A thousand kilometre distance was still considered quite far.
Yet in this world, a thousand kilometres was not truly an insurmountable distance.
Many Forbidden Zones covered areas spanning thousands of kilometres in every direction, and simply navigating around them would require travelling far more than that.
For Lu Fan, who possessed Pet Dragons, a thousand kilometres was already quite close.
Lu Fan gave a firm nod. “If that’s the case, then I’m relieved. I’ll describe everything my Projection sees in full detail, so that everyone can gain a clear understanding of where the Slaughter Ancient God is located.”
With that, Lu Fan began channelling the greater portion of his focus into controlling his Projection.
Through the Projection’s perspective, Lu Fan felt as though he himself had entered Ouyang Bai Ge’s Void World, as if he were truly there in the flesh.
This world was, as expected, pervaded with strangeness and eeriness at every turn. Beyond the countless insect-like Monsters, the plant life here was equally bizarre. Certain plants resembled an outstretched hand, their countless branches swaying gently in mid-air.
Whenever a Void Creature passed nearby and entered their awareness, they would launch out a tendril, capture the creature, and drag it into their own bodies.
This led Lu Fan to suspect that these were not plants at all, but animals. They might be no different from other Void Creatures, merely more deceptive in their appearance.
These were entities Lu Fan had no intention of provoking. He kept his distance at all times, lest he inadvertently bee their quarry and lose his life in this world.
This world had been conjured from Ouyang Bai Ge’s Ancient God Power; every Void Creature within it was an extension of her strength.
Lu Fan held no illusions that a single Projection of his could survive unharmed within this Void World, which represented Ouyang Bai Ge’s full power.
Opening a passage to the Slaughter Ancient God was no easy task on its own. He did not know how much energy Ouyang Bai Ge had to spare to protect him, so Lu Fan does need to be careful on his own.
Thus, Lu Fan rode Ye Sha, keeping his Concealment Skill active throughout the journey, and followed the direction Ouyang Bai Ge had indicated. He navigated each harrowing stretch without incident until he arrived at a purplish black mountain of imposing height.
The second Transport Array had been opened at the very summit of this mountain.
Lu Fan surveyed his surroundings, confirming that no dangerous Void Creatures lurked nearby, before riding Ye Sha up to hover beside the Transport Array, preparing to activate it as Ouyang Bai Ge had instructed.
But the moment Lu Fan landed upon the mountain, the entire peak began to violently tremble.
Lu Fan and Ye Sha barely managed to stabilise themselves. Glancing downward, he discovered that the mountain beneath his feet was trembling and beginning to move. It was writhing and undulating, transforming before his eyes into an enormously massive worm-like creature!
On either side of what had appeared to be the ‘mountain’, a pair of fleshy wings unfurled and began beating relentlessly, stirring up torrents of wind.
This enormous worm was grotesque. It looked so alien in form that Lu Fan could not even determine which end was its head and which its rear. All he could discern was that the creature kept twisting its body, as though dissatisfied at being disturbed by Lu Fan, wishing to leave.
Judging by that, this Void Creature seemed to have a relatively agreeable temperament. Rather than attempting to kill Lu Fan after being disturbed, it simply wanted to leave.
Yet even without any aggression on the Void Creature’s part, its writhing body still posed no small problem for Lu Fan.
After the real Lu Fan secured Ouyang Bai Ge’s consent, Lu Fan summoned Lin Dong’s Projection, directing her to unleash her Dragon Breath to Freeze the worm.
Before Lin Dong’s formidable Crowd Control Skills, the worm’s bat potential had no opportunity to manifest. It was directly encased in a colossal glacier before it could even begin to resist.
That gave Lu Fan the opening he needed. He activated the Transport Array and stepped through it, heading toward the Slaughter Ancient God’s location.
The moment he set foot on the Array, Lu Fan felt a profoundly familiar sensation of being pulled.
Then, his vision brightened. He had been delivered to the other end of the Transport Array.
Lu Fan narrowed his eyes and began carefully surveying his surroundings.
What he saw next was something he could never in a thousand years have anticipated.
Before him, over a thousand people were kneeling in reverence, prostrating themselves in the direction of where he stood! Every one of them was dressed in the attire of the ancient Dragon Country. They were clearly members of an Ancient Noble Family.
[I… arrived at an Ancient Noble Family’s territory!? Moreover, an extraordinarily powerful one at that!?]
Lu Fan perceived that he appeared to be standing atop a ceremonial altar.
The altar was constructed entirely of some kind of High Grade stone. Stone of such quality, if it were to be repurposed into equipment, it could likely yield several pieces of Epic Grade equipment!
The platform rose a full hundred metres high, its stone steps descending in a grand showcase. This was a sight that made the sheer volume of precious material used in its construction truly staggering.
On either side of the jade platform, luminous crystals had been inlaid just for illumination. All of them were priceless for some, yet just here for fixture.
Below the platform knelt the thousand-odd Players who had e to offer their reverence. Every single one of them radiated terrifying power, each at the Fifth Profession Change or above!
Among them, there were even over a hundred individuals at the Sixth Profession Change!
If all these people belonged to the same Ancient Family, then the depth of that Family’s power was…
Simply beyond imagination.
Even a Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Family would not ordinarily possess such a terrifying force.
[In that case, are they from a Sacred Land!? That means, the Slaughter Ancient God might be hidden within a Sacred Land!?]
Lu Fan was momentarily stunned. But at that moment, his sudden appearance had already drawn the attention of everyone below.
The crowd erupted into clamour. Not one of them had expected anyone to appear upon their sacred altar.
“Who is that up there!? How did he get here!?” Came the furious roar of an Elder from within the crowd.
The rest debated amongst themselves in a flurry, unable to provide an answer.
This was their place of worship. This was a sealed Secret Realm. Only those belonging to their Family could enter through the Transport Array. It should have been impossible for any outsider to e through.
Lu Fan’s sudden materialisation was to them what an extraterrestrial would be to an ordinary person. It was bewildering and inexplicable.
But before long, someone gathered their posure and called out sharply. “No matter who he is or how he arrived, intruding upon our Sacred Jiang Family is a capital offence! Seize him first! We’ll interrogate him afterwards!”
At that mand, a wave of experts surged forward in unison, intent on subduing Lu Fan.
This left Lu Fan deeply exasperated. He had intended to discuss matters calmly. Even if these were people from a Sacred Land, surely things could be resolved through dialogue.
All he needed was to clearly explain the situation, and they would likely be willing to share whatever information they held about the Slaughter Ancient God.
After all, the Slaughter Ancient God was a threat of world-ending proportions. Something that could not be allowed to remain…
Silavin: So, the original translation, if direct, is Jiang Family Sacred Land. But it kinda seems odd, so shortening it to Sacred Jiang Family.
