Inside the hospital room.
The dical staff had already left, and Cindy Lynn lay on the bed, turning her face to the side in grievance.
"Vincent, you shouldn’t have saved ... If I died, you wouldn’t have to feel so tangled and miserable. Since you can’t let go of Tanya, I’ll fulfill your wish."
Vincent Hawthorne felt a throbbing headache, pressing his swollen temples.
"Cindy, it’s not what you think it is. I just went to discuss the custody of the two kids with her..."
"Can’t a lawyer talk about that?" Cindy Lynn’s emotions flared up, "Do you have to see her? And you still keep her photo in your wallet. You’re already divorced!"
Cindy Lynn got more agitated as she spoke, tears streaming down like rain.
Vincent Hawthorne was at a loss for words.
In this matter, he indeed was at fault.
At that ti, saving the photo was just a spur-of-the-mont thing... Tanya Sinclair had left resolutely, taking everything belonging to her, and what she couldn’t take, she burned to ashes.
She left him with nothing.
"Alright, just handle the photo however you want, alright?" Vincent Hawthorne sat by the bed, wiping Cindy Lynn’s tears, "Don’t ever do sothing so foolish again, do you hear ?!"
He looked at Cindy Lynn’s tear-streaked face with more helplessness and fatigue than heartache.
Tanya Sinclair wouldn’t be like this.
She wouldn’t use tears as a weapon. Even during those years when she was deeply wronged, she would cry away from him, not wanting to burden him.
Cindy Lynn held him tightly, her face buried in his chest.
"Vincent, I knew you love , you care about ! Don’t you?"
She held him tightly, uneasily and urgently seeking an answer.
How could he not care about a woman who loved him so much she sacrificed her life and even saved him?
Vincent Hawthorne raised his hand to stroke the long hair at the back of Cindy Lynn’s head, speaking gently.
"Don’t ask silly questions, of course I care about you."
Cindy Lynn heard the answer she wanted, curling her lips smugly, but in the next second, Vincent Hawthorne’s hesitant voice sounded above her.
"I just feel like I’m getting less and less familiar with you, I can’t tell which words you speak to are true and which are false."
In his eyes, Cindy Lynn had always been a simple, kind, and gentle little woman, but today at the Kendall Family, when Sean Lynn denied Tanya Sinclair as his biological daughter, Cindy Lynn didn’t seem surprised at all.
But before, Cindy Lynn clearly said that Tanya Sinclair was her half-sister... Vincent Hawthorne cald down, reviewed the situation, and the more he thought about it, the more sothing felt off.
"..."
Cindy Lynn lifted her head from Vincent Hawthorne’s embrace, her face marked with tears, pitifully.
She bit her lower lip, as if making a determined decision.
"Vincent, I didn’t intend to tell you these things. But Tanya Sinclair is just too aggressive, even after your divorce, she keeps leaving a thorn in your heart!"
Vincent Hawthorne grew more confused as he listened, "What do you an by that?"
Cindy Lynn gave a bitter smile.
"I know, you bla my father and for being cold-hearted, not recognizing Tanya Sinclair, right?" She looked directly into Vincent Hawthorne’s puzzled eyes, speaking slowly and clearly, "That’s because, Tanya Sinclair is simply not my father’s biological daughter! It was her mother, Charlotte Sinclair, who betrayed my father!"
"What did you say?!" Vincent Hawthorne was extrely shocked, standing up directly.
Just then, the hospital room door was pushed open again, and Sean Lynn and Shelly Sullivan walked in.
Vincent Hawthorne gathered his emotions and bowed his head, greeting, "Father-in-law, Mother-in-law."
Shelly Sullivan imdiately went over to check on her precious daughter. Sean Lynn, after glancing at Cindy Lynn, let his gaze fall on Vincent Hawthorne, speaking heavily, "Mr. Hawthorne, could we talk for a mont?"
After speaking, Sean Lynn walked straight out, with Vincent Hawthorne following behind, also leaving the room.
Inside the room, only Shelly Sullivan and Cindy Lynn were left.
"Silly child, is it really worth putting yourself through this?" Shelly Sullivan looked at her with eyes full of heartache.
Cindy Lynn, however, seed indifferent, "We’ve co this far, whatever it takes, I want Vincent Hawthorne to have only in his heart!"
"Don’t worry, that little bitch Tanya Sinclair still thinks Old Master Kendall can back her up, she’s just a fool hitting herself with her own rock!" Shelly Sullivan snorted coldly, saying that, she took out a small incense burner from her bag, emitting a familiar scent.
"You used the one you brought tonight on the two kids, right?" Shelly Sullivan said smugly, "Using my self-created hypnotic scent along with psychological hypnosis, you can control the other person’s mind seamlessly."
Cindy Lynn: "Yes, it worked well on Joy, she listened to everything I said and fell asleep imdiately, but Caden didn’t react the sa."
Shelly Sullivan wasn’t surprised either, "This hypnosis thod is less effective on people with strong wills, but Caden, though a little prodigy, is still only five. Next ti I’ll increase the dose, using it a couple more tis should do it!"
Cindy Lynn nodded and then told Shelly Sullivan about Vincent Hawthorne eting Tanya Sinclair tonight and keeping their photos.
She gritted her teeth in hatred, "Mom, I won’t be satisfied until that bitch Tanya Sinclair is dead!"
Shelly Sullivan also harbored deep resentnt toward Tanya Sinclair. She had been caught off guard and played by that little bitch, losing face in front of so many guests at the Kendall Family!
Unless that bitch dies, she couldn’t dispel the anger festering in her heart!
"Just wait a couple more days, until Old Master Kendall confirms that Tanya Sinclair is just a fraud, and no one will care whether she lives or dies." Shelly Sullivan sneered, "Old Ninth King is already prepared, now all we need is the right timing to make her disappear forever!"
Outside the hospital room, Vincent Hawthorne followed Sean Lynn to a deserted terrace.
Sean Lynn didn’t rush to speak, first lighting a cigarette, and then slowly said, "I listened for a while outside before coming in. I heard everything you and Cindy talked about."
Vincent Hawthorne pressed his lips together, "Father-in-law, I..."
Sean Lynn waved his hand to interrupt him, "I know you must have a belly full of questions, but there’s one thing, I only have Cindy as my precious daughter, that’s a fact!"
Vincent Hawthorne’s face turned slightly pale, a little incredulous, "So it was truly Tanya Sinclair’s mother, Charlotte Sinclair, who betrayed you?"
Such disgrace, no man could endure!
Sean Lynn sighed lightly, "This isn’t a glorious thing, originally I wanted to take this secret to my grave, as long as the Sinclair Family didn’t co out to disgust ! But as it happens, Cindy fell for you."
Sean Lynn gave Vincent Hawthorne a heavy look, his tone suddenly becoming stern, "Actually, I’m really not pleased with you!"
Vincent Hawthorne pressed his dry lips together, montarily speechless.
"My precious daughter was willing to throw her life away to save you in college! But how did you treat her? At that ti, I wanted to co after you, but Cindy knelt in front of her mother and , begging us not to give you a hard ti, saying it was her will!" Sean Lynn spoke with increasing anger, his eyes secretly watching Vincent Hawthorne’s expression.
Vincent Hawthorne didn’t know that Cindy Lynn endured so much pressure for him behind the scenes.
"This matter, I truly owe Cindy..."
"My daughter, Cindy Lynn, could marry anyone she wants, couldn’t she? I prepared a billionaire’s dowry for her, yet she stubbornly insists on loving you!" Sean Lynn extinguished his cigarette, his eyes intensely sharp, conveying a sense of oppression directly aid at Vincent Hawthorne, "Today, I want a clear answer, will you marry my daughter?"
