(Happy New Year, everyone! And here I am asking for monthly tickets again—currently, it’s still the double monthly ticket stage, so if you have a ticket, hurry up and cast it! These are double monthly tickets that will expire if not used! As for double updates... anyone who knows knows that’s impossible, right? But here’s so good news: there might be physical books next spring.)
The Foolish Big Guy slowly sat up from the ground, his movents were a bit sluggish, accompanied by the sound of bones creaking. It seems that even the exceptionally strong Mountain Barbarians beco weakened after several years of slumber. He shook his head vigorously, seemingly trying to find the balance between the dream that lasted years and reality, and during this process, his gaze remained fixed on our group.
"I think I had a dream," the Foolish Big Guy muttered in a rough voice, his deanor so familiar, yet differing greatly from the silly big guy we knew: this person before us was the Dark Moon Lord. Compared to the simple Foolish Big Guy, he had over two thousand years of experience, giving him an indescribable aura, "I dreamt of living in a small village for several years, with Lili in her cat form always by my side... There was a Pine Forest behind the village, just like the one at Antier’s old ho. One day while hunting in the forest, I encountered a group of strange people... It seems it was you guys."
"That’s right, it was us. We ca from the Surface World to find you," Lin Xue smiled warmly at the Foolish Big Guy, "You’re awake now, and everything that happened in your dream was real. You can ask the cat beside you for details."
The Foolish Big Guy scratched his ssy hair, his expression alternated between confused and clear, then suddenly blurted out, "Am I back ho now?"
Hearing this distinct self-reference made inexplicably relieved: it seems the familiar Foolish Big Guy hasn’t disappeared with the awakening of the Dark Moon Lord’s dream, and his mories remain, though to what extent they can be retained is uncertain.
"Barbarian Brother, you’ve been asleep for many years, a lot has happened during that ti, and I need to explain to you slowly," the Blood Princess held the Foolish Big Guy’s arm, as if hugging a thick wooden pole, then turned to us, "Thank you all, please rest upstairs for a while. Barbarian Brother and I will join you later. Soya, could you please take them to the east hall?"
The group was led by Soya to the castle’s second floor, arriving at a spacious room for a brief rest. It was still a room with little decoration, but at least the furniture was complete and a carpet laid out, appearing to be a place where the castle’s dignitaries gathered to discuss matters: in the center of the room was a particularly large long table, making it resemble a conference room. We stayed there for about thirty minutes, passing the ti with idle chatter, until finally, heavy footsteps were heard outside the door.
The newly dressed Foolish Big Guy pushed open the door and entered, followed by the Blood Princess, whose face still bore traces of tears. Behind them was the Demon Beast Maid who had previously guided the group, pushing a small trolley with so simple snacks on it.
"Sorry, the castle’s situation isn’t good right now, and we could only hastily prepare these things to entertain guests." The Blood Princess bowed apologetically to everyone, then swiftly helped the maid place the snacks on the long table. I quickly waved my hand to show I didn’t mind: "No worries—by the way, has the Foolish Big Guy figured things out?"
The Foolish Big Guy—or rather, the Dark Moon Lord—gave everyone a complex smile before sitting heavily across from us: "I’ve got it, a dream spanning years, waking up to find the world has changed drastically once more."
I looked at him; he was now dressed in an ornate and heavy robe, though the style seed a bit odd, it clearly represented the esteed status of the Dark Moon ruler. But I rembered the last ti I t him at the Northern Fortress—he was wearing coarse clothes patched in several places, with a shoulder hole worn out, the short sleeves tightly wrapped around his arms due to his large fra, looking like a farr who had just arrived in the city from a poor rural area. The difference between that struggling figure and this imposing Dark Moon Lord was imnse: although their appearances remained identical.
Bingdisi was also observing him, then suddenly spoke: "Let ask you sothing, are you now the Dark Moon Lord or the Foolish Big Guy?"
"I don’t know," he replied gruffly, shrugging, "Overall, I should be the Dark Moon Lord, but those years as the Foolish Big Guy were real indeed, and the events from those years are rembered particularly clearly. I still rember the snacks you brought..."
Lin Xue and Qianqian imdiately rummaged through their Personal Space, pulling out a heap of baked cakes, pancakes, and assorted snacks onto the long table, and the Foolish Big Guy broke into a beam: "Yes, yes, I rember these things particularly well!"
The Blood Princess’s eyes lit up beside : she was once that Spiritual God Cat, so naturally, she had vivid mories of these snacks. She instinctively jumped onto the table and scooped a pile of snacks in front of her before suddenly realizing she was in human form, awkwardly hopping back down...
"Alright, as long as you know you’re still a Foolish Big Guy," I said with a smile, looking at the big guy who was a bit confused by the continuous intertwining of two mories. Although he now bore the vicissitudes of two thousand years of experience, he still rembered things from when he was a Foolish Big Guy. I then turned to the Blood Princess, "Little Black, what should we do about the Foolish Big Guy and the Little Cat left on the ground?"
The Blood Princess was awkwardly trying to figure out how to open the snack with a packaging box. Hearing this, she was slightly taken aback, then waved her hand dismissively, "They should have dissipated by now. Although they had bodies of flesh and blood, they were still things created using the Demon Beast Secret Technique and Black Witchcraft, like iron sand attracted and shaped by a magnet. Once disconnected from the Dark Moon, they revert to elents and return to the earth. Also, don’t call Little Black, call Lili or Blood Princess, Little Black is just a stage na..."
"Alright, now that the Foolish Big Guy is clear-headed, we’ve fully figured out what’s happening in this world," I clapped my hands to get everyone’s attention, "Let’s start discussing how to handle all the remaining issues in this world. First is the Dark Moon War—no need to say, it must stop imdiately. Soya, I hope you can help explain things over to Edwin; he probably doesn’t know anything about the situation here yet. Ask him to prepare, as we may have to announce the complete cessation of the Dark Moon War in the na of the Goddess. He’s quite skilled at that sort of thing."
Soya nodded, "Leave it to . That guy is good at making up stories. But even if the Dark Moon War ends, it might be hard for the surface and the Dark Moon to return to normal imdiately... after all, the Goddess’ Scripture has been around for two thousand years."
"That’s your issue," I waved my hand, "If Edwin could turn the world upside down like this, he can certainly turn it back. Moreover, this ti he has the backing of an actual God, just give a reasonable explanation in the na of God, like the Dark Moon has been fully purified, a group among the Dark Moon People has suddenly awakened and cooperated with the Goddess to sweep away the demons on the Dark Moon, returning to the embrace of the Goddess or sothing."
"What about Barbarian Brother? The Surface People won’t accept the Dark Moon Lord!" The Blood Princess imdiately thought of the toughest point, "And how do you explain the final whereabouts of the Dark Moon Lord to the Surface People?"
"Isn’t it simple?" Bingdisi indeed lived up to her reputation as an old scamr, smoothly coming up with a story, "Just say a Barbarian Prince raised the flag of justice, internally collaborated with the Goddess, and completely took out the Dark Moon Lord. Basically, just publicize again what you all did back then. Foolish Big Guy, from now on, you’ll be your son."
The Foolish Big Guy chuckled heartily, not minding the Blood Princess’s weird look beside him, "Sure, anyways not many people nowadays recognize , I’ll just be my son."
"You guys are so out of line..." The Blood Princess only managed to say half a sentence before I moved on to the next topic, "That’s it for the Dark Moon War issue. Now the most important: the Abyss Power in this world must be completely eradicated. The Abyss Power is what you refer to as the Shadow of Demon. Have you all managed to confine the Shadow of Demon in a Demon Cave now? Well then, we just need to thoroughly purify the place... Wait, Lin Xue, won’t this get detected by the Fallen Apostles?"
I suddenly recalled: this world is sandwiched on the Fire Line! While the Abyss leaking from the Divine Artifact won’t be that potent, the issue is it’s already spread across the planet, and the size of the Demon Cave might reach the scanning precision of the Fallen Apostles. Conducting such a large-scale purification activity, the most dangerous factor is that it might get detected by the Fallen Apostles.
"No need to worry about that," Lin Xue waved her hand, "We’re just purifying a big pit, and those guys are weak, we don’t need overwhelming power to handle it."
"Okay, next, let’s go purify the Demon Cave, completely resolving this world’s historical leftover issues," assigning tasks bit by bit lifted my spirits, "Little Black, lastly let’s talk about the Divine Artifact; that’s our main purpose in coming to this world—where exactly have you hidden that thing?"
"Don’t call Little Black," the Blood Princess’s "beastly side" flared up, raising her ears, "that was my stage na when I was a cat!" She then exhaled, "Of course, I’d be eager for you all to take that jinx away. The Divine Artifact is stored in a special space device, which is split into two parts. The Divine Artifact only appears in the container when it’s assembled. The key to the container is with Edwin... oh, Soya’s already brought it over this ti, and the main part of the container is placed in the Demon Cave."
"You stored the device containing the Divine Artifact in the Demon Cave?" Bingdisi clicked her tongue, "That’s quite the peaceful storage location."
The Blood Princess spread her hands, smiling bitterly, "We hoped the Divine Artifact might one day suddenly activate and draw back in the demon power. I know this idea is silly, but it was one of the motivations keeping us going until today. Besides... the ’safest’ place in this world is actually the Demon Cave, isn’t it? No one dares to steal anything from the Demon Cave, right?"
"Well, let’s do it like this, we can handle everything together, purify the Abyss and retrieve the Divine Artifact," Bingdisi yawned as she stood up, "This head-scratching task is finally coming to an end. Now let’s set off to the Demon Cave—Little Dragon Girl, that’s the place where I picked you up, right?"
"Wait a minute!" Just as everyone was preparing to take action, Foolish Big Guy suddenly spoke deeply, "Did you all forget soone? What about Antier?"
I couldn’t help but glance at the Blood Princess, indeed, although she looked calm on the surface, the Demon Beast Girl who had silently admired for over two thousand years showed a hint of loneliness at that mont. I then looked up at Foolish Big Guy... He showed no reaction, only kept staring at Bingdisi, hoping to get an answer from her. It seed that this straightforward big fellow hadn’t noticed there was a silent, little admirer behind him; these three people were really awkward... But considering my relationship with Miss, I better not judge others.
"The Mortal little girl fused with the Divine Artifact," Bingdisi rubbed her chin, "It’s unclear what state she’s in, so it’s hard to determine what to do, but I can assure you, the Divine Race is not emotionless, we will not sacrifice the innocent if there’s an option."
Foolish Big Guy finally nodded in relief, just then Qianqian seed to suddenly think of sothing, she curiously looked at Foolish Big Guy: "Big Guy, every ti the Dark Moon War happens, you go to get your wife to stab you, right?"
Foolish Big Guy rarely responded humorously: "It’s a ’recurring event’ during the Dark Moon War, I get ’killed’ by Antier in front of them, the Ground Alliance cheers and celebrates—then Edwin and Lili sneak back."
"Aren’t you afraid of ssing up?"
Foolish Big Guy showed a calm smile: "No, my body is already Undead, and unknowing Antier doesn’t know how to destroy a Soul, the process is very safe."
"You go there just to get stabbed, what’s the point," Qianqian mumbled, "The Dark Moon War would continue without you anyway."
"It’s different, the Surface People need a clear and strong enemy, only then can they unleash their full potential against the Demon, and each ti ’Dark Moon Lord is slain by the Goddess’ is crucial to maintaining the Church’s influence in the Surface World, lastly there’s an even more important reason," Foolish Big Guy said slowly about the value of his life, then turned the topic, "When I go get stabbed, don’t I get to et Antier again?"
I was dumbfounded for a few seconds before suddenly realizing: "You go there to get stabbed each ti just to see your wife?!"
Foolish Big Guy nodded matter-of-factly: "Yeah, it’s my only chance to et Antier, normally she’s fused with the Divine Artifact."
Bingdisi desperately pulled her hair, clearly even this Female hooligan couldn’t take Foolish Big Guy’s extre logic: "My gosh... You’ve been healing for hundreds of years just to reunite with your wife for a few seconds?! And in those few seconds, she kills you?!"
Foolish Big Guy continued nodding: "Yeah."
"You find it worthwhile?"
"Yeah."
"You rely on this to live?"
"Yeah."
Bingdisi finally exploded in frustration: "... Are you an idiot?!"
Foolish Big Guy thought for a mont, still wore that foolish smile, and nodded: "Yeah."
Soya suddenly whispered beside us: "You see, I’ve said he’s very stubborn, back in the days to remind not to eat raw at, he chased across the entire mountain range—he’s just a single-minded simpleton."
What more could I say? Looking at that foolishly smiling big guy across the table, and the silently watching Blood Princess occasionally glancing at her "Barbarian Brother," I was speechless, and probably understood why the Blood Princess had been silently admiring for two thousand years without confessing: faced with such a die-hard person, the Blood Princess could only choose to forever admire silently.
Before leaving the Dark Moon Palace, we needed to purify this place once, there were twenty people lightly corrupted by the Abyss here, and the entire building was shrouded with a foul atmosphere, following the principle of doing good deeds thoroughly, we couldn’t just leave it unaddressed.
In front of the castle, Bingdisi spread her black wings, enveloping the rock high platform in a holy pillar of light shining down from the sky. Golden runes erged from the air and the ground, forming circular arrays around the castle, amidst faint hymns, the dark atmosphere lingering in the castle for two thousand years slowly dissipated, the Holy Light was vastly different from the crude imitation made by the Surface People, seeing this sky-covering brilliance, Foolish Big Guy couldn’t help murmuring: "This must be true Divine Power, much grander than Antier’s commotion."
"But I didn’t think the Goddess’ wings could be black," the Blood Princess stood beside us, observing the Black Winged Goddess bathing in holy light, then glanced at Alaya floating behind , with a face of ’Don’t look at , I know nothing’, "That’s more like the Goddess I envision."
Angel Sister noticed soone talking about her, imdiately sent over a silly smile, Bingdisi anwhile while conducting the purification ceremony grew irate: "Can’t you just stop critiquing the decoration! How co no matter where I go, as soon as I release the Holy Light, soone comnts like this, even my Pope specifically asked about it during prayers!"
Everyone: "..."
It seems Bingdisi gets on quite well with her followers.
The Demon Cave is actually not far from here, probably to monitor the planet’s most dangerous prison at all tis, Foolish Big Guy and Blood Princess chose to settle in the planet’s second most dangerous zone—the Dark Moon Palace is actually akin to the monitoring tower of the Demon Cave, and there’s a direct Transmission Station connecting the two, saving us a lot of trouble.
As per the prior task arrangents, Soya left to the Surface World to inform Edwin of the situation here, while we, along with Foolish Big Guy and Blood Princess, arrived at the Demon Cave via the Transmission Station.
What appeared before everyone was a bottomless deep Abyss. (To be continued. If you like this work, feel free to vote for recomndations and monthly tickets on Qidian (qidian), your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please go to m.qidian to read.)
