After Tanya Sinclair left the nursing ho, she went straight to the forr Sinclair family villa.

This house was once her warst castle, but later, it also beca the place where her nightmare began.

For a full twenty years, Tanya Sinclair hadn’t returned.

She thought the house would either have been sold by Sean Lynn or completely abandoned and in ruins. But when Tanya Sinclair pushed open the large iron gate that wasn’t closed and walked in, she found two gardeners tending to the garden.

However, the main door had been replaced with a new one and was tightly shut.

"Who are you looking for?" one of the gardeners noticed Tanya Sinclair.

Tanya Sinclair: "Sorry to bother you, but could I ask who the current owner of this house is?"

"We don’t know, soone just hires us to co and tidy up once a month."

Tanya Sinclair almost instinctively associated it with Declan Pierce. She imdiately called Declan, but this ti, she waited a long ti with no answer.

Tanya Sinclair had a faint sense of unease. Just as she was about to call again, Declan called back.

"Tanya."

Tanya Sinclair nervously asked, "Are you okay? Why didn’t you answer earlier?"

On the other side of the line, Declan chuckled and said, "Sorry, I was in the bathroom. I’ll take my phone with next ti."

Tanya Sinclair: "..."

Declan got serious, "What’s up?"

Hearing his voice, Tanya Sinclair thought he seed well, so she didn’t dwell on the authenticity of his excuse.

"I’m at the old Sinclair family villa now. Did you buy the Sinclair house too?"

Declan wasn’t surprised: "Yes, I wasn’t convenient to co forward at the ti, so I had a friend purchase it. I’ll have him bring the keys to you."

As expected, it was still him...

"Thank you, I want to repurchase this house." Tanya Sinclair said seriously, "I have money now, and I can’t let you make this sacrifice for nothing."

The Pierce family’s power and wealth, Declan almost traded with his life.

She couldn’t possibly enjoy these things peacefully.

Declan naturally understood Tanya Sinclair’s thoughts, "Alright, when he arrives, just sign the contract with him."

"Okay."

"Is there anything else you want to tell ?" Declan asked softly.

Thinking about the research her grandfather Horace Sinclair was doing at the nursing ho. Even if he collaborated with The Pierce Family, Declan should know sothing, right?

But thinking about Declan’s situation within The Pierce Family, Tanya Sinclair swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

"Are you taking your dication properly? How are you feeling today?" she asked.

Declan chuckled silently: "Just finished. So far, recovery isn’t too bad."

"Is anyone in The Pierce Family giving you a hard ti?"

Declan chuckled lightly, "If I’m dead, Zeke Pierce would have to co to pay with . They’re going out of their way to keep safe, so why would they give a hard ti?"

The word "dead" was always light on Declan’s lips.

As if his life carried no weight in his heart.

Tanya Sinclair clutched her phone and whispered, "I don’t care about Zeke Pierce’s life, but I want you alive."

Declan laughed lowly and coughed lightly twice.

"As you command, princess."

Tanya Sinclair: "You should rest. I’ll be here at the old Sinclair house waiting for your friend."

"Alright."

Declan put down his phone as the taste of blood rose in his throat, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

The crimson pool was quickly absorbed by the equally bright red carpet.

Declan leaned back on the sofa, staring at the chandelier above.

He weakly closed his eyes, clearly feeling every nerve deep in his brain sending out sharp pain, his head felt like it was about to explode.

He smirked with blood-stained lips.

"The new drug is quite potent... Anderson indeed hasn’t disappointed ."

After speaking, Declan conveniently picked up a nearby bottle of dicine, poured a few pills into his mouth, and swallowed them dry.

Declan paused, reached for his phone, and made a call. After a few seconds, it was answered,

Jasper Monroe’s voice was as flat as an AI, "Still alive?"

Declan rolled his eyes.

"Dead, here to collect you."

Jasper Monroe coolly replied, "You couldn’t collect when you were alive. Dead, I have even less to worry about. Spill it, what’s up?"

Declan: "Send the Sinclair villa property deed and keys over to Tanya. She’s at the house."

Tanya?

Jasper Monroe was silent for a few seconds, then rembered: "You an Tanya Sinclair? Alright, I’ll arrange for soone to go over."

"Okay, hanging up."

"Declan." Jasper Monroe called him, a bit more seriously, hesitated before speaking, "The Unborn Project has officially launched. I’ve also heard that Old Master Sinclair briefly regained consciousness. His previous research has laid the foundation for the entire project. If he doesn’t make it to that day, I’ll have his na engraved on a monunt. You..."

"You don’t need to rember ." Declan wiped away the bloodstain at the corner of his mouth, speaking lightly, "I’m not interested in advancing human technology."

Jasper Monroe, of course, understood, Declan always had a singular selfish desire...

"Declan, can you hold on?"

Declan touched the bullet wound on his chest, his expression calm yet gentle: "I promised her, I won’t die."

As for the manner in which he lived, that was another matter...

Tanya Sinclair waited for about half an hour.

A business vehicle drove up, and a man in a suit stepped out, looking cultured, yet exuding a strong elite aura.

"Hello, are you Ms. Sinclair? I’m Leo Truman, one of Jasper Monroe, Mr. Monroe’s secretaries in the country." The man introduced himself promptly.

Tanya Sinclair didn’t expect that the acquaintance Declan spoke of would turn out to be Jasper Monroe!

But then she rembered Zion Monroe, who always followed Declan, treating him like a big brother. It made sense that Declan was so close with Jasper Monroe.

"Hello, Mr. Truman, thanks for making the trip."

"Not at all, Ms. Sinclair, you’re too kind, this is simply part of my duties." Leo Truman said, handing a manila envelope to Tanya Sinclair, "Inside are the land deed, property deed, front door key, and the purchase contract with the previous owner. This is our contract, just sign it. As for the paynt, Ms. Sinclair, you should pay the original purchase price directly to Mr. Declan Pierce."

Leo Truman remarked, "Anyway, it was Mr. Pierce who paid for the house. He couldn’t co forward at the ti, so it was just under our Mr. Monroe’s na."

"Alright, I understand."

Tanya Sinclair reviewed the contract and signed it directly.

Leo Truman then took the contract and departed.

Tanya Sinclair used the keys from the manila envelope to open the front door.

The furnishings inside the house had changed, but it was kept very clean and well-maintained, with no dust to be found.

But Tanya Sinclair didn’t have ti to look around. She went back, opened the car trunk, took out a toolbox she brought, and hurried into her grandfather’s study.

Luckily, the floor had only been re-waxed and fortified, the tiles hadn’t been removed. Tanya Sinclair closed her eyes, relying on her childhood mory, stepped on the tiles one by one, and finally, found the tile with the hidden chanism.

Tanya Sinclair used the tools she brought to pry open the tile, under which there was a tal ring. With a strong pull, the wall in front of her automatically parted, revealing the staircase in the middle.

Underneath here, Grandpa’s private library has been remodeled.

Inside, it houses rare ancient books that Horace Sinclair collected from all over the world.

When Tanya Sinclair was very young, she accidentally stumbled into Grandpa’s study and saw him coming out. Her usually gentle Grandpa was very angry and forbade her from stepping into the study again.

It scared her so much as a child that she cried.

Later, Grandpa regretted it a lot and spent ti comforting her, explaining that there’s a secret chamber underground where he keeps ancient dical books and conducts very important research that mustn’t be disturbed.

’Tanya, if Grandpa’s research succeeds, I’ll achieve my biggest wish!’

At the ti, she curiously asked, ’Grandpa, what’s your biggest wish?’

But Grandpa didn’t answer her.

Thus, this secret chamber beca a secret between the two of them, grandparent and grandchild.

’Tanya, promise Grandpa, you’ll never enter this secret chamber of mine!’

Tanya looked at the open passageway in front of her, "Grandpa, I’m going to break my promise."

These past two days, her mind had been occupied with Declan Pierce’s illness until it almost burst. She vaguely rembered hearing Grandpa ntion a rare ancient dical book that talked about a formula for regenerating blood.

Since it was such a valuable book, Grandpa must have it stored here.

Tanya lit a candle and, before entering, decided to leave the address with soone trustworthy, explaining the situation.

Just in case she accidentally gets trapped inside.

At that mont, Daisy Bell called.

"Baby Tanya! I’ve wrapped up filming and I’m back! Aren’t you surprised? I’ll be downstairs at your place in two minutes!"

Also, another voice chid in—Mia’s.

"Hi Tanya, I’m here too!"

Tanya Sinclair: "Hello Mia, you two don’t get out of the car yet. I’m not ho, I’ll send you an address."

About forty minutes later, Daisy Bell arrived in a whirlwind, with Mia following behind her.

"Bonnie!" Daisy Bell gave Tanya a big bear hug upon arriving, "Did you miss ? You bought back your old house?"

Speaking, Daisy turned her head and noticed the dark passageway exposed on the wall, which looked a bit eerie.

"What’s this place?"

Tanya explained: "Below, it’s the secret room my Grandpa used for collecting rare ancient books. It’s cool, dry, and low in oxygen, which is better for preserving books. I’m thinking of going in to find a book."

"Then I’ll go with you. Mia, you stay outside and wait for us."

Mia, afraid of the dark and not wanting to go in, nodded obediently when she heard that.

"Okay!"

Tanya also told Mia how to open the secret room door, "If the door accidentally closes, pull the chain on the floor tile to open it. If it still won’t open..."

Tanya originally planned to ntion calling the police, but after thinking it over, she left her phone, setting the ergency contact to Declan Pierce’s number.

"Call this ergency contact and tell him if anything happens to ."

Mia couldn’t help but ask, "Tanya, is this person more reliable than the police?"

Tanya smiled and said, "To , yes. He can get here faster than the police."

Daisy Bell’s eyes twinkled knowingly, but she said nothing.

Tanya handed Daisy a candle, and the two walked inside, heading down the stairs.

"Hey, who’s that?" Daisy Bell nudged Tanya’s shoulder lightly.

"What?"

Tanya was a bit puzzled.

Daisy Bell raised an eyebrow teasingly at her: "That guy faster than the police! Co on, confess, is there sothing going on?"

Tanya stayed silent, while Daisy Bell stroked her chin, channeling her inner Sherlock Hols.

"Silence ans assent! You definitely have sothing going on while I was away! Well, considering how beautiful, smart, and wealthy my best friend is, the line of people chasing you could stretch from here to my film set! Co on, confess, who is it that’s caught your eye?"

Tanya, exasperated: "Don’t make wild guesses, it’s just a..."

What does Declan an to her?

Tanya was at a loss for words.

Calling him a friend is not quite right...

And Declan’s intentions were openly clear.

To her, Declan is a great benefactor. She owes him too much.

"I don’t know how to define it." Tanya smiled wryly, "I owe him a lot; he’s my benefactor..."

Daisy Bell narrowed her pretty eyes slightly and hit the nail on the head.

"Bonnie, knowing your character, you’re the least likely to trouble others, especially benefactors. When soone helps you, you repay double and go out of your way to treat them well. But you’d never set an ergency contact to soone you’re greatly indebted to."

Daisy Bell held Tanya’s shoulders and said seriously, "I may not know who this person is yet, but he is soone who gives you a sense of security, soone you’re willing to rely on."

Tanya was slightly taken aback.

Daisy Bell’s words indeed enlightened her.

It seed she was increasingly relying on Declan...

Daisy watched the subtle changes in Tanya’s expression, her gaze growing complex.

Having known Tanya for so many years, her Tanya had never relied on anyone... people always relied on her!

While she, the proper eldest daughter, wasn’t around, what brazen man dared to sneak into the master bedroom!!

Daisy put away her previously gossipy deanor.

Best friends may be playful, but when it cos to true feelings, she needs to thoroughly vet him!

After all, with her scum ex-husband, Vincent Hawthorne, as a precedent, when Tanya loves soone, she does so without reservations!

"Who is that guy?" Daisy Bell adopted the stance of a protective mother-in-law, believing that anyone who could gain Tanya’s trust in such a short amount of ti must be a high-level playboy!

Daisy Bell said sternly, "Soday—no! Tomorrow, arrange for him to et !"

Having mingled in the entertainnt industry for years, she’d seen all kinds of playboys and scumbags!

Full of confidence, Daisy Bell declared, "Bonnie, I’m going to be staying in Aris for a week anyway! If you really like him, I’ll vet him thoroughly for you and give him a good teaching if needed!"

Tanya: "..."

She couldn’t quite imagine the scene of Daisy Bell trying to coach Declan...

Tanya replied awkwardly, "Daisy, I don’t think that’s necessary."

"Why are you already defending him? Am I not your chief confidante anymore?" Daisy was displeased, "Tanya, what if your love brain takes over and you encounter another Vincent Hawthorne? I must first teach him a lesson! Let him know that Daisy Bell isn’t soone to be trifled with!"

Tanya rubbed her forehead, "He probably already knows you’re not to be trifled with."

Daisy Bell smiled confidently: "He’s watched my films, hasn’t he? A fan of mine, perhaps? Good taste! Rest assured, you can tell him that I’m actually very amiable in person, not as glamorous and distant as on TV."

The two had already descended the stairs, and in front was a corridor, lit on both sides, with a slightly ajar door at the end. The library should be behind it.

Tanya walked towards the door, as Daisy confird by holding her hand: "Tanya, you have to bring him to et tomorrow!"

Tanya thought about Declan’s current condition, not very convenient for going out.

And if she found the ancient book today, she indeed needed to take the new formula to see Declan tomorrow.

Considering this, she agreed with Daisy.

"He’s not very convenient to go out now; I’ll take you to see him tomorrow."
