Los Angeles, at the end of Sunset Boulevard, there was a continuous stretch of buildings.
Although the environnt was elegant and the servants were nurous, the na was quite simple, just "The Club".
However, those familiar with Los Angeles knew that the threshold for joining this club was extrely high.
Ordinary billionaires and Hollywood gastars had no eligibility to enter.
The true clientele here were so top politicians and Arican ga-dia moguls.
At this ti, two of these magnates, Redstone of Viacom and Eisner of Disney, walked out of the main entrance with serious expressions.
They instinctively tightened their coats and exchanged glances, nodding at each other as if they had made so decision.
Afterward, they separately opened their car doors and left without uttering a word.
"Heh, breaking the unspoken rules for ’Cutthroat Island’?" Eisner muttered disdainfully to himself as he sat in his car.
He had originally thought that Old Bronfman, the forr chairman of the World Jewish Congress who had co to Los Angeles, was there to persuade his son to unify the Jewish forces in Hollywood even more.
But instead, the old man had co from Canada to subtly remind him and Redstone, "We are all Jews, don’t break the unspoken rules."
Faced with this rebuke, the two dia tycoons were sowhat confused, "The Bronfman family and Ben Holdings in Columbia have beco so close?"
Then Little Bronfman, this disrespectful junior, jumped out and ntioned sothing about the film critics and ’Cutthroat Island’.
And the two dia magnates were even more puzzled, because they really hadn’t done anything!
"There were always only rumors of us framing others; when did it beco others framing us?"
But Old Bronfman had such high prestige among the Jews, including the Israeli wars and global pursuits of the Third Empire’s remnants, all had this old man’s influence in the background.
Thus, the two dia moguls could only suppress their displeasure and seriously began to explain things to each other.
Unexpectedly, Little Bronfman took out his phone and started talking to several film critics.
They even admitted that it was Viacom and Disney who had paid for the PR expenses.
Honestly, at that mont, Eisner and Redstone truly felt what the Los Angeles Police Departnt must have felt during the major riots.
"Mother-fucker!", the Emperor of Disney was so angry he almost cursed out loud!
But after calming down, he began to ticulously analyze.
If ’Cutthroat Island’ failed, or if Universal, Viacom, and Disney had conflicts, who would ultimately benefit?
After contacting several "insiders", the two dia moguls also ruled out the possibility that other dia groups were involved.
Then...
Redstone proposed a possibility, was it that the bestselling author had received so information, hence he orchestrated this move?
The goal being rely to encourage Universal to proceed more firmly with the film adaptation?
Considering the close relationship between young Asians and the film critic community, Eisner also agreed with this speculation.
Old Bronfman, facing the two, just calmly took out several docunts, "This is all the financial information that young man can mobilize, and the data is absolutely accurate."
"This is not a conjecture by Ti magazine, but collected through internal channels by Mr. Madoff, the NASDAQ chairman, and Lehman Brothers, the Wall Street giants."
"According to the data, he hasn’t moved a large amount of funds recently."
"And the funds needed to buy off all the film critics in Arica would be at least in the tens of millions."
"You are all insiders of Hollywood; you should be quite clear how much of the production cost is taken up by movie promotions, right?"
Redstone and Eisner picked up the docunts and examined them carefully, finding the information to be as described.
But...
Other than these people, who else had the motive to do this?
You see, this amount of money isn’t small change for anyone.
Surely no one has so much money they don’t know what to do with it?
"Since it’s not Viacom or Disney," Little Bronfman looked at the two moguls, "when Universal confronts those critics, could you two please not interfere?"
Eisner and Redstone firmly shook their heads, "We still need those people for our future film promotions."
"Although this doesn’t concern us, the critics think it’s Disney and Viacom."
"If we ignore it, then our future films will only receive negative reviews."
Seeing the grim expressions on the faces of the Bronfman father and son, Redstone and Eisner realized that the negotiations had broken down.
"Humph!" Eisner popped a pill into his mouth and swallowed it with water, "Buying off critics? Such a low tactic?"
Since the talks had broken down, it was ti to teach the liquor tycoons a lesson.
He knew that, given Old Bronfman’s prestige, ultimately so heavy hitters would co forward to diate.
As for the terms of the settlent, it would depend on the muscle of each party.
"Contact the legal team negotiating with DreamWorks, change the original plan," Eisner thought for a mont and instructed his assistant, "The ’Saving Private Ryan’ project is no longer just a cover; it can be scheduled now."
The most likely blockbuster for Universal was now the ’Jurassic Park’ IP.
"Compared to making money for Universal, Spielberg should be more concerned about his own DreamWorks," Eisner murmured to himself.
...
Like the two dia moguls, Wang Jian was also baffled.
However, while Redstone and Eisner wondered who could afford to spend so much money to fra Disney and Viacom,
Wang Jian was pondering why the Jewish financiers were investigating his financial movents.
Jewish forces...
Could it be Redstone?
"Wang," Gisele Bundchen flipped her blonde hair and looked up, "What’s on your mind?"
Wang Jian forced a casual smile and helped the kneeling Brazilian beauty to stand.
"I’m a bit tired today. Pour a glass of milk, let’s hit the sack early."
"Oh." Gisele obediently opened the bedroom door and walked out sowhat disappointed.
She glanced at her outfit—lace-up high heels and black stockings, "Wang should like it..."
But Wang Jian had no energy to consider that a single sentence of his had made the supermodel start doubting her own charm.
He was frantically wracking his brain, thinking about where there might be a loophole in his finances.
"Twitter is a publicly traded company; it only uses investors’ money, so everything is very regular."
He had always strived to avoid trouble by abiding by the law; there definitely shouldn’t be any problems.
The only potential flaw was the website channeling a large amount of operating expenses through charitable funds for tax-avoidance purposes.
But...
Every major corporation in Arica does that!
"dia industry, why must they resort to political maneuvers?" Wang Jian sighed helplessly and started to think of a response.
Actually, as an internet enterprise, it would be more logical to try to get in touch with Vice-President Gore.
But there has been no contact between them, and the Democrat Party definitely prefers the dia moguls...
He sighed, took out his phone, "Lehman, could you help get in touch with the Governor of Texas, Mr. Little Bush?"
