Tanya Sinclair had just exited the company’s main entrance when she saw Declan Pierce’s car.
Declan stepped out of the car, wearing a sharply tailored ash-grey coat. It was clearly an understated design, yet he wore it with style, as though he had just stepped off a runway.
Tanya smiled and quickly walked toward him. Declan opened his arms wide, embracing her warmly.
"Expert Sinclair, you’ve had a long day," he remarked with mock seriousness.
Harrison Langdon, who had followed her, was stunned by the scene.
"President Pierce, Junior Sister! You two..."
Tanya linked her arm through Declan’s confidently and introduced him, "Senior Brother, let formally introduce him again — he’s my boyfriend, Declan Pierce."
Harrison’s eyes widened even more, nearly biting his tongue.
Declan extended his hand first, "Hello, Senior Brother. Thank you for taking care of Tanya all this ti."
Harrison managed an awkward laugh as he shook the offered hand, "Hello, Mr. Pierce. You’re too kind. She’s my junior sister; it’s only right I look after her."
He gave Tanya a aningful glance, "You really kept this well hidden!"
Tanya sighed, "I had planned to tell everyone today, but I was unexpectedly appointed as a consultant, so I didn’t have the chance."
As they spoke, Harrison suddenly glanced behind them and muttered under his breath, "What bad luck."
Tanya: "?"
She turned to see Vincent Hawthorne approaching, though Vincent’s gaze was fixed not on her but on Declan beside her.
Vincent ca closer, pulling a slight smile at the corner of his mouth as he greeted Declan, "Second Young Master Pierce, long ti no see."
He deliberately emphasized "Second Young Master Pierce," as if to remind Declan of his status—no matter how illustrious the Pierce na, he was rely an illegitimate son.
Vincent offered his hand to Declan, who narrowed his dark eyes.
Their eyes locked, and sparks seed to fly in the air between them.
Harrison could practically sll the gunpowder in the atmosphere.
Declan left Vincent hanging for several seconds before extending his hand in a leisurely manner, shaking it politely.
"Long ti no see," Declan replied with a smile. "I heard your sister jumped out of a second-floor window to chase Felix Kendall and broke her leg? How busy your family affairs must be, President Hawthorne, yet you have ti today."
Yvonne Hawthorne jumped out of a building to chase Felix Kendall?
Tanya listened to the gossip with surprise, lifting her head to look at Declan.
Declan noticed her gaze and effortlessly turned to kiss her forehead.
As if her look was not about gossip, but an intentional show of affection.
Tanya: "..."
Declan saw Vincent’s face darken and smiled even more broadly. He looked at Harrison, "Senior Brother, Tanya and I will head off first. I’ll make sure to formally invite everyone for a al, as Tanya’s boyfriend, another day."
Harrison: "Alright then."
Once Declan and Tanya had driven off, Harrison turned to Vincent, leaning in to say, "Oh my, that song was spot on — saying goodbye to the wrong one ans you’ll et the right one. President Hawthorne, don’t you think they make a perfect match?"
Vincent: "..."
Harrison walked away, feeling satisfied.
Rhys Lucas erged just as Vincent sat in the car with a dark expression, smoking.
He awkwardly rubbed his nose, "So, you ran into Tanya Sinclair?"
Vincent discarded his cigarette, uninterested in the conversation.
"It’s getting late, let’s head straight to the restaurant."
"Okay."
Rhys, noting Vincent’s expression, dared not say much.
After driving for a while, Vincent suddenly asked, "Did the cooperation with your company involving Tanya Sinclair get settled?"
Rhys, looking at his phone, paused slightly at the question, "Yes, the contract was signed this afternoon. She was lined up by my father, through an old friend. I hadn’t expected it to be her..."
Recalling Tanya’s performance today, Rhys couldn’t help but say, "I never thought Tanya Sinclair really had sothing to offer..."
Although he was reluctant to admit it, Tanya’s work deanor was indeed attractive, a far cry from the clueless woman he knew who chased Vincent.
Vincent’s fingers drumd lightly on the steering wheel. Only when they arrived at the restaurant did he speak again, "I want to invest in the project Tanya Sinclair is involved in."
Rhys just unbuckled his seatbelt, stunned by the comnt.
He furrowed his brow, "Vincent..."
Vincent interrupted him.
"I’m well aware of Tanya Sinclair’s capabilities in her field. From a business standpoint, I want to invest to make a profit."
He was articulate, but Rhys remained skeptical.
"You’re sure it’s just for profit?"
Vincent chuckled lightly, "Why? Should I really not forget an ex-wife? Tanya Sinclair isn’t that captivating."
He paused, his gaze falling on the library card revealed in the compartnt.
Vincent calmly added, "There are plenty of younger and more attractive won who want to be mine."
Hearing Vincent say this, Rhys felt reassured.
He went along with Vincent, comforting him, "Exactly! You have all kinds of won at your disposal, why bother with old flas? Let’s go!"
Vincent smiled, and the two got out of the car and entered the restaurant.
The manager was quick to greet them with a smile, "President Hawthorne, Boss Lucas. Let show you to the private dining room."
Not far away, a pair of eyes watched Vincent’s back with delight.
"Leah Thorne! What are you looking at?"
