in our favor. Under the command of Sivis, the super Storm Commander, and other battle-hardened Imperial Officers, we gradually overca our nurical inferiority. The enemy’s rigid formations beca riddled with holes under the relentless assaults of our mobile units, and the well-coordinated Imperial Army pursued them until they fell into utter disarray.

With perfect command a small number of decisive elite forces a heap of buffs, victory against greater numbers just seed natural.

On the bridge of the Imperial Admiral, the high-level Imperial officials, who hadn’t even had the chance to rest, all gathered together to discuss the current situation.

The imnse pressure from before had finally eased a little, and the campaign, which was originally anticipated to be incredibly tough, ultimately developed in the direction we hoped for thanks to Sivis’s efforts, which greatly relieved everyone.

But Sivis herself was an exception—no matter what, even though we had completed the mission and were returning smoothly, the fact that we almost encountered a huge mishap was still true. If it weren’t for Qianqian’s sudden surge of power, even with my Void Domain to resolve the crisis, everyone present might have returned wounded. This put enormous pressure on Sivis, who was the frontline Commander, and it reinforced a belief in her: Surprise attacks and tricks are all unorthodox tactics, and it’s even more improper for the supre Leader to personally undertake surprise assaults. No matter what, she couldn’t let this bunch of family mbers, who beco reckless once excited, go to the frontline again.

This also served as a warning to us that targeting the enemy’s Command Ships for a surprise attack was not a wise decision. Not only were they formidable in defense, but they were also heavily protected by a massive squad of Escorts, using even dozens of Eternal-class Mother Ships as Escort Ships. It was fortunate that a Leader-level Apostle personally took the field. If we had sent an ordinary assault team—chances are, not only would they have been unable to harm those Command Ships, but they would have also alerted the enemy.

This ti, we had no choice but to resort to a surprise attack to try to weaken the enemy’s combat strength as much as possible. If similar situations arise in the future… let soone else handle it.

“With this, the enemies in the East Sky Region are basically eradicated. After such a long confrontation, I believe they no longer have hidden forces here, and a large part of the enemies inside the Big Nebula may have also been depleted by us. We should now turn our attention westward,” I knocked on the table to attract everyone’s attention, then directed my gaze at Qianqian, “Before that, let my precious daughter share her big discovery—stop laughing, I can see your molar.”

“Hmph,” Qianqian glared at and then instantly forgot about that little dissatisfaction, “Of course, it’s a big discovery. I am a genius girl, you know—Ah Jun, do you rember our Ghost Energy Death Star that we lost contact with?”

“Nonsense, of course I rember,” I suddenly felt a pang as if it were a waste of electricity, “That’s a lot of energy costs.”

“It hasn’t been lost,” Qianqian said lightly, “Falling into the Void, leaving this world, all of that is incorrect. The Ghost Energy Death Star is still in its original place. It hasn’t moved at all from the beginning. Just a few minutes ago, I had just confird this speculation.”

“What?!” I let out an incredulous yell, drawing a karate chop from Big Sister, “Ah Jun, what the hell are you screeching about!”

“That’s right, it’s there, you just can’t see it.” Qianqian looked at cheerfully, her face full of perplexity. She knew her boyfriend’s character well and understood what he was puzzled about at the mont: It wasn’t about doubting her incredible claim, because no matter what she said, I wouldn’t question it—at most, I’d pretend I hadn’t heard it. What I was really wrestling with was, if the Ghost Energy Death Star was still right there, then all our desperate efforts up until now to find clues in the Void Domain… that was such a shaful waste!

As everyone knows, just like Qianqian, I’m also soone who is very good at getting by in life.

As for whether Qianqian is talking nonsense, there’s no need to question it; although she’s unreliable most of the ti, I couldn’t be clearer about when she’s serious and dependable. Right now, what she’s saying is definitely credible.

“Alright, Ah Jun, stop obsessing,” Big Sister said, watching her brother, who was extrely distressed about the recent waste, with a mix of laughter and tears, “Qianqian, you know that Ah Jun will believe any far-fetched idea you co up with, so stop beating around the bush—where is it right now?”

Qianqian raised a finger and waved it in front of us: “It is six seconds in the past.”

“Having to explain again, what a hassle…”

Seeing the circle of expectedly puzzled looks around her, Qianqian imdiately laid her head down on the table, holding her head. She was least good at things that required intelligence, but she couldn’t just get away with saying “This is specialized knowledge, you don’t need to know,” so after organizing her thoughts for a while, our Ti Queen began a prir class on “Ti History” for a group of normal people.

“Let first explain the problem of ti displacent in a way that’s easier for everyone to understand—Ah Jun, can you see from one second ago?”

“One second ago?” I was puzzled, not understanding what she ant, “Haven’t I been looking at you the whole ti?”

“Wrong, Ah Jun, you can never see anything from one second ago,” Qianqian shook her head vigorously, denying my presumptuous answer, “Even sothing from a millisecond ago is not sothing you can see directly, just as you can’t see sothing from a millisecond in the future. This is one of the absolutes of the trajectory of ti: observers can only ever see things that are concurrent with their own ti. Within the entire world system, every individual is part of the sa history.

This should be one of the foundational laws the world is built upon. It determines the entangled relationships between everything in the world. Under the constraint of this law, the prerequisite for one object to have an effect on another is that both are on the sa tiline. For example, what human eyes see must be sothing that’s happening ‘now’ in relation to them. Information before this mont is called mory, and information after this point is called extrapolation, neither of which can be directly observed. Humans can’t escape this iron rule any more than soone can lift themselves off the ground by pulling on their own hair.”

“Wait a minute, what if I use your power to go back to the past, say, to kill Er Pang ten years ago, wouldn’t that be entering another tiline?” I imdiately found a potential point of contradiction.

“Ah Jun, you still don’t get it. That’s completely different. Using my power to go back is essentially moving backward along a normal tiline, like a little bug that can crawl forward on a track, so it can crawl backward, too. But the track itself doesn’t change, and neither does the history it records. Ti displacent is different; you’re not moving backward along the tiline, but instead, you have a personal track that’s a different length from, and perhaps even going in a different direction than, the normal tiline. Confused yet?”

I was truly confused.

Like anything that involves ti, this is a very troubling theory. The absolute nature of the passage of ti ans that humans can only ever see “now” and live in “now”. Any “past” you see is just the “mory” presented by the “now”, just as you can only rember being bitten by Dahuang at your doorstep two years ago, and you can’t go through another showdown with the dog—because two years ago today, it was you who personally stewed Dahuang.

I spent quite an effort tidying up all these ssy things, but what brought so balance to the situation was that Lilina, who always prided herself on being a genius, was even slower to react than I was.

“This thing is even more annoying than the expressions of laws…”

Lady Priestess lay prostrate on the table without any grace, lanting ceaselessly.

I almost reflexively gave her a sideways glance, “You… annoyed by that?”

Lilina exploded on the spot, “I should be allowed to say my boobs itch, right… Hey! What’s with that look! It took three or four decades to cultivate such a rare resource, and you think it’s easy!”

Suddenly, I felt that my daily conversations with this Lilina were ridiculously formidable, while the general sisters next to , who hadn’t developed after using millions of years, looked down and compared their sizes, then collectively sighed, preparing to beat up Lilina when they were free.

“Hey! Listen to !” Qianqian angrily slapped the table like a child throwing a tantrum, “Where were we… Ah, the absoluteness of ti, this kind of absoluteness is one of the cornerstones that allows the universe to operate orderly—there must be other cornerstones in Creation Science; if Dingdang’s grades were a bit better, maybe she could explain it in more detail. In any case, every existing thing in the universe, including molecules, atoms, and everything derived from them, can coordinate with each other to form the world, thanks to this kind of absoluteness. And then, here arises a very interesting paradox: what if sothing’s ti is out of sync with the entire world’s ti?”

Everyone imdiately beca serious, indicating they were ready to listen attentively: Stop beating around the bush; it’s already not simple that we have been able to understand up to now.

“Relative to the history system of this world, such a thing has disappeared,” Qianqian spread her hands and gave the ultimate yet simplest answer, “Taking our Ghost Energy Death Star as an example: It stayed six seconds in the past, and this six-second difference ans you’ll never be able to see it, nor can anything in the normal tiline react with it, like our radar.”

Silence, the surrounding area fell into silence, everyone slowly digesting this paradox that seed like utter nonsense, while rcury Lamp—who always sat on my shoulder silently like a decoration—also took an interest, her usually cold little face now slightly reddened as she raised her little hand, “Sister Qianqian, in that case, won’t we be able to see it after six seconds?”

“You know, there’s a story called ‘Free als Tomorrow’,” explained Big Sister, who understood Qianqian’s theory even faster than the rest of us, “There’s a lodge with a sign at the door that reads ‘Eating is free tomorrow.’ A passerby saw it, thought it was a good deal, and stayed there. The next day, when he was ready to have the free breakfast, the innkeeper still asked him to pay because the sign said the al would be free ‘tomorrow,’ and now, it’s ‘today.’ The passerby waited until the third day, but still had to pay for his al because—people are always living in today. I guess the second difference paradox Qianqian ntioned is the reverse version of this story, right?”

Qianqian nodded vigorously, “Exactly, in the phenonon of second discrepancy, an individual has gone off the historical track of the whole world due to an accident. It exists before a certain period of the entire tiline. For example, you want to et soone who lives in yesterday. On the first day, you naturally don’t know him, because on day zero, which is yesterday, the person hadn’t appeared before you. On the next day, you still can’t recognize him, because you didn’t know this person on the first day. On the third day, it’s still impossible for you to be acquainted with him, because on the second day, you didn’t know him. On the fourth day, the fifth day… it extends indefinitely, never-ending. This person living in yesterday can never be encountered by us living in today, and even perceiving his existence is impossible. I call this person an absolute loner because from the onset, he was destined not to be perceived by anyone.”

“The second difference paradox, that’s what it is. Our Ghost Energy Death Star has disappeared six seconds before the current historical mont, so all entities in this world that want to interact with it must be based on having interacted with it six seconds in the past: This is impossible, you cannot know soone who hasn’t been born yet, just like you cannot have co into contact with sothing six seconds before you intersect with it.”

“So at the mont when the Eternal-class main cannon fired its concentrated shots…”

Big Sister looked at Qianqian, and her eyes were full of understanding.

“There are always exceptions, and the absoluteness of ti can still be broken,” Qianqian began to laugh triumphantly, a silly smile spreading across her face. “If I could accurately change an individual’s passage of ti from the very start, then the gap in seconds would be controllable for . Well, of course, this is difficult. In fact, at the mont we were attacked, I only managed to create a gap of a few dozen milliseconds at most with all my effort. But for a paradox established on the Law Level, as long as its conditions are t, it makes no difference whether the ti disparity is a split second or a billion years. It’s the most powerful invincible ability. Forget the Holy Shield Technique, even Anti-Phasing can’t compare, because the ti gap can even ignore Law Attacks. Its only shortcoming is that it lasts for a very short ti… uh, at most a few minutes. The reason why a paradox is a paradox is that they’re all hypothetical, unable to arise in the real world. It’s extrely difficult to construct an imaginary paradox with one’s spiritual power without destroying the integrity of the world.”

“Darling… this really is… the most powerful invincible ability.”

Watching Qianqian’s triumphant yet naively innocent smile, I was sincerely impressed for the first ti.

Lilina, conveniently, muttered, “The best move for taking a beating ever…”

You see, many people’s misfortunes are self-inflicted. You’re not eating dinner tonight!

It took us a very long ti to explain and understand, but we eventually grasped Qianqian’s theory. After Dingdang rummaged through her mountainous pile of textbooks for a long while, it was finally confird that, based on the basic laws of a typical world, the theory of “living before the current ti” was valid. We had Sivis tidy up the theory and send it off to Taville, and the Lady with Glasses actually jumped up with joy. She imdiately requested the most stable upper communication channel to record these findings in our Empire’s rebuilt database. Although I found it ridiculous that such a mature woman was jumping around over a theory, I could understand her excitent: this could be considered the first newfound knowledge encountered in the process of the Empire’s revival, which was of trendous significance to a researcher and undoubtedly different from her usual work of repairing ancient databases.

In fact, Taville had already scheduled her research on “a defensive system based on the theory of temporal displacent” into her work agenda, and although she knew that once this historic equipnt was developed, it could even make the Anti-Phasing defense system obsolete, but…

Taville! I need you to focus on getting our Ghost Energy Death Star back now, not dive into your lab to start on a new project!

According to Qianqian’s deduction, the Ghost Energy Death Star probably fell out of the tiline due to a sudden energy collapse within itself, resulting in the shortening of its history by six seconds, thus creating a continuous ti gap with the world. However, the Death Star managed to reestablish contact with the outside world after those six seconds of core absence, indicating that the ti gap was unstable. The Death Star itself might jump back into the tiline at any mont, returning to the normal world. Now that Qianqian had mastered the technique for controlling ti gaps, Taville’s task was to quickly transform this superpower-based amazing paradox into sothing that can be simulated with machinery, and then to pull our Death Star out of the erroneous history. It sounded difficult, but not for the super-genius glasses-wearing lady who had already figured out how to create an “Energy Raider” based on my abilities.

anwhile, as we were in the throes of planning our ti axis reversal, another significant event was unfolding among the common races of this universe.

In the Western Sky Zone, the Gotaque Free Kingdom; in the Southern Sky Zone, the Kemitre Empire; in the Northern Sky Region, the Holy Kingdom; and in the Eastern Sky Region, the Roland Gale Consortium—all the faction leaders announced simultaneously the formation of the World Resistance Front. The previously scattered and independently fighting races were now coming together, forming a coordinated combat Commonwealth to fight against the brutal Imperial Rebel Army. The Resistance Army was led by the strongest forces from their respective Sky Zones, with Queen Fina of the Free Kingdom as the Supre Commander for being the first to raise the standard. The Roland Gale Consortium, due to the complete annihilation of the Eastern Sky Zone’s rebels, beca the only force in the Resistance Army that did not need to hold its ground and had the capacity to take the offensive. Given their longest-standing opposition to the forr “Shepherd” in ti, they beca the strongest main force of the entire Resistance Army.

Thus, a thunderous beat of war drums echoed throughout the universe. (To Be Continued. If you like this work, you are welco to cast your recomndation and monthly votes on qidian. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
