Capítulo 1155: Chapter 1155: Everyone’s Here, Huh
The last fra captured by the monitor in the War God Temple before it went to scrap was Dingdang’s face, magnified several tis, happily opening her mouth to bite at the cara in front of her. Honestly, I can’t even imagine what was going on in Dingdang’s head when she did this silly thing. Hmm, maybe she wasn’t thinking at all—this is very much in line with her ntal setup.
But then again, Dingdang’s combat power is indeed quite high. Her mouth, when opened to the maximum, can only swallow a mung bean, yet she managed to bite through the cara in one go—although it might have been broken by her head—this fully demonstrates the little thing’s destructive power isn’t any weaker than those little demon lords at ho at certain tis. Hmm, now is not the ti to discuss this issue.
I grinned helplessly with Lei, really not knowing what to say now, as Dingdang caused a ruckus in the War God Temple, turning these believers into a frenzy. Looking at the main hall in chaos due to that chicken-flying-and-dog-jumping chase, not only are there debris everywhere, even the Bible and other holy artifacts on the pulpit are in disarray, and she even guzzled down their holy water… I patted the pocket in front of my chest, and Dingdang’s soft voice ca through: “Dingdang was just a little nervous… Who knows why they suddenly ca rushing over…”
“This is a very serious incident, but the Gods haven’t given clear instructions, so it might need to be handled low-key,” Lei spread his hands and said, “The church district might be blocked for the upcoming days until we find that strange creature or God descends with an oracle. However, you two guests are not citizens of Azure Star, so you won’t be affected. Hopefully, this didn’t bother you; later, so scientists wish to talk to you—oh, it won’t take long, they’re just interested in the true nature of cosmic civilizations, we’ve debated for years what the civilizations across the universe are like, maybe your appearance can put an end to this debate…”
Lei was interrupted half-way by a sudden exclamation from Eva: “Ah! The Divine Statue!”
Including us, everyone in the main hall turned to the source of the sound, and then the believers cried out in astonishnt: before their eyes, the gigantic War God statue behind the pulpit was radiating increasingly intense Holy Light at an eye-visible augntation speed, accompanied by a distant, ethereal sound, akin to Heaven’s bells, erging from the air, and Yelsen’s familiar aura was becoming more prevalent in the Holy Light (of course, to these on-site believers utilizing the War God’s blessing, it was a sacred aura), obviously, a teleportation gate was being opened using the statue as a coordinate. Eva stared blankly at all this and finally reacted a mont later: “God descent! The God descent has started!”
Lei’s eyes opened wide, face twitching, and rembering what he should do now after Eva, he dashed towards the chapel entrance, yelling at the junior priests outside: “The God is here!! Quickly activate the clock tower! Dispel the idle, all priests check their attire and holy artifacts—do not desecrate the Gods! Why are those people over there still daydreaming? It’s your first day receiving the baptism, don’t know what I’m saying, God is here!! It’s the God descent!”
I never thought a seventy-year-old man could shout at such a level; he could probably cultivate a loyal custor base selling caralized sugar on Chang’an Street’s outskirts, echoing over the entire church district. Once Lei’s voice fell, noises ca from outside the temple imdiately. Though most priests weren’t precisely aware of what was happening inside the main hall, the shocking news from their High Priest alone was enough to get these people who’ve been praying for half a lifeti jumping in excitent. Shortly, the noise from outside gradually faded, while a deep, heavy bell sound began to emanate from the direction of the church’s Central Zone.
“We must inform the Pope, need to notify the Pope imdiately… but the council is currently… No, the God descent is the most critical now!” Lei, with agitation, jogged from the temple’s entrance, pacing back and forth, muttering to himself in distress, wringing his hands nervously, then shouted towards the pulpit: “Eva! Go notify the Pope!”
“The Pope is already heading this way,” Eva responded loudly, fumbling anxiously with various odd ritual items from beneath the pulpit, donning them one by one; she had a tiny earpiece-like device clipped to her ear—based on what Eva was saying, I imdiately guessed it must function like a telephone, “The Pope just received a revelation, directly sensing what happened over at the temple now… ah, the Pope is stuck in the outer ring!”
“I always advised him to switch to a floating car! That stubborn old mule!” Lei jumped half a ter in place, “Alright, never mind over there, quickly prepare the welcoming God’s ritual items—you might not have experience, but you should know what to do!”
Eva hardly had ti to respond before bustling back again, her movents dizzyingly swift, apparently the ceremony for welcoming the God descent was indeed incredibly complex, though I’m sure ninety percent of the ritual requirents are just mortals’ imagination, pure busywork; the standard for welcoming Father God back at ho doesn’t exceed dumplings, shows that welcoming a God descent is actually quite simple…
“Two hundred years, it’s been two hundred years since the last God descent,” Lei excitedly scrubbed his hands, pacing rapidly, muttering self-talk, “Why did the Gods choose to descend suddenly at this mont… Last ti He ca to stop a giant teor, this ti is it to prevent a disaster or bring guidance… could it be…”
At last, Lei abruptly stopped, then his eyes slowly rotated, finally landing on and Sandora.
“Oh… Lord, celestial visitors, the turning point for Azure Star! Old Joe was right!”
As if to confirm Lei’s words, just as his voice fell, the Holy Light on the War God statue quickly retracted, forming a teleportation gate hovering in mid-air, the first to step out was a handso hunk in golden armor, a long cape trailing behind, full of swagger and style, waving in the breeze—Yelsen. He stepped into the air and unsurprisingly, stumbled and fell: the teleportation gate opened in mid-air, but 123 incredibly didn’t know!
“Oh my, that wretched girl Monina, no wonder she fought over to help open the door, even letting go out first.” Yelsen promptly jumped up, crushing his debonair image as he opened his mouth (of course, the falling just now had also been crushed quite a bit), the speaking style unmistakably, it’s the 123 that could sit with on a roadside curb eating pancakes while watching the sunset: still the more familiar version.
Following 123 was a petite girl, clad in black, silver hair flying, none other than cheeky Monina, the culprit who opened the teleportation gate in mid-air and tricked her brother into jumping out, afterward, a series of familiar figures appeared before my eyes: Tiaozi Five from the Divine Race, Qianqian, Sister, Pandora sisters, rcury Lamp… in the end, even a jelly pudding jumped out.
They even brought that Sli along—it’s like a group date aiming to tease !
“Ah, there’s Eva,” Monina, upon jumping out, imdiately looked around, then saw the bewildered “Holy Lady” watching the crowd of people appear, “Hmm hmm, still so cute like when young—this is the first ti seeing face-to-face oh.”
Eva seed to have a string in her head straining to operate twice, hesitatingly said: “Shadow Goddess… Lord?”
“Shadow Goddess?” Monina hurriedly jumped to Yelsen’s side, nudging her brother’s arm, “Bro, was I using this title in this world back then?”
“It’s Dark Goddess, over a hundred years ago Azure Star’s cultural reform, Shadow and Dark gradually beca synonymous.”
“Oh,” Monina jumped back before Eva, “Shadow Goddess is Shadow Goddess then—why that expression? Silly girl can’t even distinguish the aura coming from anymore? I was the Guardian God of your birth blessing.”
Eva opened her mouth arduously but said nothing: seems that string finally snapped.
And by this ti, I was already surrounded by the gang from ho, half of whom are troublemakers who can’t learn to pay attention to their surroundings, hence they completely ignored the confusion their grand entrance had caused, just gathered around and Sandora to start talking about the fleet’s navigation issues. rcury Lamp even rushed to my shoulder to sit securely, comfortably hugging my head and starting to doze off: as if afraid coming late would let soone occupy this unique territory.
“Be quiet!!” Seeing this energetic bunch was about to cause a commotion if I didn’t speak up, so I shouted loudly, finally trading for a mont of peace, during which Yelsen quickly signaled to Lei Old Master: “Don’t ask anything or think anything now, close all doors and windows, don’t let people co in—you and Eva can stay. I need to explain properly to you.”
Fortunately, before the descent of God began, all the War God believers except for Eva and Lei had already left the main hall: I heard Lilina say that god descent is a trendously sacred and significant event. Believers think that those without pure faith would desecrate the land where God has just descended, so only the highest-level believers can witness the event at the site of god descent. And now, the highest-level believers in the church district are only Lei and Eva, with the Pope and several High Priests out. This saved us a lot of trouble.
Now, the only two people who know the situation inside the main hall are Old Master Lei and another person. We are not worried that bold and curious believers would dare to peek inside: this would probably be an offense punishable by being burned at the stake.
Although it is not clear what happened, the War God in front of us is genuine—due to the power of divinity, believers can’t misrecognize their god—hence Lei imdiately nodded, almost sprinting to close the main hall doors and lock them securely, then swiftly went to block all windows with sunshades, and even the skylight at the top of the main hall slowly closed with chanical squeaks. After all this, the main hall was completely sealed off from the outside world. Qianqian touched the darkness and complained, “Well, soone should turn on the lights…”
Monina’s voice ca from nearby: “Bro, go hang on the roof.” Everyone: “…”
Monina was, of course, just joking, and 123 knew this, so he just snapped his fingers: “Let there be light.”
Suddenly, the whole hall was resplendent with glory, the holy light almost blinding, Yelsen quickly snapped his fingers again: “Dim the light a bit.”
This ti it finally normalized.
I managed to coax Little Baobao and Little Crow, who were practicing climbing over , to the side, letting them play with Sli, then I approached Eva and Lei, who were still in a daze, waving my hand in front of them: “Have you snapped out of it? If so, let’s talk about this Heavenly God descending… never mind, 123, you do it.”
“Call Yelsen, I need to show so authority in front of the kids, right,” the dead handso man scratched his head, stepped forward, cleared his throat, and with a smile, addressed the two believers, “Eva, Lei, this is my first ti appearing before you in real form, and it might have been a shock. Originally, I shouldn’t randomly intervene in the mortal world, but my sister was driving crazy—By the way, Chen, have you seen our captain?”
“Here she is, here she is,” I quickly pulled out Dingdang, who was hugging her head and curled up into a ball, knowing she had accidentally caused trouble for others, handed her over for everyone to see, “She turned into a Dingdang Ball.”
“Oh, oh, the captain is being cute again.” Yelsen, understanding Dingdang well, was not surprised, just relieved to know the captain was found, then turned to Eva and Lei, beginning to explain the identity of the “Aliens.”
This was a long narration involving the identities of Sandora and , and why we were so familiar with the “War God” and its extended relatives, taking nearly an hour to explain the whole background and character relationships. It’s really hard on Yelsen. Our family is so ssy, you can’t understand it even by listing a formula for thirty minutes, yet he had to explain this ss to complete strangers. In the end, he concluded by pointing at Sandora and : “In short, this is the Landlord, and this is the Landlady. The five of us now live in their house, and the rest of these are their revered ancestors…”
He summarized it to only this point in an hour!—Though the summary was quite to the point.
Then, it took Lei and Eva another five minutes to co to their senses, looking at this large group of “people” who could almost be described as rare creatures. I know how it looks when our entire family appears in front of others and what kind of impression it leaves, usually akin to an outsized family outing, complete with wife, children, and pets, thus Lei’s gaze grew increasingly peculiar, but eventually, he nodded woodenly: “So, all along, who we were with… were actually two other gods?”
“Well, actually, whether gods or not, it’s just like that,” I spoke as I watched the few little ones playing not far away, particularly preventing Little Crow from biting the Sli called Xizhi Lang, “In our own world, we usually don’t refer to ourselves as gods, but in lower worlds, it’s a common view. Ultimately, it’s just a title, so you shouldn’t mind too much—since the Xyrin Divine System and the Star Domain Divine System are two independent groups, even if we are considered gods, it would only be within the Xyrin Territory. For you, Sandora and I should be relatively powerful aliens: and aliens who have a good relationship with your gods.”
That explanation should be clear: “Xyrin Divine System” is now more than just a concept, moving towards becoming a realistic system. As the number of Crow God believers increases and the belief system in Crow God gradually establishes, the Crow God Sect has beco the first touchstone of the Xyrin Divine System. Additionally, the ancient spirits that the 300 Imperial Mystery Side Commanders once incarnated have been leading nurous religious organizations on the Mother Continent, indicating that the Xyrin Divine System is taking off. Although our family hasn’t had the intention of establishing a religion, in so places, the term “Xyrin Gods” is spreading. Given that to the lower-level indigenous civilizations within the Empire Territory (so of which are still in a feudal society on the planet), the Imperial Patrol Ships occasionally passing through the sky and the wind-and-rain controlling Xyrin Apostles engaged in scientific research on their planets are deified objects, thus over ti, a vague concept of “Xyrin Gods” erged within the Empire.
But this is ultimately developing only within the Empire Territory, having completely infiltrated the Star Domain Divine Race managed worlds. From Lei’s perspective, he need not worry about the matters of the Xyrin Divine System.
Well, maybe in the future, as the Empire and the Star Domain develop further, there’s the potential for a fusion of believers within the Star Domain Territory, much like the erging sects on the Mother Continent that simultaneously worship both the Crow God and the Star Domain Divine System: this is entirely possible. After all, both in the Star Domain and Xyrin, at the bottom layer of believers, relatively liberal policies are implented, and both sides do not prohibit polytheism, so there’s really no need to compete for faith as far as we’re concerned.
Thinking about these things now feels a bit too far off, I retracted my attention from the outlook into the future and looked at Lei: “You might not accept it for a while, but that’s the reality. For now, you and Eva are the only ones who may know these things, and I don’t want this to disrupt the normal developnt of Azure Star. Consider this a religious secret.”
“Yes…yes,” Lei nodded sowhat awkwardly, facing the fact that the god he worshiped stood before him, an experience making him quite nervous—and it’s not just one, but a whole group standing there, “So, the fleets in outer space… are actually divine legions? Oh, no wonder we couldn’t comprehend the principles of those ships at all, their driving sources seed to co from nowhere, completely absent any fluctuations of magic power…”
“Uh, explaining that is complicated, they aren’t our military, in your understanding, they should probably be civilians,” I scratched my head, “In fact, Sandora and I were just rescuing that fleet and bringing them to the Divi…Divine Realm, and then sothing unexpected happened mid-way.”
“So that’s it,” Lei nodded in realization, then seed to recall sothing, “Oh, by the way, although your matters need keeping secret, the news of god descent has already been announced, and the Pope is on the way, should he also be…”
“Oh, the news of god descent can be made public, after all, it’s not like there hasn’t been a god descent before, just don’t ntion that there were over a dozen gods grouping descent this ti, just make public the matters about and Monina,” Yelsen laughed heartily, “As for the Pope… that child should be over two hundred years this year, right? The last ti I saw him, he was still fighting with people on the street… You can tell him the details, he is a trustworthy kid.”
“Yes, My Lord, I understand—Eva, where is the Pope now?”
Eva quickly confird on the phone and shouted back, “He has reached the Fourth Ring! Still stuck!”
Everyone: “…” (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian) to vote for recomndations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
