Capítulo 1571: Chapter 1571: The Legend of the Heavenly God’s Forge

The “Leader” is a mature and beautiful woman. I was quite surprised when I saw her through the Spiritual Realm before, but this kind of slightly “biased” surprise imdiately prompted Sandora the Queen to mock comprehensively. Her basic idea was like: what’s wrong with won, why can’t won lead, why can’t won be leaders, and so on – of course, Sandora knew I didn’t an much, she was just bored.

The ntal panic caused by the “Horror Disaster” nearly destroyed the minds of everyone in the underground base. If it weren’t for Sandora’s tily restraint, there might not be a single living person left here. And even if Sandora didn’t go all the way, when the “Leader” regained consciousness, she was groggy and almost didn’t know where she was; anything around her made her inexplicably scared. But this also provided us with great convenience: the opponent’s ntal defenses had been shattered by fear, now even a child could get her to confess everything through interrogation.

Sandora was in charge of the questioning. She could more precisely control the residual fear in the opponent’s heart and could extract more information, while I took the opportunity to roam around the underground palace: this place seed sowhat interesting.

The underground palace was filled with chaotic technological products; it was electrically lit, equipped with simple closed-circuit surveillance, and communication equipnt. Clearly, this did not comply with the technological containnt rules of the Lost God Sect, and I don’t know how they managed to get these things under the control of the Lost God Sect, whose technological suppression didn’t seem as strong as imagined. It’s known that many technological products are not usable just because you dig them out from the relics. If you want to deploy technological products over such a large base, you need to know how to keep them running, understand how to repair, be able to manufacture at least replacent parts, and know most of the equipnt’s principles and be able to modify them with available materials (because most relics excavated are actually not usable), and you need to have a matching production line to manufacture basic parts – this production line must exist sowhere, of course.

It seems the Lost God Sect doesn’t completely control this world… Perhaps the best they can do is to try to delay the technological revival of this world. Once civilization exists, it is not so easy to completely “freeze” it in a certain state, even if the Lost God Sect was initially founded by a group of Tree Elves with a lifespan of tens of thousands of years, it may not completely control the technological revival of short-lived species.

In so small rooms of the underground palace, I found many “gadgets” that seed to be antiques excavated from underground: fragnts of equipnt, alloy blocks of unknown purpose, distorted chanical parts, these gadgets were categorized and placed on various shelves, with so fragnts placed on clean workbenches, apparently being processed and researched. This reminded of Celine’s workbench in the church, what this mysterious organization is doing is clearly similar to so practices of the Lost God Sect: collecting ancient relics and then researching them.

The difference is that they seem intent on reproducing these technologies and establishing a new “order” with them.

In a brightly lit small room, I discovered many neatly arranged scrolls. Next to this small room was a tidy room with a strong feminine aura, so I guessed this was the “Leader’s” study. The most noticeable point of these scrolls is that half of them are of high-quality precision prints!

They are mostly technical books: electrical physics, chemistry, natural textbooks, and of course mystical side “textbooks” such as alchemy and magic theory. These books are carefully annotated and marked, with many study cards sandwiched between pages, the graceful handwriting undoubtedly from the “Leader”. Moreover, I found several thick notebooks on the desk at the corner of the wall, not only with carefully recorded learning experiences but also the notebook owner’s own attempts at designing small machinery, even… a model of a radio device. Although simple, it was evidently designed independently by the notebook owner based on their acquired knowledge.

“A curious and inquisitive head of a horror organization…” I muttered to myself with a peculiar expression as I stared at these books and notebooks, “This learning spirit… if born in a normal world, might have pursued a master’s and a doctoral degree continuously.”

The trace of study in this room weighed heavily on as I looked at it, and by the end, I couldn’t help but think of my guilty high school years: if back then, I had one-third of that elder sister’s effort, perhaps… Oh, it might have been useless, too, I hadn’t gotten the chance to show my prowess in the battlefield of the college entrance exam before I was distraught by the Empire’s sudden appearance.

Among these notebooks, I did find so intelligence related to the “organization”, basically so communication records and diary-like things, and I don’t know why every leader of a secret organization has the habit of keeping such damning things handy, as if they fear soone wouldn’t find evidence after an incident, maybe the dignified leader didn’t have ti to destroy these things? Anyway, based on these items, I fully confird the nature of the “organization”, exactly as I imagined: Technology Revival Faction.

They mostly hid in the remote and unpopulated wilderness while a few were hiding as secret societies under the nose of the Lost God Sect (the communications log found letters from so “Parish Sentinels”), they excavate knowledge, desperately learn the ancients’ things, and attempt to rebuild civilization; they are researchers, warriors, archaeologists, tomb raiders, and “social progressives”, and sotis to et their needs, they also act as terrorists. Their scale is unknown, but it is estimated to be not small, and they despise the Lost God Sect, referring to them as “heretics” and “dead fools” – evidently, these Technological Revival Faction firmly believes they are the side of truth and progress.

If their practices could be a bit gentler, it would be better.

Yes, the practices of these Technological Revival Faction are not very likable; as Sandora once said, the nonconformist minorities always can justify themselves by claiming they are excluded for holding truth, and thus can justifiably and truthfully oppress the majority, and the unreasonable reality of this world is that minorities can truly impose such violence on the majority: the Technological Revival Organization self-proclaid as “Enlightened” use various thods to attack the Lost God Sect, each attack inevitably causes collateral damage to civilians, though it seems their leader is trying to restrain such behavior (it can be seen from so notes and orders), that rationality a leader of a major organization must-have, this bit of reason does not prevent the lower-level officers from causing turmoil outside.

Just like that black-clothed man did: making the giant beacon antenna lose control and exposing innocent villages to deadly high-power microwaves, just to trap the adventurers in the protection shield of the town (although Celine’s daring and experienced approach thwarted his plan), the opponent surely believes he’s doing it for “the justice of knowledge”, even if you hang this kind of madman on a ceiling fan, with charcoal underneath, running at high speed for a day, he would still firmly believe he’s doing it for justice.

The scale of this underground palace is not large, though there is a deep corridor underground, it has almost no forks, I soon found a place resembling a warehouse after leaving the Leader’s study, where I discovered more larger ancient equipnt and obviously newly manufactured chanical devices, confirming a hypothesis: the Technological Revival Faction can research deeply into so ancient technology and have production lines.

These chanical devices should not have been manufactured by this small base; they require larger machine tools and tal slting devices to produce, but I’m not very interested in focusing on the scale of this organization anymore, this planet is wasting limited resources and population on aningless matters, and they still involved with the “historical legacy problems” of the Old Empire, Sandora and I should quickly solve these troubles. Of course, we must first understand the real reason for the Lost God Sect’s technology suppression, and think of ways to contact the Imperial District.

Just as I was about to leave the warehouse to find Sandora to converge, a tal plaque on the warehouse wall suddenly attracted my attention.

The tal plaque looked aged, but judging from its forging technique and refinent, it was clearly not an ancient relic, it should be a “modern antique” from decades or hundreds of years ago, and I don’t know why such a tal plaque is placed in this warehouse full of ancient equipnt, perhaps it’s so kind of decoration or has so other significance? In any case, it bore an inexplicable few lines:

“Silence, silence, make no sound, let civilization fall into silence, let technology enter a harsh winter.

No one can hear where we are, from now on the cage shall transform into a barrier.

The Heavenly God’s Forge burns fiercely, its flas grant all things grace, the light of the Heavenly God’s Forge is undying, the Sanctuary shall safeguard peace.

Awaiting the Heavenly God’s Forge to ignite again, the cage and barrier collapse together, the harsh winter shall finally end, civilization sets foot on a journey again.

However, before that – silence, silence, make no sound!”

Sandora’s voice suddenly ca from outside: “Ah Jun! Ah Jun, are you in there?”

Before I could speak, a golden light ball floated in, followed by a few figures who looked unsteady and dazed: Sandora had used mind control to bring the “Leader” and a few organization mbers in.

“I just found sothing,” I raised my hand to point at the tal plate on the wall, “Take a look at this, I think it’s talking about the Lost God Sect’s technology lockdown, and it seems to ntion the reason.”

“Do not make any noise?” Sandora circled around the tal plate, “Are they really being hunted by sothing?”

“These words vaguely suggest that the purpose of ‘Technology Lockdown’ is to hide themselves, but what exactly does technology developnt expose?” I muttered while putting the tal plate into my personal space, “Or… why would developing technology lead to discovery? Is there soone who tracks other civilizations by detecting ‘technology value’?”

“Maybe there is, but I’m more interested in the Heavenly God’s Forge ntioned in it,” Sandora ball seed to be pondering, “Is this a worship symbol the Lost God Sect imagined out of thin air or sothing that actually exists? Hey, do any of you know what the Heavenly God’s Forge is?”

The latter part of Sandora’s sentence was directed at the captives behind her. In a state of ntal collapse and brainwashing, the leader muddledly spoke up: “The Heavenly God’s Forge… everyone knows it; it’s an ancient giant furnace built by the Supre Heavenly God, older than the God of Technology and the God of Magic. It forged the initial technological and magical creations for this world, and the fire seeds from the Heavenly God’s Forge that fell to the earth gave mortals divine knowledge.”

“A bunch of superstitious information with no real use,” Sandora ball voiced dissatisfaction, “What is the purpose of this Heavenly God’s Forge? Does it have anything to do with the Lost God Sect’s seclusion of technology?”

“Since mortals abused the knowledge and invited disaster, the Heavenly God sealed the forge, and mortals could no longer approach it or obtain the fire seeds within it. However, flas still burn within the furnace, continuously purifying the sins of the universe,” the “Leader” slowly narrated, haunted by the aftermath of the Horror Disaster, seemingly unaware of what she spoke or why she complied with strangers. “The flas in the Heavenly God’s Forge persist in dispelling the evil forces spying on the world. As long as the flas continue to burn, the evil forces cannot invade reality, yet mortals are henceforth cut off from divine grace. The God of Technology and God of Magic, in their compassion, set trials for mortals. Once mortals pass these trials, the furnace of the Heavenly God’s Forge will open again, allowing them to access knowledge anew, and civilization will advance. Those ignorant heretics misunderstood the trials’ aning, thinking that completely halting the pursuit of knowledge would earn forgiveness from the gods. Little did they know that the gods aid to test mortal’s rationality in the face of knowledge. We must correct these errors, bringing knowledge back to humanity and proving mortal willpower to the gods through our actions! The Heavenly God’s Forge is bound to reopen once we grasp the technology to leave the earth, and heretics will ultimately be eradicated!”

Even under the pressure of the Horror Disaster, the leader shivered, yet when it ca to the topic of the technological revival, she was filled with zeal, as if this enthusiasm temporarily empowered her against the terror. Sandora asked her many questions about the Heavenly God’s Forge and technological revival, but her responses were pretty much the sa: the Heavenly God’s Forge is a tangible “miracle.” Both the Lost God Sect and the Technological Revival Faction firmly believe that the “fla” within this forge shelters the entire world. To punish humans, the gods have isolated the forge’s flas from the mortal world, resulting in mankind losing the power of technology and knowledge. People hope for the day when civilization resus after the winter, leading to the main rift between the Lost God Sect and the Technological Revival Faction: the forr believes that the god’s trial is about sealing technology and “atoning” through a primitive lifestyle, reopening the forge then, while the latter holds that only by rediscovering ancient technology through effort can mortals pass the divine trial.

No matter how you see it, this “Heavenly God’s Forge” seems quite significant.

“But back to the point, where exactly is the Heavenly God’s Forge?” I looked into the leader’s eyes, seeing the lingering fear and a hint of religious fervor (these Technological Revival people seem more like a cult than the Lost God Sect), “Is it on the territory of the Lost God Sect? Or buried sowhere else on this planet? Is it an ancient relic?”

“How could the Heavenly God’s Forge be sothing so superficial?” The leader suddenly raised her voice, frightening herself, and started trembling again, “The… Heavenly God’s Forge is not on mortal lands; it resides in Heaven… above us, within the eternal mystic realm of the Heavenly God. Mortals cannot glimpse the appearance of this forge. If you’re from so small sect, I’d advise you against attempting to unravel the secrets of the Heavenly God’s Forge; it’s an area even the Lost God Sect dares not tread lightly.”

“Looks like the ‘Horror Disaster’ is over; she’s even daring to threaten us,” Sandora ball wobbled at the leader, “Ah Jun, what should we do with these people? Hand them over to Celine? Seems like Celine is the highest authority here.”

To the Lost God Sect, the Technological Revival Faction must be seen as solid adversaries, so handing over the people in this base to Celine seems reasonable. However, I pondered and slightly shook my head: “Not for now. Both the Lost God Sect and the Technological Revival Faction are in a dazed state now. Their conflict is undoubtedly to the death type, and though at least half of these extremists are guilty, the other half certainly doesn’t deserve death. But they will definitely be killed by the Lost God Sect, which is improper. We can’t allow people on this planet to keep wasting their population on stupid things.”

“Then let’s detain them in the Imperial Admiral for now. Later, let the locals assess whether they’re guilty; it’s not our concern to judge them,” Sandora ball flashed as if agreeing with my point of view. anwhile, Alaya happened to erge from a white light. Angel Sister took so long just to settle a single Leon (can you believe it took several hours?!), needless to say, she almost forgot that she needed to co back (not the first ti). Sandora ball collided against Alaya’s wing, not being polite, then instructed her, “Make another trip and teleport everyone here to the Imperial Admiral’s Prisoner of War Camp. Let the spaceship’s auto system take care of these folks. By the way, they were just attacked by the Horror Disaster; many people have brain damage or soul damage. Let the auto system treat them a bit.”

Alaya had just appeared, still feeling dizzy. Remarkably, in less than five seconds before , she had to head back to the spaceship…

Subsequently, Sandora sighed: “Tsk tsk… These days, life in the Empire’s prisoner of war camps is getting better and better, Old Empire…”

I couldn’t help but glance at her: “Back in the Old Empire days, you barely needed prisoner of war camps; ninety percent of the prisoners died on the spot.”

Sandora: “Hehe…”

Such a serious matter, don’t “hehe” carelessly; it easily invites criticism for showing disregard for human rights!

“Then, we can inform Celine about this underground site, giving her sothing to report. We’ll just say tracking a mysterious individual led us here,” I scanned the already thoroughly scanned underground palace, devoid of value, “As for the whereabouts of the personnel here, let the Lost God Sect guess. By the way, Sandora, interested in looking for that Heavenly God’s Forge?”

“You have a clue?”

I chuckled and pointed upward: “Outer space, theoretically.” (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to vote for it on qidian, your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read via m.qidian.)
