"Abby’s parents?" Tanya was taken aback.
"Yes. Their identities were too sensitive at the ti. To maintain their international image, the local governnt used political ans to prevent the news of their sacrifice from being publicly reported. So, even their bodies couldn’t be brought back." Felix said this with a somber expression. "This year, international situations have changed. I used so connections and managed to bring Abby’s parents’ remains back. But I don’t have the ti to choose a burial site and pay respects."
Felix looked at Tanya, his gaze lacked the usual flippancy and carried a hint of plea.
"In this matter, I’d like to ask for your help, Ms. Sinclair. You’re Abby’s favorite aunt. Her parents in heaven would surely be grateful to you. You’re the most suitable person to lay them to rest." Seeing Tanya’s hesitation, Felix spoke sincerely, "Besides you, I truly can’t find anyone more suitable to entrust this with. Don’t worry, I’ll cover all costs."
"It’s not about the money..." Tanya quickly explained. She also felt this matter was too significant and should be handled by Abby’s family.
But thinking about Abby’s vampiric family... For money, they could even tornt and exploit a child, let alone two sets of remains?
After considering, Tanya agreed.
"Okay."
Felix smiled relievedly, "Thank you."
He unconsciously pulled out a cigarette pack from his pocket, skillfully took out a cigarette, and held it in his mouth. Before lighting it, he glanced at Tanya.
"Do you mind if I smoke?"
Tanya: "...Smoking isn’t good for your health."
Quite tactful.
Felix chuckled, putting the cigarette pack away.
"Alright, I’ll quit for a bit."
"By the way, didn’t you say there were two things? What’s the other one?" Tanya asked.
ntioning the other matter, Felix beca a bit speechless.
"You’re familiar with the Hawthorne Family, right?"
Tanya rarely paused in silence, "You an Vincent’s family?"
"Yes." Felix frowned slightly, trying to keep his tone polite, "Do they have so kind of hereditary disease? I an, Vincent seems quite abnormal, and his sister, how is she even more abnormal than him?"
Implying the whole Hawthorne Family is utterly insane.
Felix’s insults had reached a new level.
Tanya couldn’t help but be curious, "What happened with Yvonne?"
Felix snorted coldly, "She showed up at my mission site, initially disguised as a local needing rescue. My team brought her back, planning to send her to the embassy. But she refused to leave, claiming to be my fiancée..."
By the end, Felix was laughing in disbelief.
"She thinks she’s starring in a Korean drama, acting dumb on the frontline battlefield with ."
Tanya: "..."
Tanya could already imagine Yvonne’s foolish actions, feeling a bit sorry for Felix.
She tentatively asked, "You wouldn’t have shot her, would you?"
Felix raised an eyebrow, "I was tempted, but you can never point a gun at your own country’s citizens."
Tanya smiled, finding her perception of Felix greatly changed.
This person wasn’t as frivolous as she first thought.
Felix watched Tanya’s smiling face under the moonlight. She didn’t put much effort into dressing up today, not wearing any makeup, clearly having rushed out in the middle of the night, but she seed much more vibrant than the last ti they t.
Her naturally beautiful features were even more charming and gentle in the moonlight.
But soon, Felix noticed the ambiguous hickey on her neck, and even on her collarbone, extending under her clothes.
Being an adult, Felix naturally knew what this ant.
Felix paused briefly before asking, "You and Declan..."
"Yes, we’re together." Tanya had no intention of hiding it.
Felix suppressed the sourness rising in his throat and joked, "You’re not going to explore your options? There are plenty of n out there."
Tanya seriously replied, "But for , there won’t be anyone better than him."
"..."
The smile on Felix’s lips froze for a mont.
Tanya extended her hand to him, "Mr. Kendall, I was prejudiced against you before. Let’s start again. I hope we can beco friends in the future. And I wish you find the best person for you."
Felix squinted slightly, looking at Tanya’s hand extended towards him, then smiled to himself.
She was too clever.
Clever enough to even see through his deliberately hidden thoughts.
Also gracious.
Graciously laying down a path for him to take.
Yet, he wasn’t quite willing to take that path just yet.
Felix kept his hands in his pockets, saying casually, "When I find her, then it’s not too late for Ms. Sinclair to congratulate ."
Tanya didn’t insist, retracting her hand.
She brought the topic back.
"So, Mr. Kendall, do you want to relay a ssage to The Kendall Family? To tell Yvonne to stop pestering you?"
"No." Felix looked down at her, "I want to ask you, do you still have any feelings for The Hawthorne Family? I’m considering how far to go."
