Chapter 601: 601

The sweet and cute little girl sat amidst her pile of toys, clutching two small airplane models in her hands; she mid air combat actions in the air, even making “whoosh whoosh” engine noises with her mouth—a scene filled with childlike innocence and harmony.

Of course, this could only be true if the person in question could shrink a hundredfold in size, and those two airplanes weren’t real…

Next to the gigantized rcury Lamp were her beloved “toys”, including three disard Xyrin Single Soldier Fighters and several redesigned models of Banshee Bombers and Viking Fighters, as well as a few Siege Tanks—all real deal, which, if replenished with energy and ammunition, could blast people into oblivion on the battlefield. Now, however, they were treated as toys, strewn all over the place. rcury Lamp and I dared not approach each other; even if rcury Lamp perched on my shoulder, standing next to that super-gigantic “girl” we’d rely look like little beans, and one false move could potentially lead to us being crushed—this was the perspective that Dingdang usually looked up at us and now I truly understood it.

“Taville! Co out now!”

Once again, I strained my vocal cords calling for the person in charge. This test site was where Taville and her technicians analyzed rebel technology to refine Federation units. Normally, no one could touch anything here without that bespectacled lady’s cheeks flushing red, so I confidently placed the dangerously powerful Titan rcury Lamp here, but… where had that person run off to now?!

“My lord, are you calling for ?”

After shouting twice, Taville’s mass projection finally appeared in the air, her arms clutching an information screen—she seed to have rushed over while busy analyzing data.

I finally realized: entrusting a child to a research fanatic who could ignore even the world’s doomsday once her work started was unreliable from the start.

“Didn’t I ask you to watch her?” I exclaid in exasperation, pointing to a “little child” a few dozen ters away who was smashing two Siege Tanks together, filling the entire Gnaku with the sound of clanging steel and mild tremors, “And those things—how can you let a child play with them so carelessly?”

“But this is the only way to keep her calm…” Taville’s face also showed frustration. It seed I had wronged her—no telling how long the ga-sized rcury Lamp had been tornting that poor woman. “She was constantly talking with the ‘little people’ on the floor or walking around the Gnaku, simply unable to stay put. We exerted trendous effort finding sothing that could montarily capture the child’s attention. Now, if we just set up an audio barrier around her, at least our research can continue. As for those things being useless now, let her play with them…”

To all the Imperial scientists struggling to appease a child, you’ve had it rough.

“rcury Lamp, exactly who is controlling that super-gigantic doll?” I shrugged my shoulders and pointed far ahead to the “little girl” who had started rolling a Protos probe across the floor like a marble. As the “Cute Army Commander” of the rcury Lamp Corps, this authentic doll girl on my shoulder had the privilege to check on the puppeteers behind every replacent doll. She took several seconds to connect to her private database, which she was not accustod to using. After tapping her legs on my arm with a few crackling sounds, she replied, “Until yesterday, it had been the Last Order, but now, it’s your darling daughter.”

Even though she didn’t specify which daughter, I was instantly moved to tears—Little Baobao, it’s only been a few days, and you’ve already grown so much?

No wonder even Taville hesitated to confront that “little girl”—turns out it was the Little Princess inside playing. Though Taville hadn’t yet discovered the controller, her racial talent left her completely powerless against her.

“Hey, your daughter’s over there, she’s definitely here to find you. Aren’t you going to et her?” Seeing frozen in place, rcury Lamp couldn’t help but slap my head, “Be a qualified father, Lord, otherwise I’ve totally misjudged you…”

Although it felt sowhat bizarre to et Little Baobao in such a state, it was rare for the little lady to ingeniously devise this thod to find her dad… Well, it seems she had completely forgotten about it now… ahem, best go say hello anyway.

Letting Taville go back to her tasks, I carried rcury Lamp over to the super-gigantic doll girl, quickly yelling out just before a falling Siege Tank from the girl’s hands could hit : “Little Baobao!!”

The hundred-ter-tall giant girl paused for a mont, seemingly recognizing the familiar voice below, then bent down to look at the two of us.

Under Little Baobao’s control, the giant rcury Lamp displayed a confused expression on its face, unconsciously biting her finger as she couldn’t understand why her dad had suddenly turned into a Little One. However, she quickly dismissed the issue and, with a cheer, pounced down.

The scene was just like a mountain collapsing, the sweeping face almost smashing down. rcury Lamp scread in fright and “whoosh,” disappeared without a trace, not showing any loyalty. But fortunately, the giant doll, known as Little Baobao or rcury Lamp, just bent down. After she recognized , she began to awkwardly move her body, slowly lying down on the ground.

Throughout the process, I was shaken and lifted off the ground four tis, causing the surroundings to clatter with fallen objects.

“Daddy… Daddy!!” Little Baobao’s only two words echoed through the Gnaku. I teetered in the Level 12 typhoon, and the rcury Lamp that had just landed on my shoulder was blown away, leaving only a ss — serves her right for not showing any loyalty just now!

“Hehe… Ya, umm, daddy…” Seeing “mini dad” for the first ti, the rcury Lamp version of Little Baobao got excitedly chatty. Her usually high and cold face suddenly beca adorably deadly, just as huge as the current Level 12 typhoon beside . It’s a good thing that I had so training; otherwise, talking to my daughter would an running back from half a kiloter away each ti — who could endure that?

“Okay, okay, good Little Baobao,” I said with a mix of laughter and tears, holding the… finger of my giantized daughter. Clearly, she hoped I could take her out to play like usual, but… but my silly daughter, you’ve grown up…

rcury Lamp had been missing since the chaos unfolded, perhaps hiding in a corner, laughing secretly at this peculiar father-daughter reunion. But then again, Little Baobao now bore her own face. Strictly speaking, she was also involved — wait, I think I just realized sothing.

Watching the giant “daughter” in front of , whose entire body was stretched out on the ground, making an effort to move her face closer to rub against dad like usual, Sister Misaka’s words began to clarify: Artificial souls of replacent dolls extend from rcury Lamp’s soul. Each mass-produced rcury Lamp is connected with half their spirit energy to their mother. In other words, the controller might be using the Spiritual Hub like Sister Misaka or the cute little mainfra, but the one empathizing is so mouthy, tsundere doll.

“Sweetie, let daddy hug you… Alright, just a rub then…”

At this mont, I’m probably not the only one resenting this hundred-ter-tall body. There must be a certain doll girl too.

But no worries. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Being a dad, my aura isn’t for show; I radiate with fatherly love, full of confidence about making my daughter happy.

It’s just playing with my daughter, right? Could she possibly eat ?

For the next nearly an hour, for various reasons, I think it’s better left unsaid — honestly, playing gas with a daughter who stands a hundred and one ters tall is indeed pressuring. But then, that’s what being a dad is all about, shining in any situation. Besides, Little Baobao is only two and a half years old in her mind, so even if I ended up being cuddled in her palm and almost got eaten at the end, I accepted it.

“You seem to be quite enjoying yourself,” I finally cald Little Baobao down and got her to stay put in the Gnaku waiting for Last Order to switch control. On my way back to the Upper Zone, rcury Lamp suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence. “A mighty Imperial Leader playing such childish gas, if soone saw this, it would be the headline across all worlds.”

“But she is my daughter, that’s all the reason I need,” I said with a gentle smile, whispering, “As a dad, making my daughter happy is my duty.”

rcury Lamp listened to in a daze, absent-mindedly kicked her feet a couple of tis, then bent down and hugged my head, whispering, “Well, barely passable…”

“Nonsense, I’m the number one dad in the multi-universe… cough cough, I just got an idea. Now that Little Baobao still controls that giant replacent doll, shouldn’t we do sothing?”

“What do you an?” rcury Lamp didn’t understand, but it was evident she was in a good mood, rarely feeling the urge to join in mischief.

“Let’s lure Lady Shining down here? It seems that person sneaked over here under Little Baobao’s surveillance…”

“…Good idea, I’m starting to appreciate you.”

It was just a pre-al stroll anyway, I was idle, and having been tossed around rcilessly by the gigantic Little Baobao for almost an hour, I was desperate for another unlucky soul to share my burden. We acted promptly, and within minutes, we found Lady Shining in the restaurant competing in a drinking ga with a bunch of Heroic Spirits. It didn’t take much effort to coax her down. The ancient queen with an IQ of “9” didn’t even think before she believed my story about “an unknown alien treasure in the lower Gnaku, possibly a Otherworld treasure collected by the Rebel Army. Why don’t you go and identify it?” Thrilled, she kicked up a dust cloud and headed southwest—honestly, watching Lady Shining’s cheerfully naive figure, both rcury Lamp and I almost felt that one percent of guilt.

The life of an Imperial Leader is full of pleasures…

After tricking Golden Shining into a perilous situation, the unscrupulous combo of Leader Doll casually strolled toward the officers’ rest area. It was about ti for dinner, but the mont we reached the corridor, we encountered a group of three-feet-tall beings.

“Honestly, rcury Lamp, I think you’ve already conquered the world.”

I shrugged helplessly, indicating that seeing all versions of rcury Lamp every day was simply too much pressure.

Accompanying the short beings were two standout little girls, Pandora and Visca, who had picked up a new hobby in the past few days—walking where groups of Q rcury Lamps gathered. To put it simply, standing at 1.2 ters among a group of 60 cm beings, the sheer height advantage doubled, always let the sisters walk tall and proud.

Two Shorties approached amidst a cluster of even shorter ones, looking from a distance like leaders of a Scout troop—I was too embarrassed to look—thank goodness we had isolated the Titan rcury Lamp.

“Wow, Brother seems to look at us with such sympathy.”

Visca suddenly whispered into her sister’s ear, not quietly at all.

Pandora looked around at the three-feet-tall beings used to highlight her height, and suddenly felt defeated…

“Ahem, what are you two doing? It’s almost ti for dinner.”

I interrupted the two Shorties’ self-pity, while several of the short beings, seizing the opportunity, began to chirp and climb up my body as if mountaineering—however, under Pandora’s cold snort, the rcury Lamps imdiately scattered in screams.

“We’ve detected a gravitational collapse at the edge of the Constant Star System, Gusta is coming.”

After shooing away the scrambling rcury Lamps (…Sister Misakas are really too playful), Pandora reported the situation to in her flat, concise voice. I was imdiately furious: “They’ve had several days to co, not early, not late, they choose our dinner ti to show up?!”

Pandora & Visca: “…”

rcury Lamp: “I feel so embarrassed…”

“Alright, Sakura to the posts, prepare the Soul Taker Beacon,” I resignedly accepted the fact that dinner would be delayed again and briefly bid farewell to the regular routine I had barely maintained these past few days, “Let’s head to the Command Hall, rcury Lamp, go to the kitchen and grab eight pounds of buns.”

“Eight pounds?!” the doll exclaid as it fell down.

“Nonsense, my sister and Qianqian haven’t eaten yet. Pandora Visca, what filling do you want?”

rcury Lamp finally couldn’t hold back her tears, “The Commander of Gusta is definitely going to cry, he’s absolutely going to cry!”

When a few of us casually strolled into the Command Hall, it had already entered a state of battle readiness, with all levels of commanders and operators at their posts, ready for action—an intense and solemn scene. However, in stark contrast, those who should have been the Supre Commanders were all waiting for buns with bored expressions on their faces.

It wasn’t that we underestimated the enemy, but compared to the Rebel Army we were currently dealing with, Gusta’s fleet just wasn’t impressive. Moreover, in a way, when they decided to break through the Gotaque airspace via the Crystal Peak route, these invaders were already dood.

Minutes later, the ship’s mainfra reported in the Command Hall, “Crystal Peak star energy charging is complete, ground troops have entered energy shield works, Soul Stealer Beacon’s main module and additional modules are online, Sandora is connected, signal ready to launch anyti.”

“Computer, where is Gusta’s fleet now?” Reynolds asked, biting into a large pancake, under Zeratul’s enigmatic gaze.

“Sustained gravitational collapses have been detected within the Constant Star System. The enemy will arrive in ten minutes.”

To prevent a Super Space-Ti Strike, there were gravity traps surrounding the Crystal Peak Planet. Therefore, Gusta’s forces could only jump to the edge of the Constant Star System and then advance from there, giving us enough ti to activate the beacon. The energy overload issue of the beacon could not yet be completely solved; it couldn’t run for more than four hours. So, we had to start the beacon only after the enemies appeared.

The enemy had already made one failed attack. Gusta’s leader wasn’t a fool; he surely wouldn’t truly believe that Crystal Peak had little defensive strength left. It was just that this huge tempting prize was too much to resist, knowing full well that there was a catch but unable to prevent taking the bait. This wave of troops’ main purpose was reconnaissance; the numbers should not be too high, so whether we could handle everything within four hours depended on Sandora’s power.

“The enemy ships have arrived.”

Following the synthetic voice of the main control computer, countless flashing red spots appeared on the edges of the Constant Star System holographic projection.

“All are assault ships and escort ships,” Reynolds said after just one glance at the fleet’s composition, “and the number is very small. It seems to be just a scout unit. Have the intercepting fleets prepare for a show.”

The ssage we had put out was that intense warfare between the Gotaque and Caputlan Free Light Cavalry, coupled with severe damage to the major fleets of the Free Kingdom, had left no choice but to send a large portion of the Federation Fleet to the warfront, thereby significantly weakening the defensive powers at Crystal Peak. If there were indeed no ships here at all, the trap would be too obvious. Therefore, not only had we redeployed a large number of railguns in synchronous orbit around Crystal Peak, but we also invited a group of older ships from General Jie En to play the role of the beleaguered defense force of the Free Kingdom. Each beacon’s activation ti was limited, so we had to capture more enemies in one go.

Now, it looked like the plan had succeeded.

Imdiately upon entering the Constant Star System, Gusta’s reconnaissance forces encountered radar lock-on from the so-called “defense forces” of Crystal Peak. They found that the defensive power here was indeed greatly reduced, and that mysterious powerful Federation Fleet had been replaced by ordinary warships of the Free Kingdom. These fast Gusta ships cruised quickly along the edge of the Constant Star System, continuously evading distant radar lock-on and deploying nurous gravity beacons that assist in the precise jumping of large warships. Although General Jie En’s old ships, helping out of friendship, weren’t very clear about our overall plans, they had already received the highest order from Queen Fina herself to “fully cooperate with the Federation Army’s operations.” Following our directions, they symbolically destroyed a few beacons with area-effect weapons from a distance and then adopted a defensive posture.

“A large-scale gravitational collapse detected, the main enemy fleet has arrived!”

The ship-borne mainfra sounded an alarm again, and a host of red spots burst out all at once on the radar screen before us.

“Carriers, carriers, carriers, and more carriers, Gusta is set on sweeping through Crystal Peak with their superior ships, they must be prepared to completely annihilate this planet,” I snatched the last leek and pork bun from Qianqian’s hands, stuffed it into my mouth, and then muffled, “Activate the beacon!” (To be continued.
