Capítulo 1113: Chapter 1113: Comncent of Work

Now, this world has a new na. Sandora felt that since it was both the capital of the Old Empire’s 15th Day Zone (actually a fragnt of the capital) and the hotown of Pandora and the others, this universe should not be simply nad with a number. It should have its own na, just like Avalon and the Shadow Space. After a brief discussion, we decided to na this small universe, which is one light-year in diater, “New Xiang.”

This na is not uncommon at all. In the Empire’s database, there are at least several hundred places in the Macro World nad New Xiang. But for this piece of regained land, the two words “New Xiang” have an extraordinary significance—it was the only na we found that sounded decent after eliminating more than a hundred strange strings…

Alright, we shouldn’t have let Qianqian partake in the naming activity.

New Xiang, like Avalon, will beco a “district” of the Imperial Capital, and the Mortal World portion here will serve as an observatory and testing ground for the Empire’s divine phenona. It sounds a bit strange, as if the people here would be used as test subjects, but in reality, the situation isn’t that severe. It’s all a necessary process: The Xyrin Apostle will inevitably produce the next individual with divinity, and we’ll certainly need to know what powers this “New God” possesses. Regardless of willingness, this “New God” will inevitably generate information disturbance power, that is, the power of faith and divine grace. As long as the “New God” makes contact with the Mortal World, religion will inevitably erge. And when religion does arise, shouldn’t we send an Observer to take a look? Originally, before deciding to mount this world onto the Shadow Space, we planned that if a “New God” appeared, it should randomly establish a belief system among the audience in the Macro World. Now, it’s just placing this world, soon to be part of the Imperial Capital, as the first choice for the religious plan. Rather than being a test ground, it’s actually just a ready-made observation station.

Even when Shajina and Sona heard about these plans, they didn’t display any awkwardness—of course, another key reason is that they probably didn’t understand what I was talking about…

In recent days, many things have happened for many people on the Mother Continent, perhaps especially chaotic days for the rulers of various regions of this world. All this is due to the sudden spread of the news of the “God’s Nation’s Return” across the world.

In the Southern Region, a famous barren land on this continent suddenly gave rise to a new sect claiming to believe in the Crow God, and this news spread everywhere a few days ago. Unlike most worlds at the level of feudal civilization, information transmission on the Mother Continent is not as slow as one might think. This world has a communication network based on magic technology, and relatively developed dia channels. Even civilians can learn about recent events both inside and outside the kingdom through a kind of civil dia similar to newspapers and magic crystal notification devices in city centers. People are not unfamiliar with this new religion, the Crow God Sect, which has suddenly thrived in the desolate South. In the barren South, people find it hard to gain any material comfort, thus becoming a fertile ground for all kinds of erging small religions. However, the speed of developnt and exhibited strength of the Crow God Sect is sowhat surprising, and now, this sect has taken an even more astonishing action: they have sent ssengers across the world. These missionaries, clad in long black feathered robes, seem to descend from the sky, instantly appearing in every inhabited place around the world, openly proclaiming the news of the “God’s Nation’s Return.” These missionaries co and go without a trace, as if they possess powerful space transmission magic that even specialized mages cannot easily perform, often seen preaching at the borders of the kingdom in the morning, yet appearing in front of the king’s palace in the kingdom capital by the afternoon, requesting an audience.

Simultaneously, another group of “missionaries” appeared globally. Compared to the already existing and obviously larger Crow God Sect, the movent of this second group of missionaries seems smaller, yet their presence has a more significant impact on the ordinary people of this world. They are the “Dragon God Sect,” freshly organized, with not many knowing about them yet.

Unlike the Crow God Sect, the Dragon God Sect has only one race of believers: the Half-Dragon People—sotis still referred to as Lizard n in more remote areas. These people, originally at the bottom layer of the wise races on the continent, often lumped in with subhumans, have appeared all over the world alongside the Crow God’s missionaries, advocating the prophecy of God’s Nation’s Return. The “Giant Dragon’s Arrival” event happening in Sen Tu has now swept through most of the world, though many remain skeptical about the Half-Dragon People’s lineage truly containing dragon blood. Yet, the appearance of these people, claiming to be citizens of the Dragon God, has sparked unprecedented attention—especially as reports from around the world confirm occurrences where Half-Dragon People, when faced with crowds of skeptics, suddenly roar like dragons or even transform into giant dragons, causing disruption beyond the announcent of “God’s Nation’s Return” itself.

The sudden, significant actions of these two erging sects naturally caused quite a stir—the civilians were the first to bear the brunt.

In any world, the civilian class is easily influenced, with their numbers and complex composition allowing them to be quickly swayed by suddenly erging new information. If a group believes, countless more will blindly follow.

The Crow God Sect’s missionaries, in fact, are not particularly sophisticated “inciters.” They were probably once ordinary farrs or laborers toiling in quarries. In terms of using language and rhetoric to influence people, they are far from rivaling the more specialized monks of other sects. However, they possess genuine holy power. In this world, filled with abundant religious activities, even performing simple tricks on the street can attract a large crowd. It’s no wonder that these seemingly omnipotent Crow God Priests, appearing in the sky above cities, shrouded in divine techniques and calling forth lightning and storms, seem to the civilians to be as if the Heavenly God’s Envoy has truly descended, loudly proclaiming, “God’s Nation is about to return, a new order is about to establish itself.” If such actions cannot produce enough public impact, it’s hard to say what can. On the other hand, the actions of the Dragon God missionaries are even simpler. When a giant dragon suddenly lands on the city walls, loudly commanding everyone to cease all exploration of the Lost World, few would dare ignore such a warning.

Of course, there will always be those who ignore such warnings, even accusing these missionaries of only putting on a show to expand their sect’s influence. Such daring or stubborn individuals exist everywhere, but to be honest, at this point, their opinions no longer hold much significance. Orelia is already thodically closing the lost world portals; eighty percent of the channels from the Mother Continent to the Lost World have already beco one-way passages, only allowing people to return from the other side and no longer letting new people enter. Essentially, the missionaries’ task is not to stop the world-wide exploration activities using their own power, but to issue a global warning, acting as a sort of preventative asure to avoid upcoming panic events.

Thus, with these proclamations by “Divine ssengers” and the gradual closure of lost world access, exploration activities within the civilian populace of the Mother Continent almost imdiately ca to an almost complete standstill. Teams of explorers stranded in the lost world have continually returned to the Mother Continent (as communication between the Lost World and the Mother Continent remains unhindered, and in so unexplored lost worlds, the Dragon God Sect and Crow God Sect have respectively dispatched missionaries to evacuate people). As previously ntioned, explorers tend to be highly superstitious and hold great significance in various ons before setting out. With such major happenings around the world, these explorers largely adopted a “better safe than sorry” attitude, refraining from staying outside longer. Moreover, those unwilling to leave… well, they couldn’t really oppose those who get “possessed by the Gods,” could they?

It’s said that on just the first day, those Crow God Sect missionaries, despite their humble peasant origins, forcibly brought back several thousand people. The Dragon God Sect did slightly better, considering their Pope is a forr explorer; those brought back by them were not knocked out, just firmly tied up…

anwhile, as these missionaries bearing the na of Gods spread the news of the God’s Nation’s Return worldwide and perford miracles stirring considerable waves among the populace, the managers of each duchy and the Orthodox Church on the Mother Continent finally responded, comncing a series of counterasures—the situations differ from place to place.

In most places, the authorities’ response was as we expected: suppressing social unrest was prioritized, and they began to find out the source of those missionaries — a source that was easy to trace. All missionaries hailed from the South, as the Crow God Sect was never a secretive sect, and the Half-Dragon People had been openly migrating to the Southern Region for about half a month. However, when it ca to the actions following the discovery of the missionaries’ origins, the local authorities beca confused, as they could not fathom the motives of these religious figures staging a coordinated activity worldwide. The missionaries preached the imminent arrival of the Divine Country but never ntioned any doomsday scenarios often used by illegal sects to attract followers, nor did they seem intent on expanding the church’s influence with such fervor. It was as if the missionaries were rely notifying about the events. They would teleport from city to city, leave after drawing enough attention, and wouldn’t even accept food or donations from the citizens. The only explanation was that they were telling the truth.

Despite this, many operatives still encountered trouble due to the commotion, and Lilina initially instructed them to “act ostentatiously, be bold, God will smooth things out for you.” Each missionary’s actions were as lively as a festival, which annoyed many local authorities, leading them to attempt arresting or at the very least expelling these “mysterious people,” only to encounter unexpected situations—

Whether Crow God believers or Dragon God’s Envoys, they completely disregarded “mortal justice”!

Completely disregarded, as every operative bore a temporary Divine Gift Talisman, granting them a “Divine Side Executor” status, thus every ruling and action imposed on them by mortal justice was directly nullified. They were impervious to weapons and ignored any physical or non-physical obstacles. They walked phantom-like through formations of thousands of City Guards, loudly announcing the tiline for the Divine Country’s return as they went; they smiled through great magical bombardnts and, after the explosions ceased, continued reciting the evacuation plans ordained by God; they even projected their images into the King’s retina, propagating the ssage of world transformation. Before their departure, Vanilla and Sona had briefed their Envoys on the key points of action: embody the dignified deanor of a Divine Servant; as long as they followed God’s laws, Divine Servants would ignore mortal justice, thus they truly disregarded all mundane attacks directed at them…

This caused an uproar worldwide, and the uproar was everywhere. Rulers of the mortal world and “Orthodox Sects” in various regions finally realized sothing was amiss. They thought they might have encountered a true “God,” but soon enough, the “Orthodox Sects” themselves joined in on the propagating, on the third day of the mass activities by the missionaries from the South. Established churches worldwide began declaring that they, too, had received revelations, as the various ancient spirits and imaginative deities they worshiped suddenly began manifesting one after another, in unprecedentedly direct ways, affirming to believers worldwide that what the Crow God believers and Dragon God believers preached was real.

If those chaotic churches communicated amongst themselves, they would discover an odd phenonon: no matter which church’s ancient spirit was worshiped, they all recently adopted a strange tagline, which was “For the Empire”…

These ancient spirits have gradually co under our control.

It was previously ntioned that this world has two most distinct features. One is the “Lost World,” an inherent part of the Mother Continent’s civilization relevant to people’s lives, and the other is the myriad sects across the Mother Continent and the ancient spirits they venerate. In this world, around hundreds of religions or schools coexist in a subtle balance, all fundantally centered around ancient spirits. Ancient spirits are age-old, powerful entities, mysterious yet tangibly existent intelligences. They could be ancient fierce beasts or so embodied natural phenona (the ancient spirit pursued by the Storm Sect of the northern mountains is a perpetually raging thunderstorm), and Little Crow was once mistaken for an ancient spirit as well (with Vanilla referring to her as a Spirit of Nature). With this, we might develop a clearer understanding of the “ancient spirit phenonon” in the Mother Continent. These ancient spirits possess power entirely different from the mundane creatures of the Mother Continent, thus the mortals of the Mother Continent regard them as Gods.

Also, previously Orelia ntioned that among the 301 Commanders of the Old Empire’s Mysterious Side, aside from herself, the remaining 300 have been stored in this world in the form of bottom-layer data, with the majority hidden within human faith and various religious narratives across the Mother Continent. In other words, these Imperial Commanders have so inexplicable connection with the “ancient spirits” worldwide. Although not Empire Commanders, the genesis chanism of ancient spirits is phenona caused by overflow from the world’s bottom data, akin to extended second bodies of these Commanders. Given that the Empire Commanders dreaming here are from the Mysterious Side, their extensions are ancient spirits. Were there Technology Side Commanders sleeping here, the extensions might be black technologies. And if you knocked Lilina unconscious and tossed her into the world bottom layer, perhaps the entire Mother Continent would… well, turn into a mosaic…

Ancient spirits inherently lack independent consciousness; their “consciousness” is derived from the self-dissociated Imperial Officers. In the past years, with their mother bodies in a dormant state, all ancient spirits of the Mother Continent were in chaos — mortals interpreted this as the capriciousness of God, yet it was due to their muddled state. Now, as the Imperial Officers in the world’s bottom data are gradually awakening, the ancient spirits naturally shift from a chaotic to a clear state, standing by the Empire.

The Crow God’s and Dragon God’s missionaries are running around the world earning reputation, which is Lilina’s concern. As for us, we had already initiated the Mother Star activation procedure concurrently with the first missionaries’ departure.

The Mother Star, dormant for over 70,000 years and already fragnted by impact destruction, requires considerable effort to fully restart. This task cannot be accomplished in just a day or two, which is why we have plenty of free ti to let those missionaries run around the world promoting, rather than simply allowing Little Crow and Lin to manifest miracles worldwide. The latter, albeit seemingly convenient and swift, lacks the comprehensive promotional reach of the forr, and its impact appears insufficiently grand. Lilina places significant value on publicity tools, and she seeks to seize this opportunity to expand the Crow God Sect’s influence: without deliberately recruiting believers, as long as movents in any Lost World return to the Mother Continent, her promotional plan sees massive success. As for the Dragon God Sect… Shajina and Sona are clearly less experienced than Lilina, only taking action under her reminder. The two Half-Dragon girls still have a long way to beco qualified spiritual leaders.

The busiest these days, besides Lilina, is Orelia. Lilina is preoccupied with her religious endeavors, while Orelia is the only one among us who knows how to activate the Mother Star. So far, only in “New Xiang” has the conceptual disjunction been resolved; outside of “New Xiang,” conceptual disjunction persists, rendering Alaya helpless against things like the Sky Tower and Forgotten Garden (despite having designed and built those herself), leaving the heavy burden to Orelia.

Yet Orelia herself seems unfussed by these complex tasks, or perhaps revels in them. That gently floating, glowing form never reveals expressions, but I imagine I sense a cheerful emotion from her, notably apparent following the first response by world-spanning “ancient spirits” to our command two days ago.

“Neglected for 70,000 years, now finally able to serve the Empire once more, regaining work value — isn’t that worth celebrating?” Orelia cheerfully stated in response to my occasional inquiry, then ntioned another subject, “The Giant Dragon… over at the Divine Country Space, Angel City has been released. Would you like to visit?”

(Um, the 3D short film ntioned in the last chapter is now searchable on Bilibili, video number 477010. Not sure who uploaded it…)(To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian) to vote or give monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
