Rebellion is the inherent power of intelligent beings, needing no guidance, only enough oppression.
The lowa People’s millennia-long brainwashing and spiritual enslavent policy cannot fundantally change the essence of life. The group of fanatical followers they have established with nerve poison and brain wave suppression devices has no foundation at all. It is a governance structure as fragile as a house of cards, with loyalty and trust entirely built on fear and illusion. Once these illusions are forcibly dispelled by a stronger power, humans who gain the ability to think freely will decisively not tolerate these unfounded tyrannies—when the lowa dispatched the "Disciplinarians" to slaughter the innocent Slave Races, those Slave Fleets that had just gained free will were imdiately driven by rage.
The lowa have only twisted their loyalty thoughts but failed to twist their normal human emotions. Even slaves cannot tolerate the trampling of their holand in such a manner.
The truth is, the lowa have always done this; it’s just that their atrocities were previously covered by nerve poison, brainwashing thods, and hypocritical "benevolent" rhetoric. But now, Barrian has torn down the last facade, laying out all atrocities on the table fiercely. It seems he has completely lost trust in his Slave Soldiers. Under the imnse pressure of the Imperial Army, he actually believes that eliminating "potential traitors" is the priority to maintain his rule. It must be said, Tulazo’s view is correct: from the mont of treason, Barrian has already gone mad.
The lowa will sooner or later take action against their Slave Races; this is sothing we anticipated from the beginning, or rather, it is driven by the Imperial Army. Because, no matter what, as long as the Imperial Army attacks, Barrian will definitely send the Slave Fleet to the battlefield. And as long as the Slave Fleet appears, we cannot possibly slaughter these races who are already victims. So the Slave Fleets receiving "special care" from the Imperial Army on the battlefield is an inevitable situation. Once this situation arises, Barrian will certainly punish the howorlds and compatriots of those Slave Fleets... This is a process that could not have been avoided long ago. Even if the confrontation between the Imperial Army and the lowa Army is delayed, Tulazo will incite slave uprisings in several worlds, and at that ti, large-scale bloody suppression by the lowa will still occur. In any case, these Slave Races will have to undergo a brutal sacrifice to gain freedom. Occasionally, I feel oppressed by this, but it’s unpreventable. Any freedom requires a price; there is no heaven that descends from the sky—it would only be another cage. These Slave Races need to endure a period of turmoil before they can stand up again. We have expedited this process, actually also avoiding more of the Slave Races from dying unknowingly under the tyranny of the lowa. Judging from Barrian’s ntal state, I even suspect that one day he will find joy in genocide, and by then, it will be too late for the slaves to resist.
When the three Slave Fleet Commanders returned to their ships to reorganize the army, I ca alone to the deepest part of the Command Center in General City. Here lies a massive underground structure, with sturdy layers of protection enclosing the tal facility, subrging it in the magma depths of the General Star. The interior of this building is spacious, with only one set of equipnt, a gigantic crystal located in the center of the core hall, surrounded by a circle of ring-shaped amplifiers... The crystal is so imnse it can almost be considered a small mountain, with a faint hum resonating rhythmically around it. In the past few days, Tulazo has used his channels to scatter those Resonance Crystals throughout all areas with Slave Races, forming a Spiritual Amplification Network across thirteen worlds with billions of nodes. The colossal crystal before is the control center for all the Resonance Crystals, with Sandora’s power concentrated upon it. When the energy of this hall’s amplification device reaches its peak, the network will activate, and the foreign thoughts forcibly implanted in the depths of every slave’s spirit will be washed away, causing Barrian’s millennium-long "sacred rule" to collapse instantly.
After that, we will launch a full-scale attack on the Divine Country.
"System—start—syncing network—"
The intelligent host in the hall recognized my operational authority. Following the preset procedure, it began awakening the twenty-six secondary amplification nodes located at the edge of the local Constant Star System. These amplification nodes are grouped in pairs, connected through Void channels to the crystal network of each world. The buzzing sound from the charging equipnt shifted from a low pitch to a high pitch, and the crystal mountain before started to tremble slightly. I glanced at the device readings floating beside , seeing a mass of incomprehensible data streams. But beside the data stream, there was a big arrow pointing to a button, and below the arrow was a line of text: Press this when the data turns red—Sandora’s note.
: "..." At this mont, I couldn’t help but silently appreciate Sandora’s thoughtfulness.
I didn’t quite understand the operation process of such an advanced device, but there’s no choice. Only I can enter this place, and many subsequent operations can only be completed by myself. Sandora’s power is overly strong, especially when she is in Glory Form, and such imnse power is concentrated by a set of Resonance Crystal Arrays in such a small hall. One can imagine how abundant the Spiritual Energy is here. There is a saying: the power of God is so strong that a mortal will be blinded by only a glance at the divine light; it’s a similar situation here. Even if Sandora does nothing, the aura she emanates is lethal. Ordinary creatures entering within a hundred ters of the crystal periter would instantly be burnt into idiots. Soone of Leader Level like Qianqian and Lin Xue would also feel dizzy here. Only my unique physique can completely withstand this environnt. In the end, it’s still because the Resonance Network’s technology isn’t too mature. After all, it’s sothing we quickly pieced together. If it wasn’t to deal with Barrian, the Empire would have absolutely no interest in creating such a large-scale Mind Control Network. Although Sandora is a Soul Taker, she deeply detests using spiritual enslavent to govern people. A normal Xyrin Apostle would never act against those loyal to the Empire.
When the system started, I checked the network we had quickly assembled and found so familiar nas on the active list. Besides Tulazo, the top na was Anu Lili: this indigenous girl, one of the first to contact us, is now in the most active position within the Resistance Front?
"I didn’t expect you to be responsible for the external liaison for the Resistance Organization," I greeted Anu Lili, seeing her na listed under Liaison Officer, I said with so surprise, "Tulazo should have already inford you of the plan, the network is activating now."
"Yes, everything is normal here, and several of our observed compatriots are ’waking up,’" Anu Lili, wearing a sharp uniform, looked entirely different from the rustic girl in coarse cloth dress she once was. Now, she appeared like a Starship Commander seasoned through military trials, "The ntor has already contacted other Resistance Organizations within the sa Galaxy. We will launch actions simultaneously—destroying the lowa’s heavy factories and raw material bases, cutting off their logistics line. This is already the limit the Slave Races can achieve. We are powerless to directly confront their army, or even their Disciplinary Police."
I nodded; these plans had all been agreed upon earlier. Once Tulazo’s actions comnce, the lowa will inevitably divert so attention to the rebellious planets. When they take action, the Imperial Army will dispatch so distracting ’wolf pack’ units to intercede on these Slave Planets, obstructing the lowa’s ’disciplinary’ work, thereby diverting Barrian’s attention once more. At this ti, it will be the opportune mont for the Main Army to attack the Divine Country.
"There will probably be significant casualties..." Anu Lili looked at operating those complex pieces of equipnt and suddenly said with so lancholy, "I heard that in the Far Border, so planets have already been attacked by the lowa’s Disciplinary Police. They casually bombed, claiming it as Divine Punishnt. Such events will soon occur here... If sacrificed in resistance, it still makes sense, but before that, many people might get killed in bewildernt and confusion... What is this, collapsing in the last darkness before dawn? And not knowing the truth even until the mont of their fall..."
"This is inevitable," I paused my operations and sighed. "Perhaps the appearance of the Imperial Army has caused many civilians to die prematurely in this liberation war, but if we don’t take action, as ti goes on, more civilians will die. A madman will not stop voluntarily, and Barrian is an extre madman."
Actually, there was still half a sentence I didn’t say: the death of our compatriots can further ignite the rebellious spirit of those slave fleets. It’s a cruel equation, but in war, many things are indeed cruel. Life is precious, yet it can still be weighed in the context of the entire war.
"Ah, don’t mind , I’m not complaining to you or anything," Anu Lili possibly felt a bit guilty about her current state of mind and quickly waved her hand, saying, "I was also brought up by my ntor, so I have so understanding. It’s just... after all, these are our own people. Watching them remain numb and die in that state is a really difficult thing. If it were , I’d rather fight and die after knowing the truth than fall in such numbness. It’s too regrettable."
"Then let’s keep pushing, let’s work together to end it all quickly," I exhaled, confirming the last set of amplification matrices was now connected online. The hall echoed with the process notification from the intelligent system: system startup process completed. "Now go notify Tulazo; his work... has begun!"
I think Barrian is currently experiencing the darkest period of his life.
According to our intelligence, during the battle at Silver Heart, the lowa People deployed over half of their main fleet, which ans Barrian’s half of the regular army was nearly wiped out in a single battle. The lowa People spent millennia studying Imperial technology to improve their weapons, yet when faced with the true Imperial Fleet, these knockoff technologies were utterly defeated. Such enormous loss enraged that tyrant, and he soon learned that the slave fleet was protected by the Imperial Army in the battle, leading him to firmly believe that the slave race under his rule had betrayed him, so he dispatched the "Disciplinarians". However, these Disciplinarians ended up aiding Tulazo in a roundabout way: Tulazo gathered evidence of the Disciplinarians’ atrocities and sent it to every resistance organization. This beca irrefutable proof enough to incite the people’s anger, and just then, a sweeping spiritual power enveloped all slave races across thirteen universes.
In a single night, trillion slaves woke up. They newly awakened from millennia-long illusion and hypnotic states, opened their eyes to see their hos being burned by a group of marauders. These marauders carried a false divine light on their bodies, and thousands of twisted evil souls were aboard the brilliantly lit warships. The slaves experienced brief confusion, then angered by the ongoing atrocities of the lowa People, conflicts began to sporadically erupt without organization. However, the lowa Disciplinarians paid no attention—such chaos lasted for about two days under the subtle balance and tolerance of all parties. Tulazo believed the ti was ripe, the anger had been accumulated, and the lowa People temporarily intoxicated by the pleasure of violence, so under his directive, countless organized and potentially ard resistance groups ford by local natives sprang up like bamboo shoots after rain!
Barrian and his henchn never knew about these resistance organizations; they always thought the acts of resistance happening on the slave planets were rely "conditional reflexes when animals feel pain", and they even failed to notice tily that their brainwashing effect had dissipated. This resulted in more effective slave group revolts than we anticipated.
On a slave planet far from the Divine Country, an ard troop carrier filled with "Disciplinary Police" suffered a heavy attack upon reaching orbit. All the lowa People aboard the carrier along with the spaceship beca fireworks in space, and those who launched the attack were a group of slave fleets that disappeared with the Imperial Army four days ago during the battle at Silver Heart and now suddenly returned.
This was the first lowa warship destroyed by a slave attack, and imdiately after, the first group of well-ard resistance fighters erged on that planet. These resistance fighters, filled with anger and determination, stord the "Great Temple" set up by the lowa People on the planet. After leaving thousands of bodies, they detonated bombs that destroyed the entire temple along with themselves—this was the first lowa ruling institution destroyed by slaves. When this news spread across all realms under the clandestine promotion of conservative lowa officers, the anti-enlightennt movent hit its peak—Barrian was enraged.
He began mustering more Disciplinary Police and even a small portion of the regular army to launch "heretical purges" on the slave planets. He had no other option because the slaves had started attacking all raw material sites and heavy factories. Slaves refused to work, sabotaged machines, and even fought back against supervisors with rudintary tools—they even managed to kill a small number of the latter. The situation grew increasingly chaotic, and Barrian found himself on the brink of losing all foundational industries and raw material supplies, forcing him to turn his attention toward these rebellion-led planets—yet so many planets had erupted in rebellion, nearly every place inhabited by slaves was experiencing upheaval. Finally, the previously efficient lowa governing body found itself caught in a bog of stagnation.
Every planet was erupting in turmoil, with nearly all the basic industries supported by slave races grinding to a halt overnight. Barrian instigated a nationwide campaign of brutal oppression, yet his previously undefeated suppression thods failed this ti: slaves who gained the ability to think freely were not foolish; they knew the arrival of liberation also ant there was no turning back. They understood their tyrant well: whether they resisted or not, they faced death in the end. Therefore, slaves rose up, bravely confronting the overseers and slave masters. As Anu Lili ntioned, the process resulted in significant casualties, and the initial slave rebels were almost suppressed as though being slaughtered. But a few days later, the situation shifted. The slave masters of lowa people were alard to discover that the number of ard "bandits" they were facing was growing rapidly. Slaves sohow procured large quantities of arms, arming themselves en masse and coordinating with the "Radical Ard Organizations" sprouting like mushrooms, albeit without organization and acting blindly. Yet their overwhelming numbers still left the lowa People scrambling. The latter had lived in comfort for too long, leading so places to the point where so outposts, staffed by only three or four lowa supervisors, were assaulted by tens of thousands of ard slaves. Under such circumstances, Barrian swiftly lost his mines and primary tal processing plants—he could no longer repair his main fleet.
It is worth ntioning those highly active "Radical Ard Organizations". These resistance groups organized by local natives had a much deeper rooting than we had imagined and a wider spread than previously expected. It is hard to imagine how they managed to remain hidden under the lowa People’s noses for so long and even plant such a large number of infiltrators within slave society. And, just like how Anu Lili’s resistance organization discovered the ans of reducing dication doses and using weak-effect vaccines to eliminate brainwashing effects, it seems every resistance organization had its own ways to counter lowa People’s mind control. The lowa people use different brainwashing thods for each race, with varying drugs, yet all resistance organizations sohow found the "antidote". Beyond this, more intriguingly was the ergence of ard slaves: their weapons did not appear out of nowhere. After erging, each race’s resistance group besides carrying out intense and inciting propaganda also secretly distributed weapons to everyone. Most were brand new, and so light military weapons even used lowa technology. It’s clear that an underground resistance organization does not have the ans to produce such quantities of cutting-edge armants, so... frankly, it’s hard not to believe Tulazo and the conservative faction he leads played a part in all this: this also conveniently explains why all resistance organizations would enthusiastically respond to the call of a lowa person. What Tulazo has done over these thousand years involved far more than rely establishing a refuge among Anu Lili’s race. He covertly deceived his radical comrades for a thousand years, and now this thousand-year trap is finally ready to devour its victims.
And the slave races’ rebellion was rely the beginning of the end for Barrian’s rule. Soon, another disaster struck his kingdom, and this ti, the disaster erupted at the top of lowa Empire’s pyramid.
The Divine Country began to suffer from an inexplicable "plague". (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you’re welco to visit qidian to vote for recomndations or monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
